Express Anger, Frustration & Extra Costs

I understand that in these economically challenging times, customer service may slip. But the attitude of businesses like this beggars belief.

I located an aftermarket usb interface for my vehicle (Toyota Celica). I

gave the information to my family so that they may buy it for a Christmas present (Price ~ £54).

Here's incarexpress idea of how to win sales and make customers for life:

1) send a faulty item out first.

2) When i called after xmas, the chap was polite, but said i would have to email the correct department; he could not help. I wanted to speak to someone to confirm that this item was indeed faulty and not the wrong spec for my system.

3) They Ignored my email requesting assistance.

4) I then raised a returns request. This was eventually responded to.

5) I specifically asked for someone to inform me when the item arrived and to let me know if it was faulty.

Both requests were ignored.

6) My returns request was closed and not responded to!

7) I emailed again after 10 days asking if they had received the item and why have i not received a response.

Finally they responded claiming they had received it last week, but were waiting for a new model from the supplier. A new one had just gone out.

Great - now i have to visit my parents home a long distance away because they sent it to the their address again!

Of course the four pounds or so I spent on returning the item has not been refunded.

It turns out that the item does NOT fit the model it claimed to on their website; i had to REWIRE the original plug into the new unit to get it working. This fix was based on a hunch, a good knowledge of electronics and some snippits of info on the internet.

Do yourself a favour people, STEER CLEAR of these anti-service c*cksuckers; they couldn't organise a p*ss up in a brewery.
