“Diabolical customer services & Not Covid Compliant!”

★★☆☆☆

written by FouziNZ on 13/11/2020

I was really shocked at the absence of covid compliant measures at IPG Painballing in Cobham in October 2020. The booking staff were friendly and informative and advised that our party of 9 would be separated between games. Not ideal but understandable. However, we were not separated and in fact were back to back with many other players under the shelters during breaks and before and after the games started. There was no checking of temperatures as participants entered the location and no mention of distancing at all during the time we were there. We wanted to participate as we had originally booked this event for earlier in the year and I am all for supporting company's and keeping people at work. But... actually this was not good. In addition to that staff shouted a lot at participants including some children. Completely unnecessary in most cases. Many staff were not at all friendly and totally lacked the enthusiasm required to make this a fun activity. Also, it is so expensive. Participants are captives once inside. No paint balls no games. No indication was given, despite me asking previously as to how many paint balls each player may need. Our party agreed as a bare minimum you need 600 balls for 3 games of 2 halves each. Paintballs are £9.99 for 100 / £79.00 for 1000 or £139 for 2000. They don't advertise these prices on their website. And I was advised that I needed to pay £10 per person at the time of booking which would provide 100 paintballs each. It would have been more honest for them to give more detailed information regarding the quantity required from the outset. Their customer services team have not responded to my email or phone calls in 14 days regarding another booking made pre lockdown where I wish for my deposit to be returned. Unprofessional, rude and really bad for their brand! One final point - not a game for anyone under 10 or for fragile adults - it can hurt.

“VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND POOR SERVICE. SCAM”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 26/10/2020

Extremely poor service have been trying to contact them for a refund over a month via email / and promised to get a call back from the manager on numerous occasions. A month has passed and yet to hear back. Their excuse is their extremely busy of covid 19. Just an excuse! a month is not acceptable. Asked for the complaint procedure only to be told the manager is the manager but surely there is someone above him. To top it off the employee hung up on me when I asked for the complaint procedure. Absolutely appalling and unprofessional. Will never use again! Should've read the reviews first!

“waste of time ”

written by NoelGray on 09/09/2020

what a waste of time. the cost of ticket books ... and then having to pay more when you get there to play as you are not allowed to bring your own gear to use. length of time x total amount of money spent / the actual enjoyment earned = waste of resources. Do not invest in this company!!!! Runaway!

“Autistic disabled son persuaded while we were in Boots”

★☆☆☆☆

written by RPANDA on 14/11/2019

While we were just yards away in Boots our Autistic Disabled son was being spoken to by IPG St seller I am writing on behalf of my son, Cxxxxx who is autistic and disabled. On the 21.8.19 he was pressured to sign up for paintball sessions in the town centre by Dxxx We were with Cxxxxx in the town centre but popped into Boots just yards away at the time which is just opposite. The rep would have seen that my son had obvious disabilities and that he would be physically and mentally unable to have anything to do with paintballing, but this street seller signed him up all the same??? UPDATE 14/11/19 Emailed twice, phoned dozen times no response! Now in the hands of our bank to try and get his money back! DO NOT TRUST THIS ORGANISATION THEY WILL KEEP TAKING MONEY FROM YOUR ACCOUNT! You've been warned! Cxxxxx felt very ashamed and embarrassed about this and has kept it to himself. He has only just told us about this seller, or we would have contacted you sooner. He has no means of travel and cannot travel on his own. The closest is Kegworth, which is over 2 hours away. We believe that the paintball sessions have been mis-sold and a vulnerable disabled autistic person has been taken advantage of.

Don't be enticed by the promise of saving money. The problem of being able to book dates prematurely (years beforehand) simply doesn't work and the website is designed in a way to even avoid customers to be able to redeem their tracking numbers.

“Rude, cumbersome customer service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Cidy on 30/08/2019

Made the mistake of pre-ordering passes for their paintball facility. The group you call to book is rude and hard to deal with. Then once we got to the site itself in Strathmore those people were rude and hard to deal with. Then we had to call back into the 800 number to get our money back for the balls. They basically accused us of being liars and were not going to issue a refund until they listened to the actual recorder call to find out they were wrong. We hope to get our refund as they took all of our information but ended the call in a very rude tone. If I could give them zero stars I would.

“Avoid at all cost”

Bought the tickets for a present for my son. Non of the dates I want to book over the school holidays are available, not because they're too busy, but because they have no other bookings. I've requested a refund but they refused as I'm one week outside of the 14 day cooling off period.

I'm a paintballer so she thought it would be a good idea to buy me a 70 quid package from a stall in a Tesco lobby she has no idea about paintballing and it's these people that they pray on the tickets are worthless if i used them it would cost me about 80 quid in balls yet if i don't i can get a better package by booking directly with the paintball companies of my choice for 50 quid now the mrs is upset with me for not liking the gift she was persuaded into but i can't ask 20 freind to pay a extra 30 quid on top of our normal price to keep her happy plus the closest venue it 40 miles away from where she was sold them what a joke you've been warned rant over

“The worst! ”

written by Sharonelizrobs on 23/08/2018

Bought a package for my ten year old to have a party. When it came to booking the rules had changed to over 18’s only, was advised to send tickets back for a refund. Lost money and had a very upset child and then had to find more money for alternative. Three weeks later got a letter saying they wernt going to refund me and insulting advise to sell them or give them away. Made a complaint via Facebook and also lots of other negative public posts to which I replied they approach trading standards as I was....the childish and very unprofessional responses was to block me and delete my comments! Says it’s all really doesn’t it!? Unprofessional c o n artists! Avoid at all costs and visit trading standards.

