“Great Little Scooter”

★★★★★

written by uvBaldwin71 on 24/06/2016

I purchased this scooter in 2010 and it handles well over humps bumps hills and any terrain. It is one great little scooter never had any problems with it. Have over 6000 miles on it and just regular routine maintenance. I would tell all my friends to get one.

“2009 150cc T'NG Milano”

★★★★☆

written by HoldenNeville490 on 15/06/2014

I have had a great time on my scoot having put over 5000 miles on it since buying new. I have never had any issues with it and she gets a tune up every spring. She has been in an accident and still runs great Never nay engine troubles at all. I have had to replace the ignition system since the accident and did have to wait some time for the parts to arrive. I need a battery this year but most likely my fault for storing outside in the cold and not removing it for the winter. wouldn't trade her for the world and will ride her till she dies or i do:)

“Good, affordable bike”

★★★★☆

written by on 06/08/2012

The price for a brand new bike can't be beat. At that price I expected parts to be a little on the cheap side. I've had my Milano for a couple of months now and put on over 1,000 km on it. So far it's been really great and the engine purs. The rest of the bike does feel cheaply made, but nothing tightening some nuts and bolts won't fix. I have had one issue where it makes a small squealing sound when I start accelerating from 0-5mph. I brought it to my mechanic and he thinks it might be the belt is loose, but it could just be something else not fighting exactly right. I'm going to take it back in for him to look at. If it turns out to be something bad, I'll come back in and change my review, but so far I would recommend it.

“2005 milano 150 ”

★★★☆☆

written by haffcke on 13/03/2012

Likes; sharp looking, smooth ride, peppy, inexspensive to buy and to operate. Dislikes; had to replace nearly every piece of rubber on it, it keeps discinagrating, hoses, valve stems, intake manifold, gaskits, seals, float in fuel tank, everything rubber. and the tabs that hold the plastic parts togather break off if you look at them wrong. seat is to hard uncomferable, speedo is off by 50%, acording to my GPS it runs about 55 on level ground, i keep battery on tender and still have to replace every year or so, there is no room for a passenger saftly. but what little i do ride it, it's still a joy to ride, i wouldn't trust it to go to far away from home but in my small town it's ok. bought new in 2005, added wind screen, box for rear, luggage carier for front, added a 12v port for GPS, switch for head light (better for cold starts). i have the light green one and it does still look brand new, i only have about 2000 miles on it, only ride april through oct. and then only part time. PS i know some of the spelling above is horrible but could not get my spell check to work, sorry. Phil USA, east TN.

My 2009 TNG Milano 150 is great...if it works. My scooter died on day one. And has died multiple times since then. If it works, it works well. However, one out of every 5 ot 6 attempts, it will either not start, be weak, or simply cut out while riding (very unsafe).

This is my second Chinese scooter to have the same problem, and it seems to be a common one. The answer - buy Japanese, Korean or Italian.

Also, the dealer for TNG (Big Ass Motors in Northridge, CA) was helpful at first, but then turned into a nightmare. They act as though it's my fault and now refuse to honor the warranty.

like EVERY product whether it be a motorcycle or a fountain pen...there are good ones and there are bad ones....for whatever the reason. BUT, that does NOT make them ALL good or ALL bad...as one can see from the numerous postings...I commute 20 miles a day on My scooter. and other then a flat tire not one problem with the TN'G Milano 150cc ..Does that make all the tng scooters reliable of course not. Its the service that counts. I am in the service industry as well and I am SOOOOOO tired of people panning an entire brand because they have a lemon. Come on people get a grip.

written by gun slinger on 24/06/2009

I've recently purchased a 150cc TNG Milano and it's been horrible since the get-go. Bolts rattled loose in the first 100 miles and the clutch was sticking. It wouldn't go over 35 mph when it should do about 55-60 mph. I was also told that by the dealer that the brake pads were of extremely poor quality and will soon need replacing. After 100 miles!!! Geez.... The rear left turn signal light burnt out within days and the muffler is already rusting out. And to top it off, the gas guage is not functioning so all of these things need to be fixed. I'm not impressed at all with this scooter. Even though it is inexpensive, I'm selling it and buying a real quality scooter. It just isnt' worth the money at any price - especially since it's been in the repair shop over and over and the riding season is passing by.
I do not recommend this scooter to anyone.

I have the TN'G Milano for about 6 months now and I absolutely love it. It rides well, has wonderful handling, great torque. Im selling it now due to my commute being longer then what a scooter will do, and it will be greatly missed.

The TN'G Milano 150 150 cc looks nice. If you love to have your scooter in the shop more than on the road, go for it. Also... I needed brake pads and couldn't get the right ones from my dealer for my Milano. Same goes for the CDI. Apparently they changed manufacturers about three times and owners of the previous factory models are out of luck on getting the right parts. And of course, TNG never tells you this.

written by Highperdrive on 07/03/2009

I've had my TN'G Milano 150cc for 1 year and it still works perfectly. I live in MN so it sits in my shed for 4-5 months of the year. I put some stabilizer in the Gas tank and put it away for the winter where it endured -60 degrees and it started PERFECTLY that spring, the battery still had a full charge. I have had NO problems with my scooter, it still gets looks all the time. With the 150 cc it has excellent low end torque. I can stop on a dime with the disc and drum brakes. The only thing I adjusted was the carburetor so it would idle faster. A much better deal then to throw away another $600 to $1000 just to get the honda name on a scooter. Its hard to find a way to change the transmission oil yourself because the fill hole is sideways I just rigged an oil can to squirt fresh oil into it. And there really isn't much information in the manual but I'm pretty good at figuring it out on my own because its not that complicated of an engine. Overall I would ABSOLUTELY recommend getting this scooter. Just check on the reliability of your dealer because their the ones who do the final inspection and put it together. I love this scooter and have had no problems with it (knock on wood) Happy Riding!!

