“Horrible delivery and customer service ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by sabeermohd on 13/01/2014

I ordered a insulated trolley after watching it in bid TV and this was my first purchase thru bid tv. I was charged around 15 pounds for the product including the delivery charges. After 2 weeks of non delivery , I contacted the customer support and they told me they will investigate . I was send a document to sign and send via post. To my surprise after 27 days , I found a parcel in my front garden and it was the product . It seems like The parcel guys simply threw it in my garden and rushed away . I called up the customer service again and told them about it and said I don't need this anymore as it was delivered (rather I would say thrown into my garden) and it was 27 days. I returned the product back . They paid me just the cost of the product and did not pay the delivery charge which I paid (almost 8 pounds) despite doing a bad untimely delivery . I got a similair product from croydon for 10 pounds and I use it now . Well I would suggest anyone looking to buy from bid shopping to be watchful that you may find products at a cheaper price in high streets which you can feel before you buy. They also do not return the delivery charges which I feel is quite high. Customer Service - Bad Delivery service - Poor Overall price - Not worth considering my painstaking experience.

“WHAT 2 YEAR WARRANTY?”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 13/01/2014

Having purchased a Yarvik 10.1 Tablet for my son,and having purchased due to the fact the presenter stated time and time again it comes with 'peace of mind as it has a 2 year Warranty' only to find that this is no longer the case having purchased it for xmas Dec 2012. The Tablet concerned has failed to re-charge properly, overheats, and frezes up for days making it usless which has upset and distressed my Autistic son. I have contacted Bid Tv customer service whom stated it was only one year and then in the next breath it was an extended warranty I paid for ? They have been given over 90 hours only to come back with customer service email, and Oh ' they have no number for Head Office'. I have reported to the ASA for misrepresntation and Misleading sales regarding this Tablet, and seek to pursue legal action New tablets being brought this yera from Yarvik go straight back to Yarvik and have a 2 year warranty ( suprise suuprise?)

“poor quality jumper”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 26/11/2013

I bought a jumper called the Twist Yarn Jumper Multi Coloured with sequins in pink and it has just come, im so disappointed, the finish is terrible, the end of the wool on the neckline is sticking out about half an inch so I tried to push it through and it had not even been tied in a knot so started unravelling, I had to sew that then the wool on both sides of the neck had wool sticking up where it had been finished so tried to sew it down inside of the jumper, side seam has started to unravel so had to sew that up, its too expensive to send back as you don't get your p&p back, wont be buying from again and wish I could get my card details removed. When I ordered a customer service operator kept trying to sell me more items and I kept saying no thank you but they went on and I had to wait because my order was still being processed. Could get much better quality in the high street.

“Gold/Gold- plated”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 21/11/2013

In 2001 I bought a gold chain which I gave to my now late mother. It came back into my possession with the invoice and an estimate for insurance purposes of £600.I took the item to a gold dealer who stated that it was gold-plated and worthless. The original price of the item was £181. I would avoid this company and I will not do business with them again.

“Credit fiasco at Bid Tv”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 22/10/2013

On the 10th October Bid were giving £10 credit for items purchased between 15.00 & 17.03 and again from 17.30 & 18.33. I purchased a Mandarin Weekend Bag Item Ref 000092193908 @ 17.44 (according to BT info on bill). This credit could be applied to our account between 07.45 20th October and 01.30 21st October. On 20th October I ordered a betty boop Sparkling Lamp and did not enter my pin,so an hour or so I got a call back and I tried to trigger the credit I had on my account...I have e-mailed them and using their parrot fashion way of fending off customers no credit can be found.I have e-mailed them once again. Recently I purchased a set of two ceramic pans which were promoted on Deal of the Day as being able to be used without oil.....When the pans arrived the instructions clearly stated "do not dry fry" I spoke to the importer who said this was correct and Bid Tv had clearly miss led (or lied) and I should return them for a refund .Which I got including return postage....

“horrendous customer service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by erdzuk on 27/08/2013

