I traded my old navman in 3yrs ago as NAVMAN said i could no longer get map updates!!!! I then foolishly purchased an S90i and was told this was a highend model and i would beable to get map updates whenever i wanted. little do I know that 2009 was the last year this unit had a map update. I just found this out from Navman as I wanted anew set of maps. BE very careful when buying from NAVMAN BUYER BEWARE NOT Happy Navman

I had the Navman S90i for more than e year, I had to send it off for repairs twice (camera not working, battery life counting in miliseconds. Still the same issues despite everything including motherboard has been exchanged. Now out of warranty and I am stuck with a faulty device. Map update causes loading failure with some maps. I recently used it in France where it continuously tried to convince me to drive into unsurfaced agricultural tracks despite setting on fastest route and preference of motorways. All in all I had about 6 weeks of fully working use in more than a year, hence my verdict: this is a glorified piece of junk which I would not touch ever again.

I have travelled 60% of uk, 40% of france, and 80% of Italy and it has never made a mistake in the 18 months that I have used it.
It warns me when I am over speeding It finds me an hotel when I am tired
finds me a retaurant when I am hungry and finds a petrol station when my car is thirsty ; I wanted to by another for a friend and I cannot find one WHY?

Purchased to replace a TomTom this has been a revelation - quick to pick up the satellite, clear directions, very quick re-routing if you miss a turn. Price wise it was much cheaper than the TomTom or Garmin with the same features.
Initial set up with NavDesk took a while, as it updates all of the maps and so forth with the latest versions although this does mean that you are as up to date as possible when you start. The ability to load only those countries you are likely to use saves memory too.
Early days yet but very impressive so far.

Bought the best spec, but is really rubbish. The navman camera database is well out of date. navpix is a good gimmick. Arrive somewhere, take a snap and you can go back to it. limit of 12000 POI. means its hard to load a properdatabase of UK cameras.

Spending £190 on a Navman S90i you would expect a top notch system...not this one.
First impressions aren't good, it feels like it cost pennies to design and build. Very flimsy and feels as if it would explode into a million pieces if dropped. The menus are awful, way too overcomplicated and not designed well at all. The camera is fantastic, though. Just take a picture and it remembers where it was taken so you click the pic and it takes you there, great idea!
Pity the rest of it is so bad. The bluetooth needs paired everytime you turn it on and the traffic system doesn't work in NI so I've paid for stuff I can't use.
Bringing it back to Currys now.
Buy a TomTom instead.

Disappointing performance from the Navman S90i. It has European mapping but always asks which country you want to use first. So very annoying if you have to put in UK every time. Didn't 'hold' bluetooth connection with phone so had to 'find' phone every time (also telephone numbers had to download every time). I have a relatively new but very popular phone but it wasn't compatible with the S90i (so bluetooth connection useless anyway!). It's gone back after two days!

Good instructions, guidance.
Very easy to use and useful display, zoom and angle shift while driving.
However, took me a while to know that certain soft keys need to be pushed over 2 seconds to manipulate features easily. (Example Volume and Bluetooth).
Best system I used. Previous devices were Garmin, Medion.

The Navman S90i is full of bugs. It keeps freezing. It keeps resetting and then freezing. It takes forever to find a signal. It always appears to be 30-50m away from my actual location. Save yourself some money and do some research before you buy a sat nav system....I wish I had. I've now sent it back.

Me too. What hurts the most is that there are brand-new (2012) maps available for other models that were out at the same time as the S90i and cost less to buy. How hard can it be to make it available across the range?