“LONG-TERM OWNER REVIEW: I brought home my first...”

★★☆☆☆

written by JCSaltLaker on 21/12/2008

LONG-TERM OWNER REVIEW: I brought home my first scooter, a TN'G Milano 150cc, in May of 2005 and drove it for the next three years, racking up over 7,000km (4,000+ miles). This was my **daily commuter** (9-miles roundtrip) for 7 out of 12 months in each of the 2005, 2006, and 2007 riding seasons...plus the occasional picnic/joyride up the canyons near Salt Lake.

I noticed design problems immediately--the front fender rubbed against the tire when going over bumps; the fuel gauge would read full for a few miles then rapidly drop to "E" even though there was well over 1/2 tank left (within 1 year, gauge stopped working entirely); and the stock battery failed within 3 months in spite of my regular driving and diligent charging--but the sheer pleasure of learning to ride in the open air made these problems seem manageable during the first few months. That peppy 150cc engine didn't hurt either.

In the spring of 2006, I gently dropped the bike on its left side while stopped to adjust my chin strap. This low-impact "crash" visibly bent the kick-start lever. Shortly afterward, the 2nd battery failed, rendering the electric-starter inoperative. I had to kick-start everytime which caused the (bent) lever to quickly degenerate. In short order, I had no ignition mechanism whatsover. Forced to replace the battery yet again, I had the dealer try to fix the kick starter...to no avail. Cheap metals were the likely culprit.

In September of the same year, the engine cut out while I was in traffic and I had to have my bike towed to the dealer's shop. The problem was a major carburetor failure...odd for a regularly maintained/filters-changed scooter. The dealer, delayed partly by a move to a new location and partly by slow parts availability from TN'G, was unable to complete repairs until November...OUCH! I had no 2nd car so I was basically screwed transportation-wise for almost 2 months.

Other problems:

**Turn signal switch repeatedly jammed
**Charging receptacle plug fell behind panels
**Rear tire tread wore off of cheap tires after only 3,000 miles

By the time I sold my scoot in Feb '08, the plastic lenses covering the speedometer and gas gauge were badly jaundiced and degraded such that the new owner could barely read them...cheap-a-licious.

I'd say I spent about $350/year in repairs and maintenance--though my BIGGEST GRIPE is all the riding time I lost while my scoot sat in the local dealer's shop waiting for parts and waiting for the long repair queue to clear.

My out-the-door purchase price was about $2,400. For about $200 more, I could have bought a nice, quality Yamaha Vino 125cc...coulda, woulda, shoulda. The '05 Milano is a nice-looking scoot with decent oomph, but overall it's just too pricey to justify the headaches that come with it.

I would not recommend this bike to anyone. In the second month the bike began to stall on me out of nowhere. I would be in the middle of a busy road and the bike would suddenly come to a hault. This continued. I took it into the shop and everything they did to rectify it wouldn't work. This was very dangerous for me especially at night alone in a desolate area. I am hoping to get a new one and sell it as I want to get compensated for all the loss time and pressure I have endured over these 3 months. I am shopping around for a bigger and better bike now after getting a lemon.

This TNG Milano is rubbish. Especially the electrical. Which kinda fits in with the rest of the TNG family of lame scooters. I'm a former dealer and doing warranty work on TNG scooters nearly broke our bank. Thank goodness we're no longer associated with TNG. And these are the good points. I think you get my drift. Stay away from this chinese junk that TNG professes has been final assembled in the USA. It's meaningless and baseless.

It's been a good commuter bike for the past three years, but I just rolled over 9K and it seems like it's on the downhill slide. It might become a project bike, but it's not what I'd call high quaility. The dealer now recommends the People 150 as the premire bike in the category.

Avoid at all costs.... even at the prices they are flogging these scooters it IS NOT WORTH IT! Why pay so little to have it in/out of the shop all during the season you want to be riding? The dealer complained about lack of corporate support from a technical point of view (nobody at head office can provide tech support) and inability to get parts. All in all, it seems they are short on cash, short on expertise and short on quality.

Quality throughout for a "cheap" scooter. TNG keeps a close eye on quality control from their manufacturers. Although similar models are seen with different badges on them I'd be leery of like scooters without the TNG brand name on it.
Always starts and runs perfect over the two years owned. what more can you ask for?

Engine seized at 1000 kilometers and the manufacturer wouldn't give me a replacement engine. The valves go out of adjustment every 300 miles. Rear inner fender broke off and got stuck underneath the wheel, causing me to crash. The left control switch broke for the 3rd time. The fuel sending unit broke twice already. I am NOT happy with this bike.

★★★★★

written by Cookees on 02/09/2005

I purchased this TN'G Milano 150 scooter in May and got a great deal. My dealer came off the MSRP signifcantly. I have some 2,700km on it now and the scooter is achieving 80mpg. Top speed is right arround 60mph and the scoot feels most comfortable between 50 and 55. No major problems to report. Milano's are noted for their tall seat position. This is awkward for some and can be a bit tiresome in stop and go traffic. This would be a great bike for a tall rider.
TN'G's are reported to be one of the best of the Chinese scooters available and sold exclusively through a dealer network. They have just commenced building the bikes here in the USA and are introducing a new scooter named the "Low Boy", a Honda Joker clone.
