Great Day Out at Ideal Home Exhibition 2016

I attended the Ideal Home Exhibition 2016 today. I was a bit apprehensive due to some of the reviews I had read before going, but I'm now writing this review to dispel the negativity I had read.

Arrived easily via the road network and parked onsite(tad expensive, but if anything, slightly below standard London prices), as Olympia is perfectly located just off major links. There is a tube station right outside should you wish to choose public transport.

Collected goody bags, full of the standard money off vouchers, but also food/washing/cleaning/cosmetics samples. Quite pleasantly surprised at the quality/quantity after reading previous reviews. You can also collect bags from points inside the venue(literally as many as you can carry)

An abundance of varied furniture/Home displays, new technology was not very well represented, but I guess that's what the separate home Tech events are for?

I hadn't been to an IHE in quite a while, so I was expecting the food experience of old, expensive sandwiches, overcrowding and nothing else to eat, but WOW they now have multiple food outlets ranging from top end to an independant food market. I ate at the top end of the scale which was great with a bit of piece and quiet, however I hadn't seen the food court beforehand, and I was a bit gutted once I had smelt and seen the amazing varied options available

Even though it was a bank holiday weekend, the crowds were not overwhelming and the venue coped extremely well

In a nutshell, a great day out, with plenty of things to see and do. The sales reps are mostly non pushy apart from some of the smaller stalls, but a polite "No thanks" to the over eager suffices

Definitely recommend if you're looking for a bit of inspiration