let me start by saying while a lot of what bid sell is overpriced rubbish and you must always do an internet check before you buy some of the stuff is cheap and well worth it,always buy(or at least check)on their web page as it is usually cheaper and free delivery over 50 quid. basically i had a problem when blue magic leaked under my bed so i contacted customer services via the feedback form on the website(i refuse to pay 15p connection then 15p a minute to complain)i had to use the form 4 or 5 times in total but was eventually telephoned by a foreign sounding guy who claimed to be in london,i know for a fact their cs is abroad but he insisted he wasnt and they have some in london. his attitude was terrible and spoke down to me as if he almost did not believe what i was saying,he told me to decanter the remaining blue magic in to a pop bottle and see how much had leaked and he would refund me the exact amount,i said that wasnt good enough and i wanted him to check that the stuff wouldnt melt other bottles like it had these,he then said well ring our suppliers then,i explained that was his job and not mine and he said `all i will do is write down what they say then ring you back and tell you` . . .i was flabbergasted,i said that was his job and i should not be dealing with their suppliers,he eventually agreed he would do and said he would give them my detailss to which i said no but he persuaded me to let him give them my number,i just gave in in the end and allowed it.we went on to discuss damage to carpet but i will touch on this later. i was called by future developments who said there had been a dodgy batch(bid has never told anyone this even tho they sold thousands of bottles) and he would replace it plus a few more,we agreed the number and i waited a week then got back on to them again before they sent it then it was short. now i got back on to bid via email Customer.Services this time asking for a manager to ring me to discuss the fact it was short plus the way i was treated, when they eventually rang he started by making a point of the fact he was from the london office,i havent managed to clarify this yet but he went on to say he would look into my claims and get back to me,this took a few days and when he did he said that i had not been short changed at all and he found the original call to have been handled well,he did not agree that the guy was wrong to tell me to decant it with no knowledge of if it was safe and me saying i did not want to deal with the suppliers did not count once the original guy had persuaded me to do so,he said he worked closeley with him everyday and said he was a good lad,i was stunned, could not believe how he was sticking up for what was a terrible call and terrible service.he would not hear a word against him and said he had done well in the call,i am guessing they are friends. we also talked about the damage under my bed and i explained it was a stain remover so it was not a stain but was sticky,he said so its under your bed and cant be seen i will give you a ten pound voucher,i said its eight quid postage he said well spend over 50 then so you get free postage,i swear to god . . . .this complaint has gone on for 7 weeks with them not ringing when they say, ignoring emails and then saying they have tried to ring but didnt get through and that they have responded but i must not haev seen it,the manager has emailed today saying as far as he is concerned the call with marlon(the original agent),as he has said.fine and it is marlon that has been dealing with my complaint behind the scenes, again i cant believe it,he also said he has put the £10 i refused in my account for 30 days and was there anything else . . . .. i am astounded . . .

“Worst customer service ever”

★☆☆☆☆

written by gaz999 on 14/06/2013

I am still waiting to receive a refund for an item that I first told them about in January 2013 as it was faulty. (it's now mid-June 2013) I have had to phone them 8 times on their £1.53 per call line and each time I just get fobbed off and I'm still waiting for them to "process" the refund. The item that was returned was sent to them in April 2013 and it's already mid-June. Their customer service is so appallingly bad that I wont ever order anything from them again ..... too much hassle!

Erdzuk's Response to gaz999's Review

Written on: 27/08/2013

i refuse to ting their number and instead use the feedback form in the contact part of the website, you can also email them but dont expect an immediate response and when they do they usually deny all knowledge or say the most horrendous customer service is actually quite good and managers seem to be friends with customer service agents and back them to the hilt.

“BID TV, what a load of rubbish!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by KeithAggett on 27/03/2013

I ordered a pair of trousers and when they arrived they were marked as 3XL but only measured XL size, had to return them. Then I ordered 2 led spinner lights for outdoors, when they arrived both the colour changing balls were detached from the spinners, so had to send them back as well. Ordered a 'Yonanas' looked great on the telly when demonstrated, tried it and it was total rubbish. Brought 4 lots of 'hedgehog' gutter protector when there was a '£10 credit' they said you could multi buy so I brought the 4 lots, thinking I had £40 pound credit available to spend until end of March to spend. I could not see the credit on my account when I was online, so I rang customer services to be told that I had had only 10 days to spend the credit and it had only been £10 as there was no credit on 'multi buys' and that it was all in the T&Cs, but who reads the T&Cs. after complaining they did give me £10 credit which I tried using on a solar security light which was £9.99, to be told that the price had to be over £10 to use the voucher! But I could not do any of this on line so I was paying £1.53 for the phone call each time and £7.99 p&p. I have now used the voucher on a steam mop, but they don't tell you have credit, you have to tell them, even then she tried to charge me full price and get me to use the voucher on some other rubbish they were pushing, I had to forcibly insist that the voucher was used on the item I wanted as this was going to be my LAST purchase from Bid Tv, price drop or speed auction or what ever they are calling it now. The moral of my story is don.t shop on Bid tv until you go through the small print witha magnifying glass!!! Why do I have to give a star rating? Terrible is too good for them, oh and I think the phone calls go to India, which sometimes doesn't help.

“easy payment offers”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 01/03/2013

Purchased a yonanas ice cream maker before Christmas from bid TV. As it was being offered at 2 easy payment I took up the offer. On speaking to the ordering point in India I was told It was not on easy payments, when it was clearly being advertised on TV at that very moment and has been for several weeks before. Customer services said that they would honour this method. On trying to send it back I discovered that BID TV took the full amount out of my account. I have now been complaining for 4 weeks about their methods of trading. You cant get in touch by email or direct phone in UK. Customers services in India very poor. Trading standards don't care about the methods used. I have now spent about £50 on calls at £1.53 per minute to customer services abroad. What a nightmare company this is. I have now sent a letter with a covering certificate of posting with my intention of taking legal action if monies for the phone calls are not returned and a reason for taking the full amount out. Personally I think that everyone that has had problems with BID TV should get together and sue.

“untrusted card processing”

★☆☆☆☆

written by landmark1234 on 18/02/2013

I have twice purchased items and immediately preceding those card processing, my id was used to register for online catalogue and over 400 pounds of hair products ordered using my card details. Until Bid TV take away the human card processing, I will not make any purchase from BID TV. Bid TV should have electronic card payment and remove human interface. The people processing ask for so much information enough to use your card where PIN number is not required.
