I called Rightio to unblock an upstairs toilet. The engineer went upstairs & made a lot of noise ,came downstairs about an hour later saying that he could not find the cause of the blockage (I was not surprised as he only seemed to have the kind of tools you would find in your garden shed) he told us that he would have to come back with a second pair of hands the next day to clear the blockage. He was at our property for 1 hour & 25 minutes. Approx 5 minutes after leaving our property he attempted to withdraw £678-00 from our bank account but fortunately for us our bank dept. blocked the withdrawal attempt & immediately informed us.After he had left we went upstairs to find our bathroom floor swimming in foul smelling water as were our clean bath towels. He had taken our toilet out for some reason but had refitted it back in the wrong position leaving us with an unsightly hole in our bathroom floor. I did try to talk to customer service about all my complaints but they basically just didn't want to know(I honestly believe that they are trained to give service to Rightio but definitely not to the customer. There were many many more bad experiences I had with my dealings with Rightio too many to list. I would finish by advising anyone to treat Rightio as you would Covid because they pose a serious threat to your financial health, your mental health & your physical health RUN WHILE YOU CAN !

Keep well away -rogue traders! my "engineer" had no idea what he was doing, failed to fix any of the minor issues but charged me £250. they charge by the hour which is where things go wrong, he wasted time and spent time on his mobile to get over the hour to charge 2 hours of labour. Instead of checking pipes to diagnose a drip he decided to apply sealant to my kitchen sink, very badly, and charge an extortion amount for this "material" that did absolutely nothing to fix the issue. I actually fixed it myself. He damaged my property and claimed "these things happen when you do a job". Their customer service team pretends to care but do not, it took me 2 months to get this company to react and they only did so when I got in touch with consumer rights. I am still trying to get a refund for the second hour labour and materials from rightio however they now have stopped replying to my emails. Consumer rights are supporting me through this. Stay away from rightio!

Very bad service, Plumber Paid £174 last week to replace washers on 4 taps and a pipe in toilet. Paid £174 last week to replace a plastic pipe in toilet and replace washers in two sets of taps, this Saturday hot tap in kitchen wouldn't turn off, finally turned most of the way off by turning a dozen times really tightly, it's now been heavily dripping since Saturday lunchtime, I rang Rightio, told no one available until Monday morning, cancelled my plans for Monday to wait in.. Not turned up, unable to phone Rightio as they obviously block calls (keeps cutting off) no reply to my email, I've looked at some very worrying reviews, looks like I'm stuck looking for another plumber just before Xmas in the middle of a pandemic, I'll have to pay again obviously, very disappointed, Don't use this company , they only answer the phone to take your card details in advance, then ignore you, very upset

I ended up paying £174's for a 3 minute job. I should have looked at the reviews on all the websites. There's also online articles in the Guardian.

The plumbers took much longer to come than promised. The most annoying part was that Rightio kept calling me to offer deals on service contracts. I responded by telling them to concentrate on getting me a plumber instead of trying to sell me a contract. The plumbers eventually arrived and decided they couldn't mend the broken pipe (a cable guy had drilled through it) because they did not have the correct gauge pipe with them. So I had to spend the night without central heating. They returned next morning with the correct pipe, which they fitted. Now they had to re-install the radiator they had removed to do the job. They did so, but now the central heating did not work. Eventually, the young man working on (and failing to get working) the central heating said, "It's doin' me 'ead in" and walked out! So, a second night without heating, with them insisting the job was done and me insisting it wasn't, because they had left me with non-functional central heating which had been functioning perfectly before. They got very threatening and I caved in and authorized payment (£548.40 for replacing a few inches of pipe and disabling my central heating). Next day, I contacted another engineer to get my central heating working and he did so, promptly and effectively. Really, you should steer clear of Rightio.

