“Dolphin Walk-in Showers.....Best decision I made.”

Getting in & out of the bath (quite high sided) to shower was becoming dangerous & I knew I needed a walk-in shower. Getting quotes from some of the 'national' companies, not one could justify price tags over £10k. I came across Dolphin at our local market.They were offering the 'bath out, walk-in shower installed in 1 day. With a fixed price tag under £5k & testimonials from customers, I went ahead. The fitters arrived at 7:30 as agreed & worked through until early evening. They showed me the process of switching shower on/off, using the installed seat & making sure I was familiar with everything. The fitters were polite, friendly & very professional, no mess was left behind at all & I could not fault their workmanship in the slightest. Based on my experience with them,I would happily recommend them.

I am so very grateful for the person I dealt with and his team. They renovated a bathroom, ensuite, laundry including the hallway and I am overwhelmed with the amazing results. Both he and his team made me feel confident and comfortable with the decisions that I had made. The tradesmen that were at my place were very friendly and answered any question that I had... I love the final results and would recommend Dolphin Bathrooms to anyone.

“Awful service awful people”

The first guy comes round and says YES to every thing you ask, whilst looking very bored, and gives you an expensive estimate. The fitters come round put a sledge hammer to your bath room so you have to have work done, then dont do any thing the estimate giver and you agreed with (hence why the first guy was looking sooo bored) Expensive shoddy work that is NOT what you asked for you get..

We chose Dolphin because they promised a quick installation. Hah! We managed to reduce their original quote by over £2,000 which to be in line with other quotes we had but Dolphin was the only company who promised to fit within a couple of weeks. Again, hah! The goods were partially delivered, then were faulty. Eventually when they all arrived (3 or 4 weeks later) their fitter was too busy to fit us in for another couple of weeks. Once he started, he had to order something else which then took another couple of weeks to arrive. We did, eventually, after 3 months, end up with a very nice bathroom, save for the ill-fitting cistern lid which we chose to put up with to put an end to the matter. The fitter explained that Dolphin engage local plumbers with d-i-y skills to fit the cupboards, do the tiling, etc. They are promised a lot of work and therefore accept a very low rate for the job. Because of the poor delivery, the plumbers have difficulty scheduling their work. Summary: Don't use Dolphin. They try to rip you off, they lie about installation times, they are incompetent regarding delivering products. They were lucky to receive a 3-star rating because service was so poor but the finished bathroom was OK.

“This company is the worst ever. They have no...”

This company is the worst ever. They have no consideration for their customers and never turn up for the work they are paid for and my mother is still waiting for them to arrive to complete the job. This is a special needs bathroom that needs to have some priority and the salesperson promised that they would stay on the job until completion,They do not care about upsetting their customers and the distress they cause and wish we have had nothing to do with them but unfortunately they have out money, I will be seeking advice on how we can do something about this disgusting service. They have all the flash showrooms but other than that absolute rubbish to deal with

Excelent Desiner from Dolphin Bathrooms that showed me the final look by computer (CAD). Looked after and kept infomed of progres from design, surveyor, delivery, project manager and fitters. I think we live in a country of complaints. When everything is good and to the high standard, no one writes or gives their opinion. Well here is mine. I was so pleased with Dolphin Bathrooms that I had my second bathroom done by them. I want my bathroom done by a company that gives the guarantees and is well established (Especially in this market). The fitters were polite and professional with good skills. If there were any problems, I was kept informed and the best thing was that I had use of WC and hot water every night. I defy anyone that can find a plumber, fitter, tiller, electrician and contractor that will give a one day guarantee never mind a one year that is given by Dolphin. I have had more horror stories in the past about independent contractors. There are complains about British gas, BT, British Airways and all major companies. Do you find people stop using them.. No! So I preferred to use a reputable company DOLPHIN BATHROOMS for supply and fit of my 2 Bathrooms. I have and I will recommend them to everyone.

We decided to go for the half price sale offer on the Dolphin Special Care Bathrooms. Designer came round and spent a good while with all the usual patter etc. Came up with a design that was OK and would be a bit of a change from our bathroom as was. We had a large bath and bit of wasted space, as we use the shower in it more than anything, but still wanted to have a bath option. He moved the sink into the corner at the end of the bath and everthing seemed fine, then asks for the desposit. Thought this was a no obligation quote! However, we decided to go ahead with it. Contact from Dolphin re surveryor to come round and do the planning for the work etc. That was fine, We hadn't realised that we would be having a gravity fed shower and pump would be fitted to give better output (we hadn't had any problems with our old one!) Having had problems with our central heating and water not heating problems, we waited until that seemed to be up and running, took delivery of our bathroom and fitters arrived (foreign speaking, but not a problem, there work was very good). Our bathroom completed and we seemed happy with it, but on the first use of the shower, the water flow keeps stop/starting. We have all used it and all had the same problems. Dolphin phoned this morning to ask how installation etc had gone and we mentioned this, but am still waiting for them to get back to me. On reflection I feel that intiial design could have been done better, the shower is a lot more open ended than we thought and water splashes on to the floor and can hit the sink panel and run down the side. Also feel the quality of the bath panel is very flimsy. I have already managed to mark the bath having dropped something it!

