***WARNING - DANGEROUS KIDS PRODUCT ALERT***

KMart (and others) are selling these lab kits containing dangerous chemicals to our unsuspecting kids.

Two of my Grandkids (11 and 10 years old) purchased these kits earlier today and when we got home and opened the boxes, I was horrified to read the ENCLOSED warnings and safety instructions.

With great concern I supervised them as they began to experiment, wearing the supplied PPE (Goggles, mask and gloves).

In no time I got very concerned, especially after a portion of the chemicals got onto my skin (when I was cleaning up behind them) and it began to burn, not irritate - BURN my skin!!

After a few more minutes and the first experiment failed, with lots of spillage, I called a halt and they were most unhappy when I confiscated the lot, bagged and binned it.

Am going back to Kmart tomorrow to get their pocket money refunded and lodge an official complaint with them.

These kits are dangerous!!!

There is a "caution" on the back of the box with vague information but it is only when you read the ENCLOSED detailed pamphlet (double A4 sized) that you see what a great risk your kids are taking in using it and that it is also dangerous to pets, bystanders and younger siblings!!

A Google search reveals lots of companies selling this rubbish but there are no safety warnings anywhere apart from "Use under adult supervision" (shirking any blame?)
