“No Recourse for mirepresentations - Caveat Emptor”

I am not about to say my expectations in the secondary ticket market are high. I only expect 1 thing: honesty.

Not all secondary ticket brokers are the same. I have made many purchases, usually using StubHub. I tried Vivid and will not return.
The service charges for expensive tickets are much more than that of StubHub but that is not my concern. Vivid lies to customers.

Because of the venue's restrictions on certain activities, a hard copy ticket is required.

They cannot guarantee the seats or the medium, even if the medium is specified. When I recieved paper that would be a problem, I called to address this. I received double talk and attempts to convince me that the printed paper was just as good. Quirky as the venue may be, it is not. Certain activities require hard copy tickets.

There was no attempt to resolve this problem, only attempts to convince me that what was provided is satisfactory for entrance into the venue. This was about more than entrance. In a roundabout way, they said there is nothing they can do about it. When I asked them to word it that way, they said "I didn't say that."

I was offered the "opportunity" to sell the paper on Vivid's site, where Vivid could make more money on another misrepresentation. Two wrongs do not make a right and me passing my problems to the next unsuspecting fool is not acceptable to me. Now their customer service reps have lied to and insulted me.

Beware: Vivid treats $300 premium tickets no differently than a standing room voucher.

The overpricing I can live with, that's just business. The deception I cannot.

Finally, they offered to allow me to send the paper back (I eat all the freight) and would email me instructions in 15 minutes. That was good enough for me. I accepted. They never contacted me.

If the business model is "our way or the highway," I can respect that. Just be open about it. Vivid plays by that code and pretends that it does not.

Customer satisfaction simply does not matter to this company. Issues with StubHub get resolved. Issues with Vivid get ignored.
