“Arrogant staff taking advantage of ignorant customers”

Bought a bike here in summer 2012 for £400, i.e. mid range, mid quality. Got a puncture, so took it in to buy new tyres and inner tubes. Discovered the tyres supplied were not kevlar, as advertised, but cheap junk. Was told: not our fault, blame the manufacturer. :(

Took it in for a service in December 2012. Came back with a slight click in the pedal area. Took it in again, came back again with a louder click. Took it in AGAIN, suggesting there might be a problem with the bottom bracket. Was told: no, it's your pedals. Bought new pedals. No change in problem. Got fed up and decided to go elsewhere. Bottom bracket removed to reveal disaster: totally rusted up bearing cage on one side, disintegrated cage on the other with bearings lying in a group at the bottom of the bracket. Quite clearly had never been service or greased in the service in December, or in the repeated visits to fix it since then.

Very unhappy customer indeed.
