Sony Xperia Z3

Got my Sony Xperia Z3 Compact about 8 months with Vodafone. Upto this phone I loved Sony but this is the worst phone I have ever owned.

Straight away notice it's signal reception was worse than my previous phone (Motorola Defy) and to stop calls breaking up I had to select GSM reception only every time I arrived home (or any area with a weakish signal) and use wifi for the internet. The phone seemed incapable of detecting the 3g signal was not good enough and use the gsm signal instead!

Then after 3 months the proximity sensor failed, not long after this I found the srceen could not be turned off so the battery life was halved.

So I had to send the phone away to be repaired which meant the phone was wiped clean and all data lost.

Then about 3 weeks ago I noticed a crack in the back running from the camera hole to the far corner, It was very hard to see so I don't know when it happened but I have NEVER dropped the phone. Finally about a week ago I had the phone in my front pocket whilst laying on soft grass and rolled over onto my front, heard a crunch, inspected the phone to find both front and back crazed. I know they are glass but I could not believe how fragile it was, I am not a large guy and I certainly did not feel the phone dig into me or anything like that.

Whats more Sony repair/support refuse to tell me if this damage may be covered by the warrantee, I have to send it to them and if they decide it is not I have to send them £20.54 just to get my phone back unrepaired if I am not happy with their quote. This was an expensive phone and I am peed off enough with it without having to put a load more money into it!!! It has totally trashed my opinion of Sony.

So all in all will not be purchasing Sony again!

Having owned this phone, I can confidently say it hold its own against many revered smartphones, even the more recent ones. From the fast and steady performance to its being waterproof alongside an amazing display and sufficient storage, this is a phone I can recommend to anyone. The only downside appears to be the LCD screen- mine cracked while in my pocket while under no physical stress.

Getting straight to the point - in 2 years from new my Z3 has incurred a shattered back cover (in pocket of loose clothing, no known impact or stress), and more recently the screen and back cover detached from the chassis.

Both failures occurred without an obvious cause, leading me to conclude that this phone is neither rugged or of good build quality.

It is not assuring that a phone sold as waterproof can spontaneously fall apart... Leading me to question for how long the integrity of the seals were compromised.

Sony have a great product the only problem is the screen breaks because the build quality was sacrificed for the price. You can not replace the screen yourself because you need to heat it to 150 degrees and the digitizer is attached to the screen.

It cost me 104 pounds to repair. I would not buy a Sony phone again because it is a constant worry even with a case and screen protector.

Great battery life, lovely form, beautiful design - won't be going back to iPhone again.

Its design is glossy that makes it slippery. Only smartphone to have IP68 certification. It has round power lock key , camera shutter release key & volume rocker key. Its HD content is very sharp. Camera is very fast & much better than other flagship smartphones. Video recording is excellent. It has many applications like Movies , Album , Playstation application too which helps to connect with playstation 4 games on your mobile. It is the best smartphone with a plenty of battery life & good camera.
