Very Poor Customer Service

Very poor customer service. I purchased a deal for four cocktails at INC sheffield. Traveled to the venue and was turned away because they said it was too busy. Asked living social for a refund as I could not redeem the voucher. They offered me half back of the cost in credit. Not happy with this has wanted a full refund so sent numerous emails explaining it wasn’t my fault I couldn’t use the voucher. No resolution. Don’t answer my emails. Very unhappy customer. They are not interested if you received the goods or not. beware :(

Afternoon Tea

We have just had afternoon tea at the double tree hilton in hyde park london and it was lovely, from the very polite staff to the food and of course the price was outstanding. The staff made us feel really welcome and the food and proseco was very good.Would highly recommend this offer .one thing which i think you need to know though is that this offer is for the double tree hilton in hyde park not the hilton hyde park as stated .we went to the wrong hotel which can be a bit embarrassing, apart from this this was a lovely afternoon.

Poor Quality Goods

I have recently purchased two vouchers from LIVINGSOCIAL both of the goods are poor quality first one was a Guardian Angel Necklace from FAKURMA this was cheap metal material with a coloured marble inside said it should have been £69.99 but with voucher it was £9 plus p.p £2.99 it wasn't even worth what I paid £9 I have contacted LIVINGSOCIAL twice about this but up to now I have not received my money back they contacted FAKURMA and sent me an email but when you try to contact them back they don't answer so still no refund. Second item I purchased was set of two frying pans with dividers and lid advertised None Stick the price £9.99 plus p.p £3.99 instead of £36 the first time I used one of them the food stuck that much it was un eatable and I had to soak the pan for three days and even then the food won't come off the bottom so these are un useable I contacted LIVINGSOCIAL about this and again they sent email to the firm SASHTIME asking them to contact me about returning them yet again I have not heard anything back from this company so what is the point in keep buying these vouchers and then when there's a problem they don't want to know, you are just wasting your time and money dealing with LIVINGSOCIAL. Stay clear of this site

Guardian Angel Necklace

I purchased this product through LIVINGSOCIAL they said I t was worth £69.99 and I was getting it for £9.00 plus p.p £2.99

It was going to be a present for my daughter but when it arrived it was just terrible cheap plastic material with like a coloured

Marble in side how they could say it was worth £69.99 I don't know where they get there prices from, I purchased this on 27/5/16 and I am still trying to get my money back they contacted Fakurma who supplied this but I have not got my money back as to yet I have sent them 2 emails got no answer and I have phoned LIVINGSOCIAL twice and they have sent emails to them but I am not getting anywhere fast still trying to get my money back. So my advice to anybody is don't buy this product it is rubbish and not even worth the £9.00 plus p.p £2.99 yet they are still advertising this item. Stay clear

Do Not Do Business With Living Social!

I've used LivingSocial occasionally over about three years. Things have gone smoothly on about three occasions - the rest of the time there has always been some problem or other.

Firstly, the website is very unstable. Often, when you click on an interesting deal and then click through to "buy", the panel that is supposed to give you the discount code simply fails to appear - the text tells you to click on the code, but neither the panel nor the code is there. Sometimes I've just given up,but sometimes the deal has been so interesting that I've persisted, going back to the ad and clicking through to the 'buy' page time and time again. After many tries, the code at last appears and allows you to proceed to the purchase page. No, my computer is NOT faulty (as one LS customer service agent declared) - it works perfectly on all other online purchase sites.

Secondly, on two previous occasions the merchant has not recognised the LivingSocial deal and has charged me his full retail price on my credit card. On one occasion LivingSocial arranged for a refund, on another they said the problem was between me and the merchant and Living Social could not help me. My credit card company got me a refund, saying that they had a long history of problems with that merchant and were no longer accepting his business. So why was LS doing business with the merchant?

