“Apalling after sales help”

★★☆☆☆

written by jenaitch on 05/10/2017

microwave still woks but I cant get into it as I need a new door. I found one from a spare part supplier but it arrived broken and I sent it back. I now cant find a supplier or a fitter and have not been able to contact ATAG to solve the problem. All I need is a replacement door and a recommended ATAG fitter. I would never have bought this make if I'd known what a lousy service this is.

We filled in two contact forms to find out how the ATUG oven operates. No response from ATUG. Disgusting service.

“Rubbish after sales service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by MalachiMcCaffrey on 18/12/2015

I agree with previously written reviews about the poor ATAG repair service. I have waited one month for a ATAG gas hob to be repaired and all I receive from the ATAG repairline is a promise to phone me back which they never did until I insisted on speaking to a manager. I was then informed that the spare part was not available, even though the hob is only 3 years old. They sent out an engineer and he said he had never seen my hob before and did not know how to repair it, never saw him again. They say they have trained ATAG engineers but that is not my experience. Eventually they said I would have to pay over £200 upfront with no knowledge from them when the spare part would be available. My research into ATAG UK reveals the people you speak to are a contracted spare parts company not ATAG even though the website states ATAG UK. Also if you speak to ATAG SALES UK it's not ATAG but a another kitchen appliance company that no longer sells ATAG products. They told me that ATAG had left the UK and only retailed from the Nederlands .If you go to the ATAG Nederland website to can complete a contact form but when you try to send it says there is a technical fault which happened several times over different days. I eventually found a email address for ATAG Nederlands. (Not easy) and although I had replies they just were of no help in providing the spare part or even when they could. Prior to this as I could not find an email address for them I sent them a letter in their HQ in the Nederlands but still waiting for a reply, All in all my experience of ATAG after sales service is appalling and I would advise potential buyers to read all the reviews before making up their minds. The end of my story is that I bought a new hob so I could cook the Christmas dinner and guess what..... It was not an ATAG!!

“Dishwasher”

written by thesoapmaker on 10/07/2014

The Atag dishwasher was fine when it worked. It stopped working properly, and now not at all nearly 4 months ago. The appliance is still under guarantee and we are still waiting for it to be mended. Atag will not replace, because they say it is fixable, even though they and their agents have been unable to do so. Apparently more parts are on there way-I won't hold my breathe! We wanted to get Bosch, but were advised to get Atag by the company that made our kitchen, big mistake.

“atag combi oven”

★☆☆☆☆

written by AshlynnDavies30 on 07/07/2014

So annoyed that I did not review this product before I purchased it as I've had nothing but trouble with it. Burns everything you try and cook as if the grill is on but it's actually the oven as it burns the top of the food but doesn't cook the food through. Also accidentally spilled fat in between glass on doors and cannot remove inner glass or door to clean so consequently always looks and is dirty. Steam cleaner is rubbish, doesn't actually loosen any spills even after one use so have to use a chemical oven cleaner after atag do not advise it, so what does one do just put up with a dirty oven, not good enough. No advice on internet as atag only want to send an engineer out at extortionate prices after paying good money for the appliance in the first place. Definitely would not recommend any Atag product as I am also having problems with my Atag fridge freezer,I also have other Atag appliances ,NEVER AGAIN

“Poorly designed products and even worse customer service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Tonkinese on 30/06/2014

Our own experiences of ATAG have unfortunately been similar to most of the other reviewers here. We had a new kitchen fitted 6 years ago and went with the designer's recommendation of ATAG for the fan oven (Model no. ZX6011K) and combi oven (MC4111L). It soon became apparent that there were significant flaws in the design of the products. The first problem was that the door of the fan oven has a number of large holes giving access to the space between the inner and outer glass panels. This space quickly became filled with dust making the oven look extremely dirty. As far as we can ascertain, there is no means of dsimantling the door or accessing the space where the dust gathers in order to clean it. Next, the screws attaching the handle of the combi oven to the door started coming loose and eventually the handle fell off. Once again, there is no apparent means of accessing the inside of the door in order to reattach the handle. The product manuals provided no indication as to how to deal with these problems, so I rang the customer service department. Unfortunately, cusotomer services appears to be the last thing that this company is interested in providing. They couldn't tell us whether the problem was anything that could easily be fixed, they couldn't confirm whether or not the technician who they could send to us at (our) considerable expense would be able to resolve the problems and they couldn't provide any sugegstion as to how we could resolve the problem. Their only interest appeared to be to finish the call as soon as possible. They did say that they would get someone with better knowledge of the products to give us a call, but needless to say this never happened. A subsequent call to the department had exactly the same result. Given the total lack of assistance from ATAG themselves, we're now faced with the choice of paying a lot of money for an engineer to attend, with the distinct possibility that they won't be able to resolve anything, or buying replacement products (which certainly won't be from ATAG). Bearing inn mind that the problems are not complex or technical, but they result from poor product design or construction, this is extremely galling. It is quite shocking that a company which aspires to "premium brand" status has such obvious disdain for its customers and so little interest in being the slightest but helpful when problems occur with their products - their attitude is both cynincal and short-sighted, as a positive and helpful response would have led me to consider purchasing other ATAG products and recommending them to others. My advice to anyone cosnsidering purchasing ATAG would be "avoid at all costs".