“I was totally mislead by a most pathetic sales person...”

written by PlayaFair on 04/05/2018

I was totally mislead by a most pathetic sales person in my opinion that’s what’ I think of him after finding out I was taken in. He has ruined a child’s birthday. How Dare he do that to me. After being in cardiac arrest that week he knew I just got out hospital. I’m so angry I want nothing to do with Paintball or marketing after this Horrible situation. Your buying a worthless piece of paper that’s all it is. When u go to paintball it costs you a further $20 for a few magazine of balls lasting u 10minutes plus there’s a fee that the paintball place has per person so that’s like another $25 truth is per person u need at least $150 to $200.now tell me who is going to afford paying that each child for a kids party. I found this out after I got Jubbed into buying a worthless pPer that u can’t use and the paintball place says they can’t match the deals that the company does Becas it’s impossible. Meaning I pay extra in end. So don’t buy from iPG.  The guy also pretended he worked as a manager at the Dingley centre he said come see me. He would meet me son on the day. Yeah right. What a LIAR!!! He is not affiliated in any way at all. To gain a sale it was all rubbish!!!! The paintball place dosent care thry are just as bad. I got hung up on blocked and chat stopped with no help. I put in a complaint I got nowhere it’s a big waste of money. Don’t bother

“if you have any sense DONT BOOK!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by duncs5155 on 22/02/2018

What an absolute farce this company is. We booked these paintball tickets 2 YEARS AGO, and every single time we have tried to book their has been a problem with the venue. First time, the venue was being refurbished, then the next 3 times the venue was closed. They then said they could send us to a different venue which is 2 hours away from us! I have asked to get a refund but evidently this is not a thing unless its within 7 days of purchase and you complain within writing....who does that nowadays?!?!?! They are an absolute joke and if i can spare some other poor person from forking out money for this then i hope i do. I wish i had read reviews online before purchasing as most people seem to have the same problems as myself. If i could give it a zero i would have.

“A Joke”

written by KaylenMcWilliams214 on 18/08/2017

Bought the coupon at the mall. They are open all day but will not run any games until there are 20 people. Was not told that when I bought coupons, plus the cost of the paintballs doubled! Beware of purchasing these coupons. Very misleading. The sales rep gave me their contact phone number. It is fake. She claimed that she would help out anytime and anyplace. It was a great place to work Barrie - Canada. They have never heard to this person in Barrie. If I could give it zero I would.

“Needs closing down!!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by keepercrazy on 19/05/2017

Was sold this in my local shopping centre for my Sons football team. I asked which was the closest centre to us and was told it would cost £60 then when we arrived each child would need to pay the first £10 each for 100 paintballs and the is guy gave me vouchers for 2000 extra balls, sounded great. What a joke!! these vouchers aren't valid at the only centre we can access and he knew fine well if that centre didn't exist I would never have bought the tickets in the first place. Nothing but hassle when you try to speak to anyone.....reading from scripts and have no idea what to say if your next question isn't in their script. Patronising, I can think of enough bad words for this company. How trading standards haven't been involved is beyond me but that is my next step as well as local press. Why do they think they are entitled to take peoples money knowing full well its all untrue? I hope I see one of their sellers very soon!! *****DO NOT USE THIS VILE HORRIBLE COMPANY*****

I was told this was free when paying £60 for 'the deal' but wanted additional £8 per person for booking and £70 for 1000 paintballs which last only hour and half. Absolutely disgusted, hope the company rots into the ground! Stay away ... NOT EVEN DESERVE FOR ONE STAR

“Reseller and mis-seller - better to go direct”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 29/01/2017

I was approached by a salesperson from IPG who was very charming and made a very good sales pitch. It was only afterwards that I realised that IPG are just a reseller, charging a huge mark-up and providing no direct link to the centres they claim to work with. Paintballing seems fun - hence some of the five star reviews here - but IPG is just a sales scheme and does not offer good value for money or any form of customer service. Their small print means all their "free" offers are actually very expensive and their terms mean it is highly likely you wil never get your money back if you try to get a refund. At the moment I am trying to arrange a refund for having been mis-sold an adult group session instead of one for my 10 year old son. The "free" paintballs are nothing of the sort - they're only free if you but £100s of pounds worth of paintballs in the first place. If you want to go paintballing, better to go direct.

Did you get your refund? I am told I can't have one. I am speaking with trading standards today. This needs to stop, they can't just send people into shopping centres and have them taking peoples money after telling them a pack of lies!! I am so angry that they are ripping people off like this. I have an U12's football team who have had money take out of their hard earned funds who are learning that criminals sometimes appear to be good people!!