My 91 year old Dad was left without heating for five days during freezing weather in February. The Rightio engineer arrived, diagnosed the problem and left in under an hour but never returned to fix it. The problem was fixed, by a reputable engineer, in a single day for £159 including parts and labour. A couple of weeks later, Rightio took £166 from my Dad's debit card. After many phone calls and emails with customer services, there was no refund of any kind. Awful company, would never contact Rightio again

I advise you to avoid them. I had a leaking shower mixer tap. Upon arrival, the Rightio plumber made me sign to start the clock then said he was going to bring his tools from the car and disappeared for 20 minutes. He removed the shower unit mask and found that he could not fix it. He said the whole shower needed changing. He kept taking photographs and wasting time. He closed the job at 1 hour and 7 minutes. The actual work done was less than 30 minutes. I was charged for two hours (£285.60) just to be told that the shower could not be fixed. I contacted Rightio’s customer services and I was ignored. My experience with Rightio was terrible and I will never use them again. They take credit card details in advance, charge by the hour and then use cheap tricks to lengthen the duration of the visit.

I chose Rightio before Christmas because I wanted the reassurances a large firm give. A great start on the 23rd with a diagnosis and plan. Its now the 10th and after paying £160 still nothing! I have called 4 times this week alone - I keep being promised a call back - never materialises - still no plan of action as to when and what will be happening - and no refund so I can get another plumber - I am left with an elderly mother and no shower. So upsetting - do not use

Called out to report a blocked external drain. Roots occasionally cause a blockage and the problem is easily resolved with a jet. Took time Called out to report a blocked external drain. Roots occasionally cause a blockage and the problem is easily resolved with a jet. Took time off work. No show, no call to advise not coming. Next day sent a poorly equipped plumber (with a hand pump!) who said he only does internal drains.Needless to say his 10 minute effort did nothing. He then suggested I speak to Scottish Water and get them to fix it. Called the Rightio head office to arrange a proper fix. No joy. Pathetic service.

Firstly, has anyone else noticed that 6.6% of reviews on Rightio's site are 1-star, whereas around 50% here (and way more than that elsewhere) are 1-star? I wonder why that is... It's no wonder, though, that this company has £1.1million of liabilities. The engineer spun the very simple job out to last way longer than it should have so he could charge for a second hour (they charge by the hour). On the first visit, the engineer took 30 mins to isolate and remove our shower unit, tell me to source a replacement valve and assure me that the rest of the job would be easily done on his second visit, in our remaining 30 mins. Fair enough. However, I wasn’t there for his second visit, where he somehow took over 45 mins to simply screw in the unit’s backplate, fit the unit and cold/hot feeds and seal everything. The whole unit was dangerously loose when I got home and would have leaked into the wall cavity so I had to get another company to come in and finish the terrible job he did. The second (non-Rightio) plumber confirmed that the standard of the work was appalling and should have taken a quarter of the time (this guy did indeed do a brilliant job in a quarter of the time). I spoke with a Rightio representative on the phone, who seemed to enjoy repeating the phrase "we've concluded our investigation and the plumber said that the times on the sheet are correct". My other half, who was looking after our newborn daughter in the other room during the second visit, unfortunately signed the document without knowing any better, trusting that they'd done a decent job in an appropriate time. Although Rightio has not acted illegally, they clearly take advantage wherever possible. Avoid at all costs!

They came out spent 20 mins looking at our shower, told us it didn't work. We arranged for them to come back and fit a new shower and that's the last we saw of them. We waited in 5 days and nobody turned up. We paid £124 for this. We asked for a refund and they said they had done nothing wrong, us wasting 5 days waiting in for them was unfortunate. We used another plumber who came the next day and charged half the price. Please don't use these look for someone else. Also their customer services said they would contact us within 28 days but it took 41 and I still had to contact them.

Very bad experience. Rightio plumbing service just took money from a loyal customer. Very very disappointed and feel cheated. I called in a rightio engineer for the problem of no water coming into my cold water tap and toilet. The engineer came in suggested a few replacements and then when the problem didn't solve, asked me to call Affinity water and solve it. I was charged £186 for the time and parts, for a job that did nothing to solve my problem. the Affinity water engineer came over and checked the basics and in 5 mins found this was due to a tap outside which was leaking water. The problem was solved. I find it really disappointing that Rightio is exploiting people's trust in their skillful engineers and are just not helping their customers as they Brag on the website. the best part was I called in the engineer on Friday evening for the emergency and they sent an engineer on Saturday and also charged me a weekend rate. How many more ways to make money from poor customers. Very disappointed Rightio customer.

