I was shocked to find a CFO Lending record on my Credit Report even though I have never heard of them!
Countless phone calls, emails later they tell me that it's up to the police to sort it out, all they did was lend money.
"Didn't you do any checks" I asked "all the information you have on record about me is incorrect."
"Yes we do checks, you need to report it to the police we are not at fault" was their reply.
How can a company like this lend money using incorrect details to anybody then let their victims suffer and say it's not their fault.
Surely something needs to be done with this company!

The exact same has happened to me today, the fraud team are now investigating CFO who I've never heard of until they text my mobile saying I owed money

I have got the Financial Ombudsman involved as CFO Lending really believe nothing is their fault.
It's a very long process and CFO seem to be dragging it out as much as possible, they are even now saying that they do not have the information on their system that they originally gave me when I first contacted them!
Seems like they are trying to hide things, and most probably will get away with it!
I am very surprised that the same thing happened to you as CFO Lending told me that they "changed their processes" so nothing like this could happen again... maybe they Customer Charter that they quote on the website "Transparency, Fair and Responsive" needs to be re-assessed!

HI
Same thing with me.
In the final stages of resolution with CFO after FOS involvement. Did you get any compensation at all. They have stated that they may make a payment of between £50-£100. I said it was not enough but must await their final response. Its took 18 months to get to this stage after someone fraudulently applied using my name and address. I received a response in February to say that it was all resolved and that I would not hear from them again, only to find they placed a default notice against my credit record in June this year again for non-payment.
I note that CFO Lending are subject to a "Voluntary Application for Imposition of Requirement" with the FCA and all debt collection activities are suspended.
