I have today made a simple error by accidentally transferring funds into my newly opened account twice. Having spoken to the representative on the 0845 number he could clearly see the error but claimed it could not be corrected.
Thankfully having explained the problem to a "real bank" (Nat West) they have offered to assist in claiming these monies back should the transfer go through.
Once corrected the Post Office account will be closed.
