“Inaccurate information and poor customer service”

Written on: 05/03/2013

Utterly disappointed at the poor service provided by Evans Cycles. I placed an order for a pair of road cycling shoes on Sat 16 Feb at the Bristol store for home delivery. At the time of ordering I was told the shoes were in stock and would take 3-5 days. After 4 days I rang to check the status of my order only to be told that the shoes were now not in stock in my size and had been ordered direct from the supplier (despite me checking on Evans' website daily and the site stating that the shoes were in fact in stock). On the 10th day of waiting, for the first time the shoes in my size were now being advertised on the website as not in stock and to contact Evans for availability. I rang again to find out what was happening. The next day I was contacted and informed my shoes were now finally in and that they would be with me the following day (the only bit of good news in this whole process). To wait 12 days for a pair of shoes is unacceptable, particularly as the website was showing the shoes in my size were in stock every day for the first 10 days. I am a regular online buyer of road bike equipment and have used other online cycling retailers with no problems whatsoever. This is the first time I have bought from Evans Cycles and I became more and more despondent and disappointed as time went on. This whole affair will make me consider using Evans Cycles again.
