Prior to delivery I had constructed a huge concrete slab and blocks exactly to the specification of the bearer plan supplied by Dunster. I intended the garage to sit off of the ground as I am using it for a workshop. This will help its longevity.

Day of delivery: Two men, pleasant enough but in too much of a hurry. Consequently, some logs were damaged on walls and edge-dropped on the grass/mud. The first comment was, 'don't ask me anything about construction of the shed as I don't do it'. However, they did place logs in size order which at the time I thought was helpful. Before they left, I checked the bearers against the blockwork. They didn't match as the bearer plan sent by Dunster was incorrect.

When I informed Dunster of this (by email as they will not speak to you), they suggested that I get a quote from a builder to rectify the situation. Impossible - no builder would attend to quote for such a small job. After many days I managed to get a builder to do the job 'cash in hand' for £100 as I was desperate to get the garage built. The delay cost me over a week and many hours of wasted time. They did state that if I sent a receipt that they would refund the £100.

The build: Straightforward enough. However, as the helpful delivery drivers had stacked the logs in size order, one of the first logs I required was under all of the others so I had to move dozens of logs to find it. Not easy when you are looking for dry space to put them. Managed to build all of it myself except for the three purlins and doors.

After sales service: I sent a long email to Dunster outlining the situation they caused which put the build way off schedule and caused me considerable frustration, anxiety and money. I also suggested a goodwill gesture from them. They were not in the least bit interested and in the event didn't honour the £100 refund as I had paid 'cash in hand' without receipt. All of the email responses that I received from Dunster were totally non-committal and verging on inflammatory.

Conclusion: The two log cabins that I am proposing on my site which I had previously favoured form Dunster, will be purchased elsewhere.

Warning: As previous respondents have indicated; if you want peace of mind when you are planning a purchase such as this, go elsewhere.

I have had similar appalling service - absolutely appalling, although the product is ok, had it have been delivered complete. Also, I"ve tried repeatedly to leave an honest review on trust pilot to reflect my experience, with my customer oorder number so they can see i"'m a genuine customer, but DH keep reporting my review and have it removed. I've taken this up with Trust Pilot, who initially asked me to remove a sentence, but once I'd done this, they still will not publish my review, yet are allowing positive reviews to be published. On the day I had my review removed, there were 4 other negative reviews that had been removed. I have lost my faith in on line reviews !