Dolphin Bathrooms sounded so good, the salesman was excellent and the surveyor was very thorough. Then it all went wrong - I am so disappointed with their service, our bathroom which was ghastly before is not much better now. We have had to chase them up all the way - they have now looked at it and said it should all be done again. What a joke - the person who did it the first time is coming back to do it again so why will it be any better the second time around. I despair, they havent got a clue about service it is absolutely rubbish Dolphin how can you be so bad in a recession - you really need to get your act together because reviews like this will not do you any good.

My mother is in her eighties and needed a walk in shower. After reading all the bad reviews on here I dreaded the outcome but how wrong I was.
The adviser was great, yes Dolphin are expensive. However the parts arrived on time as notified to us by Dolphin Customer Service, the installation date was on time, again as notified by Dolphin Customer Service and the fitter could not have been better.
Dolphin did not put a foot wrong very impressive - well done Dolphin.

My advice is: don't even go there! We called a designer out (an evening appointment), for a start he was half an hour late. He said he would take measurements and he would go away and do the estimate and design as it was getting late. We said it was OK. Anyway on leaving he promised to get back about the quote. Two weeks on and still no quote from them so I decided to chase up. They said they'll get in touch with the designer to find out why. Few days later and still no quote! I contacted them again and they apologized and said the same thing that they'll get in touch with the designer. I took the name of the regional manager down. Few days later and finally I get a call from the designer himself and said he'd been doing some work on it, and would cost £23,000, and that that's above our budget! I got annoyed and when I asked him for a detailed written quote as initially agreed. I reminded him of what was agreed. When I called him as his number appeared when he called me, I got his voice message, so I left him a message to contact me back saying that I've assumed that the line went dead! Surely if that was the case he would've called me back?

Spent £7000 on a bathroom that took almost a year to fit, and had to fight for a £600 discount for over half a year. Just received the cheque from Dolphin Bathrooms today. Useless customer service. Useless fitters.

I am not impressed with Dolphin Bathrooms. I found respect and customer care to be very poor. I didn't get as far as having the bathroom planning and installation stage, as the Salesman refused to attend the initial appointment because my husband would not be present!

My husband had left the planning and organising of the bathroom to me, as I am the one with the disability. The salesman treated me as If I was some 'little woman' who couldn't make any decisions without her husband's nod of approval. I am disabled. I'm also a professional woman who was prepared to pay up to £20,000 for a new bathroom.

Shame on you Dolphin Bathrooms Special Care Section.

My parents, in their eighties, urgently needed a new invalid-safe bathroom to be installed so that my father could be discharged from hospital, and go home.

I approached people that I took to be experts - Dolphin Special Care - to do the job.

Dolphin Special Care sited a"fused spur" to my parents' spa-bath in a place which disquieted me.
Dolphin told me that the spur should be "switched off when the bath is not in use"; though how they imagined that my mother might have done this isn't clear: it was hidden behind the bath panel, which was screwed into place. (But this isn't relevant: according to the bath manufacturers, the advice was wrong).

I didn't like the idea of my infirm parents bathing just inches from a 240-volt supply, nor of my mother having to touch mains-voltage electrical switches when she had just taken a bath. I told Dolphin Special Care that the spur's position was dangerous - evidently, this hadn't occurred to Dolphin's expert Special Care installer - and they agreed to move it.

DOLPHIN BATHROOMS
The only efficient part of the deal was the alacrity of taking the deposit. Delivery was on time, albeit incomplete and wrong parts it transpired.
The installation team consisted of one man. Customer complaints procedure efficiency is nonexistant. Speed of fitting is snails pace and the quality is that of a profficient DIY person. Our fitter had been pulled off one job to stsrt ours as the bath delivered to that job was wrong, he decided to take a wek off toeards the end of the fit - a phone call remedied that one.
Dolphin do NOT "take care of everything", quite the opposite. It was a stressfull experience and took 6.5 weeks from delivery to the unsatifactory completion.
Since the fit lots of people have voiced similar views as us. I would not recommend Dolphin to my worst enemy. Caveat Emptor

"Dolphin take care of absolutely everything" - this quote could not be further from the truth unfortunately. The worst customer service I have ever come across. Red tape, bureaucracy, indecision, lies. Project Coordinators who have no product knowledge or any powers to make a decision during the project. The list is endless. Would NEVER recommend them or their sister companies.