Our boiler broke during a cold snap and we needed someone round urgently to fix it. Rang Rightio, they said someone would be round between 12 - 5pm. No-one turned up, and no call from them to explain. Next day; they finally call and offer to re-book it at a lower cost. Told us plumber would arrive between 9am and 12am. Again no-one turns up and we don't hear from them until 5pm! Luckily we had found another company who in the meantime had sent someone round who had fixed the boiler! Would never use again and I would warn anyone I know about them.

Rightio are over-priced clock-watchers. The plumber that they sent out to me was adequate, but did the bare minimum. The real problem, however, was with the fee. Having told me that I was entitled to an hour of the plumber's time before having to pay any more, they charged me for two hours (total £267.60 for a dripping tap), when I had received only 25 minutes. When I queried,a refund was granted, but their efficiency at taking money out of your account is in stark contrast to their inability to put it back again. Over the next 30 days, I rang their call centre about 10 times, reaching a different person every time, each of whom assured me that the cheque was on the way. At last, after many angry phone calls and a threat of legal action, it finally came. My advice is: find a reliable, respected plumber in your area and avoid these sharks like the plague.

AVOID firstly they use a local phone no.They are not local ,they are based in Birmingham. Secondly they ask for credit card details..dont... just don't!!! The engineer arrived at 11.35 am.He immediately asked me to sign in his time, which I did. He removed cistern cover and said the fill valve was leaking. I asked him to get one and he replied that they were difficult to get and advised that I send a pic to geberit for the part and could fix it myself! I then asked him to remove the fill valve and show me the part. He said “ if I touch it then this is chargeable” .I was amazed that he would not get the part and he left 8 mins later having done nothing to fix my problem. He told me quite categorically, with my wife as witness, that there would be no charge. I found his conduct quite remarkable! Fixit yourself!! He did not leave me a job sheet ,I did not expect one. Being a senior citizen ,I have had many experiences with plumbers but never anything quite like this . He didn’t do any work and didn’t even replace the cistern cover.Informed customer "excellence" dept(what a joke) said it would take 28 days to investigate! Of course they have no intention of refunding my £130 perhaps because the company has recently had a winding up order owing HMRC over £1 mill.and have now entered a corporate voluntary arrangement to pay them at £15k amonth. No wonder their charges are so high. Wrote to CEO..no reply Karma will get you in the end,Mr CEO

With water constantly running though the toilet cistern and our regular plumber unable to come for a week I needed a plumber in a hurry. This company sent someone, though I would question his plumbing knowledge and ability. He said that this bit is broken, no it might be that bit but that he could do nothing because of the way in which the cistern was fitted. He also said it was so old it is no longer made and that the whole of the units, including the wash hand basin, would have to be dismantled in order to replace the cistern if bits were not available. I asked what he would propose to fix the problem but he said that was not his job and that all he could do is switch off the water. When pressed for a solution he suggested that if I could get the replacement part I could ask Rightio to send someone else to fit it.. I was charged £125 of less than 10 minutes and all that was done was that the water was switched off. How silly of me to expect that if was paying for an hour of a plumber's time he would be able to offer a constructive solution. As an addendum regular plumber advised that cistern would be repairable but in view of age we decided to replace. It was not necessary to dismantle the whole unit.

Today I received a Rightio engineer. I explained the water pressure was dropping intermittently and he immediately explained that it's a localised issue, caused by the droughts we're having. He said that he called Rightio on his way to my address to say that might be the problem, and they sent him anyway without passing that message on to me. Righio have charged me £112.80 for 5mins of him being here, and no work was carried out. The engineer didn’t check any of the faucets, none of the fixtures and fittings. He didn’t fix anything. Rightio called me 3 times before he arrived to say he was on his way, yet at no point did they say he thought it might be a localised issue. I will be taking this matter further.

So sorry about your experience, it's shameful how they operate. I fought them and quoted statements from their Terms and Conditions until they fixed the damage they caused. I didnt get my second hour of labour back even after sending some strong emails with the support of Consumer Rights. Next step would have been to take them to court which would have cost me so I gave up, they know this is what consumers will do. Good luck and I hope you get back what you only deserve as a paying customer.
