Some time ago, I purchased a trial box of assorted luxury chocolates from Hotel Chocolat which were absolutely delicious - no problems so far. When I first took their trial pack, I specifically requested that I did not wish to be emailed, mail marketed or contacted since membership requires that you cannot buy on an 'as and when needed' basis which is what I would have preferred. Despite my specific wishes, reinforced with a number of emails and calls to their rather inappropriately named Customer Service Team, I received a marketing call from them yet again today. Despite trying to politely end the call by stating that I would only buy from them on an 'as and when required' basis, the young lady apologised for the call but then went on to say - 'Whilst I've got you on the phone, can I discuss our special Christmas offers ....!!!'. This was - and is! - the last straw! I have now emailed them YET AGAIN asking that I be removed from their databases with IMMEDIATE EFFECT. I would score their products 5-star - no question! As for their Customer Service Team - 1-star is being very generous. AVOID at all costs and just buy what you wish from their retail stores but BEWARE of giving them any contact details unless you are prepared to be plagued by calls.
