“Just terrible ”

After their 2 attempts at building us a “quality suite” I wouldn’t let them build my dogs a bed ????. 6 months and 3 grand later it is time to put this to bed because it isn’t worth the heartache. All we can do is spread the word !!! KEEP WELL AWAY terrible craftsmen and terrible company .

“after 6 weeks i had problems..but a few more after ”

please do not buy from this company. i bought a sofa and footstool from them in february..£1800 in the shop they look really great. but when you get them. nothing like the shop..in the shop they have velcro to hold the cushions on,..but not on the item you get.when i got my sofa,I noticed after you stand up.the cushion all fall off the sofa.because they are so cheap and llght.but the big problems started after 6 weeks. the springs went in the center.i reported this,they sent some out from homecare to fix it weeks later.after taking it to bits. he told me they put cheap plastic clips on, you need to get them to replace these,,but he did fix it.so i told them..i thought that was it.i can enjoy the sofa everything will be ok..then a few weeks later the cushions started to look uneven so i checked them all round ..the piping had broken on all the cushions.which took the strenght structure off the cushion it looked like a wet wrag..so i told them..id take them round to them to fix the piping really a simple job i asked them to put real piping core in and fix them, after a week or so i collected the covers the sales manager said she had checked them.its ok to collect . i brought them home put them on the cushions.and noticed they bodged up them and 1 cover still had a break in it..so i took it back.to show them the fault and told them all this..even the chairs it the show room had broken piping . on their cushion.so i left it with them to fix .days later i went to collect.put this back on my cushion.and noticed they glued the piping on all the cushions, and bodged up the piping with a piece of leather.so i emailed them back, its impossibe to speak to any one.. only over email, and thats difficult enough, but anyway i said if anything else happens to these cushions, i want you to replace them all.they sent me a swatch sample to compare.so i said it looks fine.then the piping broken again on 2 more cushions so i looked inside the cover and noticed they had bodged / stuck to different type of cushion totally different quality with glue 2 different colours ,once you sat on these cushions the heat of your body undid the glue.and the cushions started to fall apart.i got back to them yet again.they promised to make me a full set that was in august .they make all the excuses.the can.to fob you off.but this is a new sofa.now they tell me its unlikely i will get these cushions this year..i have asked for a refund, but doubt ill get that.so i will take this as a loss.whats the point of a 5 year guarentee if you cannot fix anything.my sofa is 8 mnths old now.but all these faults happened after 6 weeks.. so if you bought or are about to buy from these people.please check the velcro under the cushions because it dont excist also check the piping round the edges, and look inside the covers for bodging glued together cushion. they dont have a customers service, so impossible to contact.. i will update this review once they get back. but if anybody wants to see photos of these faults message me or even come have a look.for yourself they got back to me today saying they cant refund me.after 6 weeks the sofa fell to bits.. this company will never. get back to you. you have to constantly email them.no other way. im lucky because i live 5 mins away.but they still fob you off..so really be aware of all this..because when you need to get somthing fixed because ive been waiting 10 months so far..and my £1800 sofa looks like a wet rag.dont become another ignored customer like everybody on here..they are still trying to fob me off after 6 months they just got back by email..saying i was lying..i keep all the emails, so i was able to show i was telling the truth..so you buyers keep all these emails too. just might call you a liar too. just embarrising...

i sent them my covers for the 4th time to be repaired. over a month ago..not heard a word from them,so i emailed them,because theres no other way of contacting these.people...they told me they sent them to me..but had no proof of anyone signing for these back..then they got back to.say sorry they are still here.waiting,for the leather to arrive in..since august 2020....what a sham.
even up till now march 2021... they still ignore all the faults i had i have been sat on this sofa like this without covers and bodged up cushions since new the wont do anything about this..

“Stay well clear!!! Awful company!”

We bought two armchairs and they were frankly hideous; design, colour, smell - the lot! Nothing like the pictures available on the website. We returned them but they charged us £225 for this; trying to recoup the money through small claims court now. Their customer services is abysmal and dishonest. Stay well clear and don't trust the reviews on their website, they only post the ones they like!!

“QUITE POSSIBLY THE WORST COMPANY IN THE UK ”

Where do I start , ok if there is a positive if you pay for their most expensive leather it is ok , anything else is simply rubbish. Otherwise .. The products ( dont believe what they say about themselves) they do not know what quality and craftsmanship is Deign poor Sizing all over the place never what they advertise , first lot of sofas we ordered were all a foot shorter than they were supposed to be. Returned with hassle Delivery times is twice what they promise Comfort is non existent that two lots of sofas ( I did not learn from my first experience) and two different armchairs . The company has no integrity it lies often and does not respect consumer law, they think that their version overrides the rule of law in the UK. They are consistently being reported to Manchester Trading Standards. They advertise new but will slip in a showroom item ( basically second hand) at every opportunity. Communications are arrogant and for the most part non existent. Looking back all the signs were there ,I never paid attention I so wanted them to be wrong . I should have trusted my instincts . experience make my mistake, learn from it and avoid this company like the plague ( original order Edmund Sofas and manchester Chair, and foot stool second attempt 3 Arundel pieces) What company uses fake email names there are about half a dozen names they use which they employ at random so childish. They belong in the 70's

“The worst of british craftmanship!”

