Awful service & keep trying to overcharge us for everything. I have been living in an mtvh managed property for over 15 years, and despite the heating & hot water system being communal for this entire time, every time we have an issue with it, anyone who reports it has to fight their 'customer service team' to get them to deal with it (their other buildings must have each flat have its own boiler). Also, when someone came to repair my HIU, they, without telling me, completely replaced my old one & tore out all the flooring/pipe boxing in the cupboard & left big holes in the floor. They told me someone else would come to do the carpentry, but after 3+ years of chasing are now saying this is my responsibility, even though it was caused by maintenance of an item in the flat that they are responsible for. They try & overcharge us for everything, and when they do any work in the building they leave holes/damage behind them. Despite assuring us that the emergency button in the lift works, it has never connected with anyone who's been able to help & many people have been trapped in there. They replaced our door entry system with one that doesn't work properly and despite assuring us for years that we have cctv (and them charging us for it while failing to provide the police with evidence when things get people get assaulted in the communal areas) we recently discovered that there was no power supply to the cameras, so they've been lying to our faces about caring about our safety. This is just a tiny selection of the issues we have - avoid dealing with this company at all costs.

Having bought a leasehold flat, with numerous issues with MTVH within the years of ownership, I sold. MTVH failed to communicate my service charge refund at every step of the process. They received the Notice of Transfer from the buyer's solicitor, but failed to process it, telling me that they had never even been made aware of the sale MORE THAN SIX WEEKS POST COMPLETION. Absolutely absurd - their communication is woeful and, even when they do respond, they don't properly answer any query put to them - they simply respond with generic details. I would advise to stay clear of MTVH is you have the chance. They fail to maintain the property unless a complaint is filed, they give factually incorrect information on a regular basis, and make ridiculous decisions which they don't rectify; a la painting interior hallways, then drilling massive holes in the walls to install insulation, and failing to make good afterwards.

After buying a house for nearly £400,000 I have been met with a very big surprise when handing over the property to myself from Metro. The house was very dirty and the amount of defects we have found up until this day 5 months on is appalling. The person assigned to our property to conduct demonstrations and walk around checks was very unprofessional and decided to cut corners enabling him less hassle and less work also equalling metropolitan to save lots of money they can push back to the buyer, blaming them for the damages. When putting this information back to metro to investigate and to clarify on the points I have raised, they disregarded my integrity and took the agents word, with no proof of these legal binding contracts being undertaken correctly. I am now left with bills to replace damaged areas of a property I have not long brought and metropolitan have advised that I did not report them a week after on a brief walk around check so now they are my responsibility. On the walk around check that lasted no longer than 20 minutes, we walked around internal and external parts of the 4 bedroom property and the agent assured me that I had a year to report all findings. Following on a couple months later when cleaning area’s, I find deep scratches on a hob, a small hole in the flooring and some other problems, all rejected and thrown back at me. They have refused to do the work and claimed I had a thorough walk around and the evidence was documented, however no parties signed anything and i agreements were put in place. It saddens me that this has not only happened to me but I have spoken to a few other people and it has also happened to them. Shocking. Be aware when buying a property.

I am a tenant in one Metropolitant Housing Association’s apartments in Keyworth in Nottingham city. Soon after l moved in I noticed that the bath keeping Blocking taking more than 24 hours to completely drain away water. They keep sending out engineer to come and sort it out, and it has happened more than 7 times less than 2 years of living in the apartment. Each time, the engineer told me that there’s nothing blocking the bath that it’s due to poor construction of the drainage system. The engineer have written to Metropolitan about the issue but nothing has been done about it. At present my bath had been blocked since on Thursday 02/03/2023 night, I called Metropolitan to report it and I stated that I am not able to shower after I return back from work, I stressed that I work in hospital and I look after Covid patients that it’s important that I shower myself before getting in bed. The staff I spoke to insisted that the earliest she can send a plumber out is Thursday 09/03/2023 that she cannot put my complaint down as an emergency The female staff told me that I should try and unblock the bath myself despite explaining to her that it has been ongoing issues before I moved in and that their engineer have written to metropolitan to informed Metropolitan about what the real issue is. The staff just didn’t care and refused to put me through to the manager, including refusing to give me the telephone number of and the email address of the housing officer . The staff seemed to be enjoying my pain and the mental stress not being able to shower was causing me. I have a teenager living with me, he showered this morning before I returned back from work, it’s now 10:40am and the dirty water still hasn’t drained away since from 06:45am.

I have two separate views on this HA. On the rent account/income general enquiry side of things the team is great! I can't fault them, have always been really helpful and have actually helped me out a lot. HOWEVER, the repairs side of things with this association is a JOKE! The team is rude, useless and unhelpful. I am gobsmacked at the way I was spoken to by one of the managers today, extremely unprofessional and damn right RUDE! I am also expected to pay for some repairs out of my own pocket that wouldn't have needed doing had the houses been put together properly and not just thrown up within a couple of months. All in all if it wasn't for the lovely team in the general enqueries and rent account department I would reccomend avoiding this HA like the plague! Really feel let down and my home is currently a potential hazard to my young child due to repairs I have been trying to get sorted for over a year!