In spite of this poor history I recently made one last try, because the offered deal was so good. It was a deal for a TOTAL WHITE teeth whitening kit, normally about £80 - £90, for £16 plus £4.95 postage.. Again, it took me several tries to bring up the LS site page with a discount code panel, but eventually it appeared. The next day I received an emailed invoice from the merchant for the postage which was immediately deducted from my credit card account. I received the product OK, a couple of days later, but two weeks later £79.95 was deducted from my credit card account. I immediately emailed LivingSocial who emailed a reply saying they didn't accept emailed complaints and that I must phone their customer service - difficult for me because my vocal cords are paralysed (as I had said in my email to them).

I phoned as requested and was told by a very snotty (female) "customer service (!)" agent that it was not their problem and I had to call the merchant. I phoned TOTALWHITE who said that they had no knowledge of any such discount offer and my order had been treated as a normal transaction at their usual price and terms.. I phoned LivingSocial again, this time to find a much more sympathetic (male) agent who took all my details and promised to investigate the problem, to sort it out. and to email me back. Guess what? Nothing further.

I've given up, life is too short to spend hours on the phone or at the keyboard sorting out these problems - which,of course, is what these soulless artists count on. But I'm putting LivingSocial on my blocked address list and telling as many people as I can - DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS (DIS)ORGANISATION. Like the man said "If it seems too good to be true, it is." Don't buy, don't get caught.

Advertise Deals For Highly Unreliable Companies

I have been an active suscriber to LivingSocial for the past 3 years. In this time, there was a problem honouring more than half the deals that I bought from them and thus refunds had to be arranged which have taken a long time.

Whenever you buy a deal voucher, a telephone number for the relevant company is provided. Half the companies never pick up the phone, or claim that the voucher was advertised as a 'mistake' and thus they are not offering the services you paid for, which gives you the headache of having to chase LivingSocial up for a refund.

Examples of deals which ended up being what I call hoaxes:

1. BALLOON FLIGHT. Bought a voucher for a Hot Air Balloon flight for me and my boyfriend. Close to the time, I called up the balloon company again to confirm our date, only to hear from them that the flight wasn't going ahead due to low popularity. I only found out because I called them up, how lame is that.

- Language lessons- NEVER buy deals for these because they always ended up being hoaxes which do not go ahead as 2) and 3) demonstrate.

2. LANGUAGE LESSONS. I bought a deal last summer for a language course, I called up the language company to arrange this. Closer to the time I called them up to confirm it was happening, only to be told that they cancelled it due to low popularity.

3. LANGUAGE LESSONS. I bought another deal in November for another language course from a different company: West Wimbledon College. This looked more reliable. However again, I was fooled. The voucher was for beginner/intermediate/advanced and when I called up the company to book a course for Intermediate Spanish they claimed that the voucher was only for beginner levels. Then when I sent them a copy of my voucher to prove that it is for all levels, they said 'ah ok, we'll send out a timetable shortly', left me waiting 2 months and then when i called them up to check what's happening they repeated 'it's only for beginner levels' ?! Currently waiting for LivingSocial to organise a refund.

4. AFTERNOON TEA. Bought a deal for an afternoon tea at Topham's hotel which was not worth the price at all. The sandwiches looked like they had been bought from Tesco and even though the voucher said we didn't have to print out the voucher but could just show it on a smartphone, the company wouldn't accept a non-printed voucher so I had to email it then and there to Topham's hotel and then they printed it.

5. AFTERNOON TEA. I purchased a deal for a haircut and blowdry at a top London salon, Cobella (got voted best hair salon in London in 2012 I think), and the hairdresser I had ended up being someone who didn't even work for the company but rather a 'discounts only' underqualified person (I know because when I called up the salon to arrange a haircut they said "not on those days- the livingsocial hairdresser doesn't work at that time). It was the worst haircut I had ever had in my entire life, and even though I wanted a straight blowdry I didn't get one!

6. DANCE CLASSES. I have tried calling up Absolute Bollywood a few times: the company for which I have the voucher, and nobody is picking up the phone. Another refund headache looms on the horizon. Dear oh dear.

Never again, LivingSocial! Amazon Local all the way-they tell you if a company is cancelling something, which is a very rare occurrence, and they automatically refund it which saves you the hassle and unfairness of having to chase up companies to check whether things are still going ahead and to organise your own refunds.
