From reading a lot of the other reviews I feel very lucky with my Go Outdoors store.

I have no problem paying £5 for a card. I have used the the price match a couple of times and saved quite a bit of cash. These savings alone have more than covered the cost of the card.

The staff at the Swindon store are always courteous and knowledgeable. The staff here seem to be the type who would use the equipment and therefore know what they are talking about.

Of course they are not always the cheapest, and its impossible to be the cheapest all the time but their price match means I dont have to worry about getting the best price.

My only advice is that you really have to know their pricing and know what is the best price. They do various offers meaning items sold at e.g. a stove rrp £20, reduced to £6.99 one week and then on sale at a bargain price of £9.99 the following week.

Great to hear of your satisfaction with GO Outdoors.

Just for anybody reading this I would like to confirm our pricing policy.

We have a saving of at least 10% on all of our products RRP's, sometimes upto 70%, when you sign up to our discount card for just £5.00 per year. Every week we have one week only offers which offer further discounts from the RRP on various items throughout the store for a limited time as advertised in our flyers, website and in store.

For example, the Hi Gear Single Burner has a retail price of £20, with a discount card of £9.99 but will often be on a one week deal at the fantastic price of £6.99. Bargain!!!

Is that worth £5.00 per year I hear you ask? Heres the other beneits of our discounr card:
Price Guarantee - find a cheaper price on any UK website on any of our products and we'll beat it by 10%
Exclusive Offers - receive regular updates through e-mail detailing new products, money off coupons and special offers
Reserve and Collect - shop online and reserve your products in your local store to collect the next day
Flyers - recieve our monthly flyers detailing all of our exclusive offers and promoted products

Hope that helps anybody that feels confused.

Why buy a card? Seriously - what other retailer charges customers an annual fee so they can get their 'best prices' ... if Asda started charging so you could slap your rear as you walked out the store for an 'Asda Price' how many millions of customers would they loose?

Seriously you don't need to spend £5 a year - whats funny now is you don't need a card to buy online with them, so your being double done - double pricing from a double standards retailer ... WAKE UP THE GREAT BRITISH PUBLIC - Wake up!
