Got an S2 through orange on upgrade in Feb 2012. First one didn't work at all. The next two intermittently corrupted my SD card, the last one's wifi failed. Each time Orange arranged a repair or replacement. After being offered the fifth replacement, I contacted Orange, who said they only controlled the sim services, my problem was with Samsung UK. Contacted their call centre, who were very polite and apologetic, however when they tried to put me in touch with anyone who could actually do something, no-one ever picked up the phone. Finally gave up in disgust and bought myself out of the contract.
