Went with DAM Communications LTD because the sales guy was really nice, prices were good, once contract was signed it was downhill from there.
Didn't set direct debit up correctly, didn't give us 5% discount for paying by DD. Then someone phoned up to ask us to let people know they were a good company, when we said no as we a business and do not have time to recommend your company for you, the lady hung up the phone. Manager said she wasn't rude, but has still not sent a copy of the phone conversation. I then emailed to say we would not be staying with them, they rang me up, and instead of finding out what was wrong and saying they didn't want to lose our custom, they just said your in a contract, and even if we was rude to you, there is nothing you can do about it. The customer is most certainly not always right with this company, and as a business we give good customer service and expect it back. Do not go with them (please remember I have dealt with a lot of companies and this is by far the worst I have come across)!

I made the mistake of moving back from Chess Telecom to DamTel. Our line has been blocked since 4pm yesterday (Friday) and 18 hours later we still cannot make or receive calls! Without our phoneline we have lost a phenomenal amount of business as the weekend is the busiest for us. DamTel initially told us it is a fault and they are working on it but it's evident the line is blocked/barred and they now I have been trying to call them for the past 12 hours but do not answer the phone. We now have a line that is in limbo. I fear the company might even have gone bust so no idea what will happen with our line. Avoid them like the plague!!!!!!!!!

Go through the telecommunications ombudsman and report it, that's what we doing now then intend to take legal action. I believe they let the companies go bust then open another one.

A bit of advise for you, you are allowed to change providers even if your under contract with another, so maybe switch (although will take 10 days and providing damtel do not cancel the switch like they did us, if they do then contact ofcom and make a complaint).

Also there was no where in our contract or any documents we signed to say we were in a fixed term contract....worth a look to.

Good luck, it drove me insane dealing with this disgusting excuse of a company!!

I also use DAMTEL and have done for 4 years. They are definitely not bust - I just checked their Credit Focus score, which is a healthy 60/100. Are you dialling the right number? I use 0207 and if I have a fault I call 0844 (this is an alphanumeric number). I just tested the faults number and a lady answered straight away.

We are a reseller that bought service from Damtel (foolishly) and they cut us off as well as almost 50 lines for our customers leaving us with no support channel to Damtel other than a pile of lies. Fortunately we only lost a few of our customers although this has amounted to many thousands of pounds on lost revenue. We are now fortunate that we no longer use 'mickey mouse' companies like Damtel who damage business reputations. We are taking them to court for damages.

Not sure I would agree with either of these reviews! DAMTEL have always provided me with excellent service, since I moved to them from Chess 4 years ago. I don't understand why a company asking for referrals would be rude - no sense in that at all and I very much doubt it! Also, if any lines have been suspended and you doubt that it is a fault, it is probably the case that you haven't paid your bill!

Yes we paid our bills, even the bill sent by email that we should never of had for nearly £1000 (not even an invoice), just so they didn't cut us off the next day, yes 24 hours to pay just so we did not lose our phone lines......appalling service!

Damtel lied to us when our phone got cut off because they were not paying THEIR bills to the wholesaler. We were told for four days there was a fault on the line which was untrue and is still their story. Also still not received our claim form fir loss of service! Thou they are trying to collect money from us and are trying to bully us by threatening court action. Which I think we should go to the ombudsman and maybe take action against them. They will not be this bad with all customers but they have been poor ( if I'm being polite )
