I was quite excited buying Bissell 42A8E Steam & Sweep from Argos (for £99). But although it works fine and it's very easy to use, I regret buying it. In the instructions it says vacuum floors first for best results and for that I'd rather use my hoover with the hard floor attachment as it's much lighter and easier to squeeze into tight places. Bissell Steam and Sweep is not a proper hoover, so its dustbin will need emptying more often.
It steam cleans well, but it's quite heavy/chunky and hard to manoeuvre especially for someone petite (like me!) or elderly. I wish I had bought a lighter steam mop only (not this steam and sweep combo).
The steaming left my laminate and tiles a bit wet/damp, but much less than a mop would. It dried very quickly. It did a great job, especially on the tiles.
Although the wooden floors are left disinfected and clean after steam mopping, every now and then the laminate will need to be wiped with floor wipes containing chemicals/oils or mopped with laminate cleaning liquid diluted in water (e.g. Pledge) to restore shine, I think, so don't throw away your mop and bucket just yet!
