Stoupa is breathkakimgly beautiful.Traditional stone houses, some of which are shops or tavernas, surround a curved sandy bay.Behind are dramatic mountains, ever changing in colour according to the weather & time of day. Our accommodation was Anna Studios (studio no.1)just a few minutes walk from the bay & it's amenities, and just a few minutes walk from the bus stop to go to other villages or Kalamata. We liked our studio very much with our own little terrace with quite far reaching views. It was simply furnished but extremely clean&spacious&with plenty of storage space. We had all we needed. It was the final fortnight of the season but, perhaps as quite a few British people have retired to Stoupa, most of the tavernas&shops were still open.We had some hot sunny days.We also had some thunderstorms with torrential rain.We enjoyed seeing the wonderful cloud formations over the mountains as the rain approached, and then enjoyed ouzo in a friendly taverna until the sun reappeared. We saw some beautiful sunsets, then enjoyed our meals in tavernas overlooking the lights twinkling over the bay. There weren't enough people for any of the tours to run but we explored Kardamili & Agios Nikalaos, swam, read books & had a very relaxing time. What we didn't like? - having to leave! Thank you Olympic Holidays. We will be returning.