They are the most disgusting and shambles of a housing association landlord from hell. They do not carry out repairs when required . There call centre is a joke. They want your money only and provide nothing except excuses why they cant do something ,they should be providing as a landlord. The only way to get anything done is to take legal action against them. I would advise not do rent from this landlord its a mistake.

when serious safety faults are certified by gas engineers the landlord doesnt take them seriously if it was the council they would take it seriously, i think there is a lot of penny pinching going on. ask them for a repair is like waiting for ever

They try at every available opportunity to fob any essential works off due to financial output . They will do this at risk of heath and safety of tenants . They do not care . They should be held to account . Now they re about to sign a merger with another housing association they will aquire whom have interest int he private sector . In these scenes they charge people 50 quid a month for having a pet etc . They are simply a revenue motivated organisation . ALL the propaganda on their website about equal opportunity etc is juts a front to look as if they're socially minded . They are nothing more than a business . Nothing more nothing less . Corporate . And they do not care to outlay ANY costs with regard to maintaninsace . There staff area all trained to be revenue minded to the tiniest detail . Their contractors are a joke . So bad that they brought them internally . Which in itself is probably a revenue motivated venture in order to create a new company within a company . The repairs are cack handed, sub standard , never organised and random appointments never kept . The customer services team are there to stonewall you from contact with anyone responsible . If you escalate a complaint it will take years . In the end I had to get my councillors and MP involved . They are useless . Money grabbing tight fisted and inept .

I own a leasehold property of which metropolitan are the freeholders and managing agents. They have just repaid £33k to our sinking fund which they took to cover the cost of cyclical repairs two years ago which were not carried out. They charged £1000 to change a cheap light fitting with a similar cheap light fitting, £800 for a small panel of glass in a door to be replaced and the list goes on and on. They installed security gates two weeks ago which still have no lock on so are of no use whatsoever, they just wanted to get the expenditure in before their year end of 31 March. Customer service is appalling and that's if you can get through. Unable to deal with antisocial tenants, 12 of them in a 2 bed flat, even though subletting is not permitted. Avoid like the plague.

i have been waiting 5 days for hot water and heating, my repair was reported and i have been fobbed off everytime i make contact. The customer service team put you through to BSW who then have no clue about your repair and just tell you they will get back to you as soon as they know something. Metropolitan are not interested in any repair they should do and you wait months before it gets fixed. I would never recommenced this housing association.

Lucky you I waited 3 years for them to do my heating hot water system and as of the time of ending my tenancy due to their disgusting behaviour they still had not done it in fact in twenty years they never did my repairs all the repairs were done by me I do have a tip for you become a drug dealer they not only get their repairs done they even get new fixtures and fittings no one else gets, my ex disabled neighbour put in for her toilet to be done she was told to flush it with a bucket as it would take 6 weeks for them to repair her toilet a drug dealer round the corner not only got a repair in 2 weeks she got a whole new bathroom suite.

I would not even recommend Metropolitan Housing Association to a dog, even it were homeless. They appear to be extremely disorganized and some of the staff, especially those of the Nottinghamshire areas rude. disrespectful and patronizing, from my own personal experience. They do not make enough effort to maintain their properties to the required 'decent homes' living standards and they do not seem bothered in doing so. They appear to be rather glib and non-chalant and have a 'don't care' attitude to the welfare of their tenants. Some of their repair staff will turn up at the property you are paying rent for any old time, sometimes without an appointment and you may even get chatted up too, which is definitely not the professional way to conduct any sort of business. Apparently there is a new Chief Executive; I do hope that there will be rapid changes all round and that the properties will be upgraded to the required standards.

I have worked in social care for almost 30years and was appauled at my treatment at M.H the frontline staff are amazing, but, management from team leaders through to area manager are dreadful. Total lack of support and honesty. The management are all childhood friends, challenge one over bad practice and you are ingnored lied to and treated terribly. One manager lulled me into a conversation about my concerns and then secretly recorded what i said and played it to the whole management team. Awful

You do not surprise me GDPR means nothing to these people it is foreign word suggest you do what i did complain to the information commissioners office and the housing ombudsman I did the more people complain officially the more chance someone in authority will launch an official investigation about this slum landlord with tax fiddle status.

The property which I am living in is substandard and when I have tried to report repairs, there is a slow response, with some outstanding, where I have to call the customer service centre repeatedly, to get anything done. I have had a very noisy and leaky boiler for ages yet their plumbers have cleared it as safe! The wall sof the property is extremely thin, so I can hear the neighbour plug the socket into the wall and switch is on, so my property is not condusive to a 'private life'. If I make a formal complaint, which I have done, it appears that there's a lot of spin to blame me as the tenant, ie nitpicking to make themselves look good. This housing association will not admit to the failings in their organization; they seem disorganized and the properties are not up to par. In my opinion environmental health should be involved and there should be an asbestos check on each property as I have got the impression from reliable sources, that there is an awareness that some of their properties contain asbestos, ie do their tenants know about this?

I completely understand your situation.
I am a tenant and metropolitan housing failed to protect my family or move us fabricated evidence lack of repairs Ect with the local authorities where my children were taken in the care system.
Disgusting company.
I have been living with my front door smashed for years nails in my window and a dodgy housing officer.
The most self serving self saving staff unprofessional organisation that existed.
The punishment barracks I call it.
