Room booked was not what was reserved

Room allocation was dissapointing as we had reserved a triple room for 3 adults, to be allocated a room, alledgedly queen with only one bed for three adults was inappropriate. Hotel claim that Hotel Direct do not communicate room size i.e. triple room for 3 adults! Hotel itself were very accommodating and did compensate us greatly for this - still awaiting to hear feedback from Hotel Direct and when making contact with sales line at the weekend the operater did ring the hotel but as they had compensated us she did not really want to take on board our comments any further, other than to say it would be referred to contracts! will book directly with the hotel in future, that way I know what I am actually getting. Also room allocated overlooked the kitchens with rubbish lying about - did not really matter as we were only there for one night and were exhausted, general impression if booking with a third party you get second rate service, we were just lucky the manager took the complaint seriously and did everything possible to make amends. Shellbourne Hotel in Dublin is truly outstanding but better to book direct.
