Discovered I needed glasses for the first time at Tesco, optician was great. Bought two pairs, was never notified of when they arrived in store as I was told, I had to hassle and hassle. I returned FIVE times because my glasses needed adjusting (they did not offer this service when I picked them up, then the machine was broken, then someone else couldn't adjust them because my face was just too wonky apparently).
One pair of glasses seemed better than the other, went back twice, told they're fine some glasses just aren't as good as others. Wrote to customer services, they said to send them in. Tesco Opticians in store got arsey and insisted on seeing my letter, then said I have to post them despite my letter saying to take them to store if I preferred. Eventually sent them off, five weeks later I get a letter saying yes your glasses are actually fault, incorrect lenses inserted and thus you get additional glare from them. Store tried to fob me off so many times I have insisted they send off my other pair for assessment because I just don't trust anything about them anymore.
Shoddy service. In store I was even told my complaint was probably handled wrongly and they should have 'just reglazed' my glasses and sent me on my way..! Well this still wouldn't have fixed the problem and I don't think its a sensible idea to undermine your colleagues at customer services either.
Awful awful awful. Should have gone to Specsavers, wont ever go back to Tesco!
