From all the map sites this takes the cake. Mapquest and all the others have given me longer and less direct routes. Google maps is definately the way to go in my book. Recommend to all. Gregg P

This is probably one of the most useful and ubiquitous tools on the web. I am yet to find someone who doesn't rely on it for long or short trips. The ease of use, the ability to save for future reference and so many other tools make it incredibly useful for me.

Best thing on the internet ever. I would probably be lost right now if it weren't for Google Maps!

A good example of where the Google map API platform simply fails to deliver when users looking for accurate cycle directions for the US, though I have seen some good examples for the UK too. The route takes users looking for a cycle route from Philadelphia to Newyork straight across the North Athlantic ocean !!

Business's and developers beware of the basic google location solutions. very funnny just how bad they are, I will stick with Bing and ViaMichelin.

Every Google map experience I have using their main website or it being used for business has been very poor.
The accuracy of the locations and the directions are very limiting. It is very cheap and the mapping date is very out of date too. The FREE API is just a basic mapping solution.

Visited Glasgow after absence of many years: have just checked google maps and found that they are out of date, and therefore useless for passing on information to family and friends. Highly disappointing, to say the least. Tag line below map shows 2009 - clearly not true as of last week's evidence of own eyes.

Very handy for checking to see if addresses actually exist and for getting directions for one place to another.

Google Maps is a useful alternative to Multimap, with Google search facilities. It is quick with easy scrolling. It also has maps of Europe and aerial/satellite views can be overlaid.