“Best Day Out Ever”

★★★★★

written by Martin40 on 22/01/2017

I took my son and 17 of his friends for his 11th birthday to the International Paintball Group site in Billericay, Essex. The moment we arrived a staff member came out to greet us and made us feel welcome straight away. After handing over our paperwork the staff quickly organised kit for our party and gave us time to get ready. The kids looked fantastic all geared up and their excitement levels were increasing by the minute. After a very clear and concise safety briefing it was time for the fun to begin! The day was split up in to different battle fields, with cool names and settings like London Apocalypse, Viet Song Village and Zombie Crypt to name a few. Each game zone had different locations and objectives, such as planting a bomb or capturing the flag. After each game zone session we had a small break to allow for snacks and drinks and to purchase paint balls and smoke grenades if needed. After the morning session finished we had lunch with consisted of pre-ordered pizza's and a drink, before heading off for an afternoon of more fun and action. The kids enjoyed the most amazing day ever and never stopped talking all day about who they had shot or what had just happened in each session. No one wanted the day to end. The staff were all brilliant and couldn't do enough to help and make the day special. I couldn't recommend International Paint Ball group more and I will definitely be going back with my son and also with my friends too, because I had just as much fun as the kids. The feedback from all the other parents was just as positive as the children recounted all their stories of the day. An absolute must!

“Anyone in Australia considering using IPG consider...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by JG1966 on 16/01/2017

Anyone in Australia considering using IPG consider this. What you pay to IPG actually gets you nothing. They tell you it covers your entry to any of their courses (by the way that don't own or operate any centres) for a full day and that there are games on everyday, both of which are untrue. They also tell you that it covers your gear hire, again untrue. I was sold a package of 10 tickets for the price of 4 tickets, a total cost of $180.00. When I then made a booking for a course for 6 people, firstly I was told that i had to choose a morning or afternoon session, therefore not all day as advised by their salesperson. I was then told that I had to pay $45.00 in advance, non-refundable, for every player, plus an additional booking fee. This additional $45 was for the first 200 paintballs according to IPG and to confirm the booking. The day arrived and we went to the course. The first thing that happened was an argument over our booking being a full day, as agreed with IPG, with the course manager saying that we were only to be there for a half day. Then to my great surprise I find out that by going directly to the course operator and paying them $50, instead of paying IPG, anything at all, it included the use of the course and the supply of all the equipment including the marker, additional paintballs are extra, and that's fine and understandable Therefore it was at this point that I truly found out what IPG does. They are an agent who misleads you into believing you're getting a great deal, when in fact they are just a booking service. IPG does not own any paintball courses, nor do they operate any paintball courses, they dishonestly lead you to believe they do. What you are paying to them actually gets you nothing, just a booking service. You can go direct to any paintball centre and avoid paying IPG their booking fee.

“The Students IPG Experience”

★★★★★

written by Lauren_25 on 04/10/2016

So it all began when I spontaneously bought IPG tickets from a man at the stall within my University. I was a bit undecided at first but the £300 value tickets down to £60 was not a chance to be missed. I bought the tickets that day, and with difficult times getting people together available on the same day, we managed to gather enough but a few short of the 10. With that, I was informed that I wasn't going to lose out on any money, as the remaining people's tickets had been put together as credit for the next time we would go! So, first off we arrived at the Belfast paintball centre. As we walked towards the centre we were greeted by the super friendly and very helpful marshals. Everything was very well organised with a prompt start. We got our clothing and equipment and shortly after that, we were ready to rock. We played at numerous different locations within the centre, which provided us with different settings and different missions which meant that it was all varied and never a dull moment. When it came to lunch, we brought our own snacks so can't comment on the food provided but other people there got it and it looked great! The overall cleanliness was to a great standard and the atmosphere was just brilliant. IPG have been very helpful to me in my experience so far and I would definately recommend for anyone to go that hasn't been paintballing yet. It's definately a day worth spending with your friends as it's very memorable and totally worth it for the value. Only thing I do wish though is that it didn't hurt as bad when you get shot haha. Happy paintballing! :D

“Effingham Panitball Birthday parties.”

★★★★☆

written by EPeasey on 27/09/2016

My son recently celebrated his 10th Birthday at Effingham IPG Paintball Centre. He invited 9 friends and I was a little apprehensive as I had never done this type of party before and was worried that they were too young. The team were very welcoming on arrival, took time to explain the rules and they soon put my mind at ease. Before you knew it, they boys were all kitted out and the first game was about to begin. I was impressed that each game had a different theme and was set in a different zone, with different objectives. This made for a varied and interesting day. It was great that teams mixed, so that kids were with adults. At the end of each game I had 10 sweaty, boys all in need of refreshment and more paintballs. The pizza lunch was spot on and quick and easy. The team also made a fuss of the birthday boy, giving him extra lives and a shout out in front of everyone which made him feel very special. The only thing I hadn't realised was just how many paintballs the boys would get through in one day, so I had to give the boys guidance in terms of how many they should be using per game. All in all, it was a fabulous day out and now everyone in my son's class wants to have a paintball party!
