The source widepac is a hydration system that can be placed into a backpack so you can drink via a hose without having to open your bag -similar to Camelbak and Platypus etc. I've used several different brands over the years and have found this one to be excellent. The advantages of the wipepac are: 1. the entire end opens, rather than just a small screw lid - this may not sound like much but it so much easier to clean and to dry 2. the hose can be unclipped/ clipped or changed, even whilst the pouch is full this is very handy for putting the pouch into your bag and means you can refill the pouch without risking soaking your bag or having to pull the whole hose out 3. The mouthpiece is easy to use and locks closed easily so there is no risk of leaks. I can manage mine easily with ski gloves on I use mine for skiing, cycling and hiking and its great. If your skiing or boarding I would recommend buing an insulating cover for both the pouch and the hose as the fluid inside can freeze otherwise
