I have shopped at Sainsbury's for years. Yesterday I went to the deli counter for some sun blush tomotoes. The young man there was lovely I must say. As there the product I wanted wasn't displayed, he went off to see if he could find it for me. He eventually returned (quite jovially which was great) as he had managed to find some for me. However, a lady arrived and informed him (in front of other customers) that he was not allowed to provide the tomotoes for sale (not sure why). I was very frustrated and angry about this as I was unable to obtain what I wanted (I had put some tomotoes in a tub at that time and was told by the lady that I wouldn't be able to purchase them). I would have left the store but wanted the sour dough bread (best I have found to date!) and decided to continue with my shopping.
I have discussed this with friends who used to shop at the store but have had similar experiences and decided to shop elsewhere. I myself have now decided to just buy sour dough bread at the store and then pop round the corner to another shop.
Terrible customer service!
A very regrettable shop indeed.
