Avoid at all costs. They are based in Turkey, or somewhere nearby. They take your money and then cancel the booking without informing you. They are also not cheap. We paid almost £200 less for the week when booking with the hotel direct. It is a disgrace that their website is still up and running. Tripadviser have removed all their listings. No doubt they will start up again under a new name. Be savvy. Always check on the Company before making a booking.

“Scam/report straight away”

Avoid at all costs. Booked a hotel in Tenerife via GalaHotels 4 weeks before arrival, and when arrived there got told that my booking had been cancelled 1 week ago by GalaHotels, because they send this hotel an e-mail that their so called company ''Leonardo Travel'' got bankrupt, but the funny thing is that their website is still up and running. I wasn't notified about this cancellation at all by them and on GalaHotels website my booking was still active. Had to pay for the hotel again to stay. When I tried to contact GalaHotels by all of the numbers provided on their website, none of the numbers worked (obviously) and writing an e-mail to them is pointless as well, so I contacted my bank via phone, told them the situation, and after a week when I came back I visited my bank again and told the same thing again. Next day they contacted VISA for chargeback option and it was successful, I got my money back in 3 days. Stay away from this company.

“DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY ”

Booked a specific level of room with this company (and paid extra for it) only to find when I got the hotel that they had booked a lower level of room. The hotel actually showed me the booking which stated the level of room booked. I contact customer services (what a joke) to ask that they sort it out and was told that it may take 24hrs to action as everything had to be done by email. I was trying to check in at the time. After days of calling/emailing they they just ignored me. They also told me that the two rooms were the same even though you can book the DIFFERENT options. No refunds. I will NEVER use these again. Do you own research though. Look at the forums and see the horror stories written there. I wish I had - Lesson learnt.

“Terrible customer service”

By mistake I double booked a room in a London hotel. Once directly with the hotel, the second through GalaHotels. The hotel immediately acknowledged the error. They did not take any money from Gala's agents. In other words, the second booking was not charged to Gala or its agents. What may have happened is that Gala was invoiced by its agents who simply kept the money. However, when I tried to get my money back from Gala I met all the hassles already mentioned on here. First of all they refused to acknowledge the claim. Then when we provided evidence from the hotel they simply refused to answer emails and seem to have locked us out of their web site contacts facility - or at least it isn't working. Bascially, they treated me badly and don't care.

i made booking at january it was free cancelation. But i had problem so in 13/2/18 i cancel it and they send me that in 21 days they refund my money.. The problem is i send lots of emails lots of messeges on fb to book me other dates and i will give them the extra money. But no once respon. Only messener they told me ok they will canact you soooooon. This will be my last booking for sure.

I booked hotel in Havana with free hotel transfer. Hotel transfer was not provided. I was personally talking to the boss of transport company, which was supposed to pick me up and he claimed, that they stopped working for Galahotels 2 years ago. I requested complensation from galahotels for taxi (the only way to get from the airport), but they told me, that I did not follow instructions and I lie, because they still use transport company named on voucher (the one, that told me vis versa). Very sophosticated scheme - Havana taxi do not issue receipts, so credit card company can not help, neither can any official body due to galahotels operating from Turkey. Anyone can provide any legal advice?

Do not book through this company!!!  i have had problems details below and when i googled them hundreds of bad trip advisor reviews have had 2 call my card company also they shut my case saying wasnt clear enough and to reopen case tried wont let me and wont let me open a new one emails are no reply and call centre hangs up on you well gala hotels you think you are getting away with this you have another thing coming i will review anywhere i can twitter facebook trustpilot tripadvisor you will regret the day you tried to take my money for free!!!!!! case tried to open after they shut my first one: i cannot believe you have shut my case and gave reason as please write your request clearly! is this clear enough for you i booked a hotel last night you have took my money then emailed today to say that you are moving me hotel. I cannot move hotel as i need to be in airport grounds hence why i booked the hotel i did.   i have tried calling your call centre at half 5 when i finished work and the first time i picked option 0 got hung up on the second time i picked option 1 got hung up on and i also called another number on your site which kept telling me to press star as number didnt have a voicemail and just kept repeating this message when i pressed star. Your opening hours are supposidly to 6 so why was this?  you have me panicking as i need a hotel room at airport on friday and if i dont get a response from you as soon as how can i book another hotel at airport. I will end up having to go to my bank  as i have paid for one thing and you are trying to give me another and i cannot get in contact with you through calls or cases because you just shut them. I need a reply asap  a very unsatisfied customer

“Think again before booking through GalaHotels.com !”

Think again before booking through GalaHotels.com ! We Booked a hotel room for new years at Jury's Inn and on the night had several problems that were ultimately resolved by the Goodwill and kindness of the General manager of the hotel in the way of a full refund. Because we paid through GalaHotels.com the refund had to be made to them with the express and direct request from the General manager of the hotel to refund us via GalaHotels.com. Sadly GalaHotels.com have continued to prevent us having this refund they have been paid to give directly to us as yet using any and all delay tactics and excuses in phone call and email back and forth, even with the direct involvement of of the General Manager at the hotel who refunded the money already. I have never dealt with such a terrible customer services in some place like Istanbul Turkey who's English is appalling and refusal to see good sense while they ignore the direct involvement to date of the General Manager at the hotel and our earnest attempts, even when they have the refund from the hotel. Please think again before booking with GalaHotels.com we certainly will !

