I find myself catatonic with rage AGAIN having wasted a full hour this morning putting right Virgin Media screw ups.

In brief, after being without a phone service for a week, an engineer called and discovered that a previous Virgin Engineer had put a screw through our telephone cable. This ultimately necessitated them pulling a new cable and more inconvenience to us.

The good news is that I was in touch with their call centre in Swansea. They clearly haven't been on the customer service training course because they were apologetic helpful and polite. They credited my account with a month's service and assured me that there would be no payment taken for the December invoice.

But guess what? It left my account today. So I have just spent an incredibly frustrating hour on the very expensive phone to them but this time to Glasgow. They have been on the course and so were the usual rude unhelpful and unapologetic. Congratulations Gary Morton and your team members Joanna and Maria for keeping up the very very low standard of customer care which Virgin Media deem acceptable.

Their remedy - I had to call my bank and ask them to recall the payment. There was no compensation available for another huge waste of my time..... I am speechless that this is thought to be acceptable in a very competitive market. I only wish we could change suppliers... DO NOT USE THEM UNLESS YOU REALLY have no choice

I share you disgust at the service from Virgin Media. I moved back to BT last month after years of poor service and breakdowns.

As long as we are not in contract - and I shall dispute that! - we will follow shortly. Are you getting equivalent speeds?

Download about 13Mbps upload (not brilliant but comparable with before) about 1Mbps

So guess what? I have now had a snotty letter telling me my account is in arrears. This seems to be because the 'goodwill gesture' still hasn't been applied to my account. I have spoken to Bangalore twice - once when the supervisor called me back.They are completely and utterly clueless and had no idea what was going on with my account.

I am still waiting to hear with any degree of intelligence from Virgin Media but am certainly not holding my breath......
