Don't Buy From Lavatronics

Hi I bought amiko alien from them, but had nothing but trouble with the box freezing so arranged to send it back which cost me nearly £20.

They told me no fault found & if I wanted a full refund there would be a 20% restocking fee. I even asked them if they could exchange it for an upgrade to another model, they said yes but still be 20% restocking fee even though I only had the amiko for less than a week, they said that because it had been used they wouldn't give me a full refund, so they sent it back to me.

I have tried all the enigma images supplied from their website & none of them are fit for purpose, crashing, losing channels etc.

So I phoned them to complain & was told that only the hardware was under warranty & not the software (which was supplied by them)

Please do not buy from this company, they want shutting down

Avoid

I bought a Sat Box off them. It crashed and it crashed and lagged with audio delay.

I asked for a refund and they wanted to investigate (ok fair point) but i just wanted a refund.

Threaten with a re stock fee.

Avoid!!. Use World of Satellite or similar.

Some Unfair Reviews On Here.

The reviews on here made me very defensive and suspicious when I had to return my order for a refund.

I must say they did bend over backwards to try and resolve my problem with the box which I was convinced without any doubt was faulty before my

request return the item.

However they did in fact refund the full amount of the order on receipt of the returned item.

The only thing negative was ,I had to pay 12 quid to return the order when their terms and conditions state their carrier would collect and return the item to them.

Hope this eases the minds of other potential customers.

Just Do Not Buy From This Guy! I Phoned Up Becaus

Just do not buy from this guy!

I phoned up because the product I bought wasn't operating in the manner it should. Basically there was a firmware of hardware fault. I was basically told that they would not accept a return. They also wouldn't offer any support to diagnose the product or reflash it.

I stood my ground and insisted on speaking to the boss When I refused to be fobbed off he ended up swearing at me and hanging up on me. He then refused to take any further calls.

I asked a friend to phone without giving their details and to explain a similar problem. Again they were fobbed off.

This is the very worst kind of company and you would do well to steer well clear!

I Purchased A Satellite Receiver From Lavatronics.

I purchased a satellite receiver from Lavatronics. It had a fan in it and sounded like a hairdryer sat in the corner.

I called them, told them what the problem was, I believed it to be faulty, and that I would like to send it back and get a different model, without a noisy fan in it, from them. No problem they said. I returned it.

They said they did not receive it. They were not interested in my receipt of posting. They told me they had no liability and would have nothing further to add. They suggested I claim from the post office for a lost parcel.

One of two things happened here: either it was lost or stolen whilst in the care of the Post Office - they accepted my claim and paid me compensation, but only for £20, the maximum they will pay in such cases; or it was lost or stolen after arriving at Lavatronics - they accepted no liability what so ever.

It is impossible to prove a negative so it seems unlikely that Lavatronics can know for certain if it was them or the Post Office that misplaced it. They would have to log and identify every piece of post, individually, as it came through the door.

They did know for certain that they were going to keep hold of my £45 though.

Had they met me part way, made a gesture (not the one I feel they did give me!), they would have kept my custom, which would have benefited them in the future. An understanding of customer care the Post Office have but, sadly, they do not.

It was only a small amount but it has left me with a very bad taste in the mouth, not helped by them sending me spam about their products, to constantly rub salt in the wounds and by refusing to reply to the post Office when they asked them to confirm that they had not received the parcel ,which held my claim up for some time.

Funny, they were quick enough to tell ME they hadn't got it!

Is mostly family run. They cover each others tracks. They are very good at saying this is a great model, and to a degree, and he did say to come in person to get it set up only because the instruction manual made no sense at all. but I soon became wary of him trying to fob me off with answers then lost interest and was rushing to get rid of me. I would never recommend them at all, they are purely box shifters. If they had resolved matters in a total different way I won't have be writing any bad reviews, but where a company fails then any potential customer should be aware of what they could be letting themselves into. In you case, know doubt they did get it but knew you had no proof! People can make there own mind up about what that means!

I can't say I'm surprised. It was clear to me their idea of customer service was to get rid of the customer as fast as possible whilst keeping hold of their money. In my case there was no point arguing as I had failed to return the item "signed for".The point is they could have treated me better but they didn't. Any one thinking of becoming their customer should think about that and consider your, and others, experience before they part with their money. Dealing with an internet company that you know will not help with problems is not a good idea. It's not the end of the world but it is pretty unpleasent because you are powerless to resolve the issue without going to a great deal of trouble.

My issue became personal and he made personal attacks on me, not a professional approach at all. I also know where they get their items from after making enquiries so I knew their profit mark up but their service was awful and personal.

Thanks for your comment, I made this review because I suspected that I might not be the only Lavatronics customer that had suffered a bad expreience. I just hope my experience will forewarn others thinking of buying anything from them. The receiver I sent back was, in my opinion, a piece of rubbish which tempts me speculate as to what their other products may be like. Not having had the opportunity to replace the reciever with another model it's impossible for me to say, which might suggest that, maybe, they decided to quit while they were ahead. I could be wrong but, on the odd occasion I've had problems with web based companies before, they've always been keen to communicate and find a reasonable resolution. It almost garantees future sales. Why would Lavatronics appear to do the opposite, garanteeing no future sales? One reason that comes to mind could be a company knowingly selling sub-standard products, although I couldn't say Lavatronics were doing that because I don't know for a fact that they do. I'm sure they're really, really good.(exept the one I had of course) I can't think of another reason, off the top of my head, for dumping customers but I suppose there would be one.

snowydewey

You should have sent it recorded. But I can understand that they [Lavatronics Ltd] could well have received it but denied every receiving it cost there was no proof, that's the sort of company they are. They are very unhelpful and have no morals and if they can get away with something they will. Be careful of Lavatronics and ensure you keep proof of anything that may be sent back. Even record their conversations cost they backtrack very quickly and deny saying something, so you need to keep proof throughout. I guess on this occasion they did get it back but because they was no proof of sending they knew they could get away with it. Sorry to hear your loss.