“Surprised!”

★★★★★

written by Pattipos on 01/12/2013

Was very surprised at the other reviews. Years ago I had an Atag installed in a renovated kitchen and loved it, so years on when we were having a kitchen installed in a house we'd renovated I ordered another. We only lived there six years but I loved my oven and had no problems except I inadvertantly turned the manual off and wondered why it didn't come on! I now have a gas AGA in our present house and love that too but its expensive to run so when we move again, as we hopefully will do shortly, I will happily go back to Atag and am currently looking up models.

DON'T DO IT!!! They are NOT the same anymore. My 24 year old integrated fridge and integrated freezer have never skipped a beat, - the 6 items I bought in 2010 are appalling. One day when I have time and am not fighting Atag I will write an essay of the faults and problems.

“Premium Rubbish”

★☆☆☆☆

written by ilikethingstowork on 31/07/2013

We inherited an ATAG SQ4211T Steam Oven when we bought our house. The oven was manufactured in 2010. It looks lovely and the ergonomics of the control panel works in an intuitive way. It seemed to work fine at first. We were wondering whether to keep it and add more ATAG appliances to match it later on. The drip tray was damaged so I went on the internet to find a replacement and also buy some additional pans too. Well, after spending many hours I didn't find one single ATAG replacement part for this model from any of the well known web based parts suppliers. Not only that but the ovens model number was never in their databases. So, I went onto the ATAG UK site and it linked me through to their outsourced parts supplier. But again the model number wasn't recognised. Not to be deterred I called them up on the phone. Nope, never heard of it. Leave it to us they said we will call ATAG and see if we can get one for you. They never replied. I called ATAG again and found the Product Manager. She was very surprised I had this problem and asked me to detail my complaint in an email. It seemed a strange request since I was asking simply how I get spare parts but I complied and even copied a page from the ovens handbook and highlighted the part I wanted too. Two weeks later and no reply. I sent an email chaser and immediately got a reply making excuses and another promise to respond. Two weeks later I received an email which had a parts diagram attached ( with no parts descriptions! ) asking me to tell her what part I needed and that she will contact the parts supplier to get it. It seems to miss the original point. "How do I get parts for our ATAG Steam Oven?" I am almost out of energy to go any further with this. But my problem has been solved. The oven has stopped working completely. I don't think I will bother to get it fixed ....... and I won't be buying 2-3 appliances from ATAG to match it either.

“BE WARNED”

★☆☆☆☆

written by ladybluev9 on 06/03/2013

Had new kitchen fitted by specialist supplier four years ago; chose ATAG combi oven and fan assisted main oven as I was under impression premier brand - be warned - do not go there - from day one the combi/microwave proved problematic in that after three uses the oven lamp bulb blew; took almost a year for this to be replaced only for it to go again a year later - unfortunately no one wanted to know and now have an oven which I cannot see into. The microwave itself makes a dreadful noise and clearly is about to give up the ghost. Main oven ok so far although I am concerned as there is no back up and my supplier no longer deals in ATAG. This is not a premier brand and the support for UK owners is non-existent - feel I was sold a pup! If I had realised no UK back up or guarantee I would definitely not have purchased.

Richardcollman's Response to ladybluev9's Review

We've had similar problems. Bought ATAG combi oven, microwave, steam oven and also coffee machine. The four look good but it's a shame they don't work as well.

Coffee machine has twice had problems clearing used coffee, leaving growing pile of ground coffee in machine not receptacle. Have eventually got repaired twice.

Microwave door handle loose, one end came off before could be tightened scratching front. "Engineer" caused more damage attempting to "repair" it. Eventually got this sorted out.

Combi oven leaks fluid into drawer below when roasting turkey etc. Door seal has joint in middle of bottom. Atag's response so far is disinterest. Our view is 'not fit for purpose' so interesting legal debate coming up.

Steam oven has flake of paint fallen off. Concerned that continued use could cause damage.

Tried to get Atag's engineer to attend to 3 outstanding problems. They would only accept 1 fault per call, so came out and sorted out coffee machine.

We now need to try and get them back out again for other 2 faults.

“NO to Atag”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 11/04/2012

Had a new kitchen fitted 2 years and have been very pleased with it apart from the 2 Atag ovens we purchased.Poor after sales service, it took an engineer 6 weeks to come out to change an oven light bulb (could only be done by an engineer). Handle has fallen off one of the ovens and you can't access the inside of the door to fasten (looks like it might be time for another engineer!) And the other oven is completely unreliable, it switches between oven settings all on its own. I burnt a cake the other day, I had put it on fan oven 180 degrees and when I returned to the kitchen 45 mins later it had switched to eco setting 240 degrees. I would not recommend Atag to anyone looking to renew their kitchen.

“Expensive brand to avoid”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 10/03/2012

Atag is a brand of kitchen appliances that you can only buy through specialist kitchen fitting companies. I bought two when I had a new kitchen put in. I was not able to find any reviews for the company, so trusted their own marketing information. The ovens were expensive. Both have presented problems. The after sales service has been very poor indeed. I wrote a long e-mail to Atag detailing my concerns. After four weeks I have not even had an acknowledgement of my complaint, let alone a reply. My new kitchen is superb- apart from the Atag ovens. I would not recommend them to anyone.