Fitter/Plumber - absolutely fantastic who saved my sanity.

We are mid-fit for a Dolphin bathroom ordered in early February. We made plain that we had a tight schedule to fit,and were messed about by the rescheduling of the job. The quality of the workmanship is appalling and not to the specification, and the fitter is rarely here before 10 in the morning and leaves before 4. Despite numerous calls to customer care we are having no support - I fear that this will be a horribly costly mistake on our part and wish that we could cancel the contract now and look for a small family firm who might care about the customer experience and take pride in the standard of the work provided. This is a nightmare!

I have had two bathrooms re-done - one wet room and one standard bathroom suite, the full monty! After the initial sales visit and price we had a further 'surveyor' who actually went round and said things couldn't be done a certain way etc etc - really just to make things easier for the fitters and using substitute cheaper fittings. We went along as I trusted them to do a good job and the cost was high (£25,000) - I thought paying a lot would mean a good job, how wrong was that!

My main problem is there is no warranty (and the after sales people are so rude - one stated my wife was a liar in regards to the warranty) - you get one year then forget any further maintenance and support (even though all through the process they stated I could get further warranty support at a monthly cost - I figured worth it because of the initial cost). It took 3 months longer to fit - leaked and ruined the downstairs carpet and they used cheap contract fitters (even though the salesman stated they only use 'specialised' fitters).

It is your choice in the end but if I could turn the clock back now.....I wanted t give them zero.

DO NOT USE DOLPHIN BATHROOMS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had to mark this as a 1 as it will not accept zero out of 5, but my true rating would be a big fat ZERO!!
We decided to use Dolphin for the "stress free", "we'll take care of everything" and "quality of products" service they were offering. The price was £3 - 4 thousand more than we were planning on paying but thought it would be worth it to take away all the hassle. How foolish we were, I wish I had read these reviews first.
Our bathroom was delivered on 28th Feb, i was supposed to receive a call the week before to advise whether it would be an a.m or p.m delivery, the call never came so I eneded up having to take a full day off work to wait for the delivery. Thats when the problems started. The wrong tiles were delivered, it took a week of phone calls and arguments to get them changed. Then we realised that the bath was cracked, the replacement that was despatched was the incorrect bath, it took several weeks for the tiles to arrive despite being told they would be sent with the 2nd bath delivery. When they finally arrived 14 out of 94 were broken so yet more tiles had to be sent out. All of this has had a knock on affect with the installation we were quoted 8 - 10 days. We are now in week 5 and it is still not completed. The biggest issue I have is with the rude uninterested "customer service"staff and the project manager is a waste of time, how you manage a project from the end of a phone? No-one ever calls you to update you with whats happening, we are constantly phoning Dolphin chasing for updates and having to deal with their rude staff, they tell lies and try to fob you off constantly. We were also promised a team of Dolphin fitters, we were sent a local plumber who they had subcontracted to and he had to bring in his own team of plasterers, tiles, electricians etc. And to rub salt in the wound he told me they could have done the job for half the price. I could go on and on listing issues and complaints but I'm sure you get the picture. Were waiting for a manager to visit to discuss compensation but I'm not holding my breath. I have no doubt we will end up having to take legal action but I will not let it go.

All in all a very very disappointing service. I have had to take 5 days off work unpaid waiting in for deliveries and redeliveries, spent hours on the phone trying to sort out issues and generally lost the will to live.

Please, if you are reading this and considering whether or not to use Dolphin do yourself a favour don't do it. Use a local firm that someone has recommended.

Our delivery arrived too early which meant we had to store everything including the bath in our spare room over Christmas. When we were asked if we would accept an earlier delivery date I was told the installation would be on the Monday and that they would call back to reconfirm the arrival time. At 5.30 on the Friday I was still trying to find out what time the fitters would arrive. Needless to say they didn't arrive on the Monday. Installation was confirmed as the week before Christmas and would be finished the first week of the new year.

They sent the wrong lino and I had a battle to get that changed and the towel rail they gave us was too big for them to install. They refused to fit a smaller one due to the pipe fittings so we got a refund and someone else fitted a small towel rail with no additional pipework.

The only good thing about Dolphin was we got our dining room redecorated at their expense. 6 months after the insallation one of the pipe fittings came away from underneath the bath over night so we had a flooded dining room. Dolphin battled over the cost of the redecoration so in the end I went through our house insurance who paid in full. They even got our £50 excess back from Dolphin.

By the looks of the reviews on this web site a lot depends on the fitters. Our small bathroom took 2 working weeks to install.

Customer service was non existent. Previously we used Sharps to fit new wardrobes and they did a fantastic job. Based on this, we thought we'd go for the best again and treat ourselves to Dolphin bathroom. I wouldn't even recommend Dolphin to my worst enemy.