I took delivery last week of a new sofa with 'Duratec' cushions, which allow you I quote 'to sink into the sofa' The cushions are so overfilled, they are rock hard and I have to wedge my feet against the coffee table to stop myself from sliding off them. In addition, the studwork is higgledy piggledy and two studs overlap each other so they are sticking out. Have complained and taken the cushions into the showroom yesterday, not interested! Shocking service. Legal advice being considered.

“SHOCKING AFTER SALES”

BOUGHT FURNITURE 1 YR 2 WEEKS AGO - NOTICED PROBLEMS 3 MONTHS AGO BUT HAVE BEEN ILL SO UNABLE TO INFORM COMPANY. THEY REFUSE TO SEND ANYONE OUT TO LOOK AT PROBLEMS. IT APPEARS YOU HAVE TO KEEP THEIR FURNITURE IN A DARKENED ROOM WITH NO HEATING AND TRY YOUR UTMOST NOT TO SIT ON IT. YOU WILL RECEIVE NO ADVICE ON HOW TO LOOK AFTER THE FURNITURE WHEN YOU RECEIVE IT, BUT IF YOU BUY WHAT YOU BELIEVE TO BE A GOOD PRODUCT TO USE THEY WILL THEN TELL YOU YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE USED IT !!!! IT IS GOING TO COST US CLOSE ON £500 TO TAKE THE MATTER FURTHER - WE WILL CONSIDER THIS MONEY WELL SPENT - THEY HOPE WE WILL GO AWAY BUT WATCH THIS SPACE ! THE FURNITURE SHOULD BE SENT WITH A "HEALTH WARNING"

“I nearly bought from them.........”

I was looking to buy 2 leather chairs and a sofa from them but found it all too difficult. First issue was they had a dimension of one of the pieces wrong - their sister company The English Sofa Co - had a different dimension. I told them I thought there was a problem and asked them to measure it - they came back confirming the same, incorrect, dimension - I had to say can you actually physically measure it please, and, sure enough, they came back with a corrected figure - no hint of apology or recognition they had been wrong. I made a 400 mile round trip to see the items. They use neither of their names at the factory/showroom - they are called 'Forest', something they do not even tell people who have said they are visiting, unless you know this you will be driving around like me looking for them. I wanted to talk numbers and was being helped by a young man, but, he could not make any decisions about prices/discounts and kept having to speak to whoever did make such decisions in a side office off the showroom. This meant him having to go backwards and forwards to this person - I had driven a round trip of 400 miles but they could not be bothered leaving their office to walk 50 feet to speak to me.I wanted the items but came home and thought I just can't do business with people with such a poor attitude.

“First Class Lounge at Stoke-on-Trent make over”

Vistited the Chesterfield Company showroon in Salford this weekend and was pleasantly surprised. Lots of quality furniture on show and we found a fantastic sofa (blenheim 3-seater)just what we were looking for and made to measure to our requirements. Great choice of different materials and grades of leather. Also was shown round the upholstery factory which was a nice touch. Very helpful and friendly staff. Would highly recommend a visit to the showroon. We can't wait now for our new sofa to be made and delivered to us!! Mark and Sarah, Leeds

Well, good luck. I had mine made to order, see my review. I've formally written to the MD with pictures, a sales clerk has replied on his behalf, not interested in my complaint. I shall be seeking legal advice along with a number of other people by the look of it!

“Looking for a Chesterfield - you found the right place.”

Didn't think i'd ever buy a Chesterfield, but we recently converted our garage into a rather nice looking study (if I do say so myself). Anyway searched online and wanted to put a Chesterfield armchair in the room. I'd bought an armchair and a office chair, both Chesterfield syles for under £1000.00 for both pieces. I've bought more expensive furniture in the past, but the quality of these two pieces matches the expensive furniture i've bought, but a fraction of the price. No problems in reccomending this business, quality, time to make and deliver and price were all excellent.

I was browsing websites to find a chair for my dad's study, and I came across this one - http://www.thechesterfieldcompany.com/products/executive_swivel_chair_vintage.php I liked it better than all the rest and it really was the best value. And the showroom is right in Manchester. I went over there to check out what else they offer and I was really surprised by the range of products they showed me. The guy took me around the whole showroom,he was really nice. I bought my dad that chair. He really liked it too,the delivery took a bit less than two weeks,right on time! Thumbs up!!

“Chesterfield Arm Chair - Black Leather - My Best Purchase”

I purchased a Chesterfield Black Leather Armchair from The Chesterfield Company.com. I don't buy online without having seen the item in person, so I went to their Manchester showroom. There was a 3str Ludlow on display, not the armchair I was looking for, but by seeing the quality of the sofa and choosing from a wide range of different leathers on display I was confident enough to order my armchair from them. I was quoted 4 - 6 weeks delivery and it came in week 5, on time. The delivery was done by two men, who were polite and very efficient. They brought in my chair, unpacked and took away the rubbish, and they were away. I am very pleased with my order and have already recommended the company to my sister who is looking at buying a sofa set. It was great to use a local British manufacturer and I have personally thanked the staff for the great new addition to my home.

Can anybody tell me how i can take this to a court? I had this sofa for 12 months but cannot use it because they have not fixed the cushions. As yet they are still at there factory for 6 weeks so far and the interiors are still there since august 2020. This company just keep blaming their suppliers or covid. I want a full refund because this sofa was bodged up since new they let it leave the factory bodged up. Please note..this is nothing to do with, another company called the chesterfield SOFa company in Rawtenstall, they have a great reputation...so totally innocent in all this.
