“Ran by a bizarre pushy woman ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by AmariHanley231 on 22/10/2018

I applied for a job through this lady and everything seemed fine up until two days before my interview where she pushed and pushed for me to call her to talk through what to say in the interview. She said this could of taken all evening! However I told her that I appreciate the help but I am confident enough and don't have a few hours to spare. This resulted in her then texting me very bizarre messages about how I've wasted her time and I will never make it in life if this is now I treat people. I know I should be putting more about my experience with her, but everything was honestly fine until I said no to spending all evening talking to her. Strange woman and I think I had a lucky escape.

We have worked with our Clients for many years and most candidates are very grateful to be given an interview prep for 20 minutes or so the evening before so that they may go through questions with us and know what to expect at their interview. It helps to boost a lot of candidates' confidence so they feel they are performing at their best on the day.
It is very sad that consultants who give up their evenings and their own time to help candidates are criticised in this way.

“Terribly run. Left her office in tears”

★☆☆☆☆

written by DannaAyers on 29/08/2018

One star is too little for this rude agency. The lady who runs it put me forward for a job a few months ago but before this she called me and criticized everything on my cv. She said it was lucky I found her as my cv is not great. she spoke although she was my only hope! When I went to her office to complete the tests she commented on my appearance and that I should have made more of an effort. However I do not wear make up as I feel it does not define who I am. She told me that I need to wear more make up and too even undo a top button or two as that is what male managers are looking for. "Ugly girls don't get good jobs" were her exact words and when I questioned her she repeated that she has been in this business 30 plus years and that I know nothing. Needless to say I did not get the job and I can only assume that she had perhaps criticized me to the company themselves because she did not like the fact I do not want to be portrayed as an object to managers. This woman claims to care about getting you the right employment but she reduced me to tears which is not what I expect from someone who claims to care. If you value yourself and your own state of mind at all stay well away.

We find this account very disturbing and are not aware that any candidate has ever left our office in tears.
We work to a strict code of conduct and nearly all of what is written here is deemed totally unacceptable by us and is certainly not recognised or condoned by any of our staff.
We have a complaints procedure in place which is shown to all candidates when they register and they are welcome to approach us with any comments good or bad so we may continue to provide the best service we can to candidates and clients. I invite this candidate to get back in touch so they may discuss this further with one of the management team.

“Avoid”

★☆☆☆☆

written by 357McDonald on 09/01/2018

Agency forever losing paperwork like time sheets, run by an extremely rude and curt lady. My experience is the same as another lady who worked for them. Plenty more pleasant, friendlier and efficient agencies in London.

This account is completely untrue.
We only pay temporary workers on receipt of a signed timesheet in accordance with our Terms and Conditions and as this candidate is not complaining that she has not received a payment, we must have received her timesheet.
All timesheets received are scanned and saved electronically and are never lost.

“Do not use this agency ”

written by Fournierin104 on 11/12/2017

I was warned about this agency by a girl i met on an assignment and I did not realise how right she was and I now know what she meant. There are hundreds of agents in London and step over this one and do not use.

Please get in touch and let us know what the issue is here. Candidates are just as important to us as Clients as we cannot operate without either and we are very proud of the fact that the majority of our candidates actually come to us from recommendations.
If you did not enjoy your experience with us it would be really useful to receive constructive feedback on email.
Thank you

“Sent me to a job where I was assaulted, then failed to...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Fournier359 on 16/09/2016

As the other posters have said, avoid this agency like the plague. The agent put me forward for a job, then told me that only I was being offered a second interview so "the job was practically [mine]". Turned out that the company was seeing other people for second interviews. I was offered the job, then was assaulted by one of the managers at the Christmas party. The agent completely failed to support me in this matter - all she cared about was getting further work from her client. Despicable person. I'm now suing the company where I was assaulted.

