“Awful Claims Service”

I have recently had to make a claim due to the loss of my pet dog. The service has been nothing but terrible, with myself having to do all the running around to get information as the customer service team at ESURE fail to read any communication properly and lie about contact with vets. They are completely impersonal and do everything possible to delay any payment they may make eventually. They fail to acknowledge communication and blatantly ignore you if you so much as take issue with their procedures, which for a large insurance company is totally antiquated. Use them at your peril for they will take your money and run away from any responsibility. Any attempts to contact anyone who matters in the company is just referred back to the impersonal customer services team. Customer Services, well hardly. Avoid Avoid Avoid

“Quickly dealt with my claim”

I was really worried that I paid £3500 up front for an operation for my dog just incase for some reason Esure didn't pay me back but they did and very quickly. I sent my claim form recorded delivery and the following day they e-mailed me saying they had received it and it would be dealt with within 5 days. Today, which is exactly a week from them receiving my claim I have received a cheque for the amount due. I am very pleased with the service.

“Unhelpful when making a claim”

DO NOT take out pet insurance with esure. They staff are unhelpful, and unwilling to address problems, and like to pass you from pillar to post when you need to make a claim. They're willing to give you their 'extension number' to lure you into a false sense of security, but try reaching that person again for continuity; you're wasting your time. Figures that paying over £1000 per annum for pet insurance doesn't leave you in good stead. All I want to claim for is for £400. They'd make just over £500 in premiums on one of my dogs that happen to be insured with them.

“esure what a rip off”

had my dog Cody insured with Esure from an early age, was never happy about the price increases every year, but my dog is precious, and I didnt want to change with the risks involved,after 6 years the premium had risen to £29 per month, expensive but I put up with it , then on the seventh year they put the price up 48% to £59, i was livid, and got a quote from sainsburys for £32 for better cover, i complained to esure and told them it was an absolute rip off,companies like this are the lowest of the low, they play on the fact that your pet is precious,and that you wont risk a change when they are getting older,so you just keep paying up, luckyly my dog was healthy so there were no major existing conditions to worry about,anyway I hastilly told them what to do with there premiums,take my advice steer clear

You do realise that Esure and Sainsburys are essintially the same company, both underwritten by AXA and the intermediary is BDML/Capita so if you ring Esure, or Sainsburys, it's the same office.

“DO NOT USE ESURE!”

we went we esure as we had been recommended them a few years ago, but since recent over hauls within the company the service as has rocketed down! We made a claim at the beginning of 2011 that was agree and to be paid out around £500, it is now Feb 2012 and we have yet to recieve any money, they keep saying the cheques have been sent when they clearly haven't, and everytime we call to chase up you spend 40mins waiting to speak to a living person. We will be taking them to court to get the claim finally paid out as they continue to fob us off at every turn. DO NOT USE ESURE PET INSURANCE

“Have insured our now elderly (gsd 9 1/2)dog for the...”

Have insured our now elderly (gsd 9 1/2)dog for the last 8 years. Last year the excess went up from £50 to £100. This year I have to pay the excess plus 20% of the remaining balance of any claim. Have just made a claim for £517. They paid out £334. What a rip off on a premium of £55 per month. Wouldn't touch this lot with a barge pole if insuring another pet. Have insured other dog with another company. This is the worst service I have had. Make sure you read each years renewals very carefully. Am absolutely fuming!!!

In my opinion this has got to be the worst customer experience I have ever been through. My dog was seriously ill at Christmas. I am still waiting for Esure to pay out (£3500) 3 months later.

I have phoned so often that I'm thinking of listing Esure as "friends & family" on my phone bill so I can get a discount. I have been given the run around so often i'm thinking of cancelling my gym membership as I get all the excercise I need chasing these muppets.
I have been passed from one unhelpful person to another. I've been promised multiple call backs & guess what.....no call back (suprise suprise)

I've been given excuse after excuse as to why the payout is taking so long. All the time the money sits in Esure's bank account earning interest.
I've no doubt that the next excuse will be that the guy who signs the cheques has developed Leprosy & his writing arm has fallen off!!!

In my opinion the service I have recieved from Esure is nothing short of pathetic. I would advise anybody thinking of doing business with this company to make their decision not purely based on cost. I have just learnt that the old saying is true..."you get what you pay for" & sometimes you dont even get that!

I haven't been making a claim from them, so not sure if my review would change then, but the value for money together with the impressive compensation per condition is what I was looking for. They have also reduced the premium after 1 year not claim. Hopefully I will not change my mind when I have to make a claim (hopefully never!)
