IRSW's review of Vashi -

“Don't trust Vashi's diamond grades”

Written on: 06/04/2017 by IRSW (1 review written)

Vashi describes its diamonds using the standard 4 Cs, but in my experiance the only thing which was reliably described was its size/carat. I ordered a D/VVS1, and received a diamond with black inclusions which were plainly visible without magnification.
I pointed this out to Vashi, whose CEO then reportedly inspected it, and he saw to it that I received a replacement with the characteristics which I originally ordered: D/VVS1, albeit they suggested to me that the inclusions in the first diamond must have appeared spontaneously (Yes they actually said this). The substitute stone arrived and it too was visibly included, so I arranged for 2 independent assessments to be undertaken on it. The results were that it was an I (colour) / SI2 (clarity), 5 grades lower than Vashi's own grades, in both regards. I would recommend steering well clear of this company and that you ignore their self-engineered hype, its not deserved.