It is perfectly normal for Clients to see several people for 2nd interview and jobs are not guaranteed until a written offer has been made to the candidate.
Regarding the alleged assault which took place several months after the candidate was placed permanently with the Client , no member of Legal Leap Recruitment was at the Christmas event where the alleged attack took place and therefore we showed support but total impartiality to both Client and Candidate alike.

“Outrageous Attitude! ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 06/05/2016

Applied for a job online and was called into the agency to register. All well and good until the 'constructive critism' part where I was told that my accent would stop me getting jobs, I had lazy speech and I spoke like a teenager. I then had to sit there while she did a shocking impression of me where she mimicked any word I had send with a T! This was bad enough but then I was told that when I go for an interview I would need to wear more make up! I left the office feeling completely disgusted and shocked at her behaviour and I wouldn't recommend her company to anyone!

How absolutely awful! How critical, how demeaning, how abusive. Not professional at all.

Unfortunately it actually got worse after I posted this review.

I received a voicemail from the person (I believe I am not actually allowed to say names so from now on I will refer to the person I dealt with as Mrs X) stating that she had managed to get me an interview. I would like to also point out that Mrs X left quite a rude voicemail stating that this was the second voicemail she has left. Although I was pleased about the interview I decided to go ahead with my complaint. I emailed Mrs X in what I believe was a polite yet to the point description of how I felt the meeting went. I then received an email back from Mrs X, who 'apologied if I had felt offended' then went on to say that the dress I wore was 'very short' then in not so little words she actually felt she wasnt in the wrong and her client has in fact decided to withdraw their offer of an interview. Something I felt was very suspicious although Mrs X denies that my complaint had anything to do with this and states it's due to the test results I got on a Microsoft Word test she had me do in her office, it is still something I find to be very strange.

When asked who I could contact to take my complaint further I was given a name, however this person has no email address or telephone number I could ring but I could write a letter if I wanted. This of course I was not happy to do because I honestly believe my letter would go straight in the bin.

I then went back to Mrs X feeling that she hadn't address any of my points and after a ramble of an email back I was told not to email her anymore.

If I had to sum the whole experience up I would say it was disgusting, disgraceful and an embarrassment for the company. I will definitely not be recommending the company to anyone!

“Treated poorly!”

★★☆☆☆

written by Smith486 on 18/11/2014

I haven't seen any reviews for this recruitment agency. Recently applied for a job for an Admin Assistant role and it was through them. Manager called, everything went ok. Went to meet her. She showed such disappointment in my appearance/physical appearence. I must have not met her pre-conception of what she had for me. I have naturally pale skin and dark hair. Wore a typical black bussiness blouse, with black shoes, a dark green/dark blue skirt and grey tights (as it's freezing in London). Wore nude/minimal make-up. Was told I looked "gothy". Even though I had been to other interviews and employers did not express that opinion. She did not explain how I was being "gothy". She did not offer any her advice on what I should actually wear. Recruitment states that they give constructive advice. But who I dealt with just basically insulted me and told me to sort it out before the next appointment without any pointers on what I should sort out. It seemed obvious she was expecting a completely different person (though I had no idea what) because no way someone who dresses "gothy" (By the by it's not my fashion sense. I'm actually quite colourful) should not be able to be that good at a phone conversation. Stated that she has to tell many "youngsters" (she used that word) on what they should wear and it's a learning curve for them. In a way that made it come across that it was beneath her. Though my argument to that is. What I have been told by recruiters/employers/school, wear a sensible top/blouse (ideally in black), wear black shoes, dark tights and a dark trousers/skirt (if you want to add colour, don't make it dramatic) with a blazer. I'd only recommend it you fit a certain image/standard of appearance (though that is not stated) if your willing to work to be that of image. Then go ahead. But Manager came across as fake, standoffish and higher than thou. Felt very insulted, was afraid to defend myself. Left the office crying.

We are very concerned by these comments and are very sorry that you felt you had a bad experience with us. Did you contact the agency directly and follow the complaints procedure?