Hotel booked on the 11th September for a 1st/2nd December stay. Payment was made in advance. There was no choice on this. Due to unforseen circumstances I had to cancel the booking on the 19th November. When I requested a 100% refund which I was entitled to, I was told it would take 21 business days to process.....which is a joke in itself! Anyway I should have recieved my refund by the 18th December....but nothing received! Still nothing received today despite contacting them on a daily basis. I get the same automated messages that my refund is being processed. I've been getting this same message since the 27th November when I first contacted them. I would never use them again. PLEASE DON’T USE THEM

Like many other reviews on here I have had a very bad experience with this company and I would strongly advise that you do not make a booking with them. I booked a hotel in Warsaw following a search on Trivago. However, like many other customers, I received a notification that the hotel was no longer available but the company still debited my credit card. You cannot contact the company by phone and email's get the same response that a refund will be provided in 21 working days. I have contacted Trivago to try and have the company blocked and will post as many reviews as I can in an effort to prevent others being treated in the way that I, and many others, have.

we cancel our reservation. Because we do not get in touch with the hotel in Havana. we want to receive our money back as soon as possible, if you can write off within 2 min. after booking, you can also deposit it back immediately. (why wait 21 days?) we checked several hotels and they were not familiar with gala-hotels (a.o. Krasnapolsky Amsterdam, NH hotels Maastricht and Amsterdam), we will post this on your site and by trust-pilot, and a update each day with the names of the hotels mentioned on your site, until we have our money back.

Please be aware this company is not ethical and does not fulfil its service or customers obligations. it takes your money for a booking and does not confirm for weeks (all the while gaining the benefit from the cash in its coffers)then it advises that it cannot fulfil its booking saying it will refund the money - I'm still waiting and its still out there advertising its rooms

I wish I had read all these bad reviews before using this company!! Had booked a room for a couple of nights, choosing the more expensive option - room with free cancelation. After having to cancel the room, the full amount has been charged. Despite all the data and prices where still in the galahotel system - the company denied their mistake. The telephone support was rude and uncooperative. I am rather shocked! After a serious complaint about their handling I got a reply per mail with apologies and that it was their mistake anf I would get the money refunded - as it was impossible to do that online and I asked for help they changed their mind again- so I am charged with the whole amount. Please dont use this company ever!!!! Go to the hotel websites directly or check agoda- its much cheaper anyway!!!

The website offered rooms at a specific hotel that I wanted to stay so went ahead with the booking. They quickly took money off my credit card but then emailed to say that there were no rooms available at my chosen hotel. They offered an unsuitable alternative so I requested a refund at the beginning of September but still no sign of it, despite them promising that it would be sent within a few days. I have chased and been assured that the money would be refunded but still no sign of it. I have raised a charge back with my credit card company as I could not be bothered to chase Gala any further. Given the number of complaints listed here, I am surprised that they are still on business - avoid them like the plague.

Don't use...I had money stolen from hotel room safe and Gala hotel staff aren't interested and the hotel staff neither and tried to make out I was a lair!!! Disgusting treatment. What was meant to but inexpensive stay tuned out to be double due to €100 been stolen...which when on a tight budget with my 14 yr old son isn't good as has ruined our holiday because having to watch what we spend so we can eat and drink for last few days.... DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE USE THIS COMPLETLY!!!!!!

I booked a 4 star hotel in Lisbon and received the voucher and confirmation number and paid the hotel in full. The next day the company contacted me and said they have relocated me to another hotel - this hotel was a 3 star that had horrible reviews. They told me it would be the same price and when I went online to see the price is was substantially cheaper than what I had paid. I called the company which I believe is located in Cyprus - I was on hold for 30 minutes and then the phone went dead, this happened twice. There is no customer service. The correct way to handle this situation was to offer an upgrade not a downgrade. Stay clear from this website they are not trustworthy.

I have requested my money back for two bookings that I have made because of health issues I cancelled my trip. They replied that they will refund me within 3-6 days. It’s been now 3 months and still nothing. They do not even answer to my mails. The worst company EVER. I even complained through their website a month ago. They replied to me that their bank is still processing my request…. I am very angry about this. I will post this message every day, everywhere in the internet until they give my money back.  I will also contact my credit card company to find a way to go legal against them. If they continue like this, they will close very soon .

Hi I cannot believe this company is allowed to exist. I had to cancel my hotel booking the 11/03. It was supposed to be fully refundable. I have sent 5 emails so far and each time I get a generic response say my refund is being processed and noting has happened almost a month later. I have read the reviews on Trustpiolot and hundreds of people have had the same experience. Please don't book this company.
