I ORDERED A 13 PEICE SET, AND A PARASOL AND SIDE TABLE ONLINE ON 1ST MARCH. I THEN EMAILED CUSTOMER SERVICES TO QUERY THE DELIVERY DATE AND PROMPTLY RECEIVED A REPLY TO SAY THAT IT WOULD BE AVAILABLE FROM 9TH APRIL AND TO CONTACT THEM BY PHONE TO ARRANGE DELIVERY. WHEN I DID THAT THE ADVISOR SEEMED REALLY UNSURE OF WHAT HE WAS DOING AND ASKED ME WHO HAD TOLD ME THAT IT WAS AVAILABLE FROM THE 9TH. I HAD A NAME IN SALES SO HE CONTINUED TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR DELIVERY ON 15TH APRIL. I DID NOT RECEIVE THIS DATE AS CONFIRMATION BY EMAIL. I ARRANGED THE DAY OFF WORK AND THEN PHONED WHEN I HADN'T RECEIVED THE DELIVERY BY 1PM. THEN THE NIGHTMARE BEGAN. I WAS HOLDING FOR 20 MINUTES, WHEN I EVENTUALLY GOT THROUGH, THE FEMALE ADVISOR SAID IT WAS A BAD LINE (I DIDN'T THINK SO) AND THAT SHE WOULD CALL ME BACK. ABOUT 10 MINUTES LATER SHE DID AND WHEN SHE LOOKED UP MY DETAILS (WITHOUT PUTTING ME ON HOLD) SHE WAS SAYING "OH NO!! ITS NOT EVEN IN STOCK!" TUTTING, HUFFING AND PUFFING. I TRIED TO TALK TO HER BUT I THINK SHE HAD MUTED ME INSTEAD OF PUTTING IT ON HOLD. SHE COULDN'T HEAR ME AND KEPT REPEATING MY TELEPHONE NUMBER. I THEN HUNG UP IN FRUSTRATION AND DISBELIEF THINKING THAT SHE WOULD CALL ME BACK. SHE DIDN'T.
I THEN WENT OUT TRYING NOT TO WASTE A WHOLE DAY OFF. I CALLED BACK AT 5PM AND WAITED 15 MINUTES ON HOLD, EXPLAINED THE SITUATION AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE CONTAINER NOT ARRIVING BUT I WAS GUARANTEED TO RECIEVE MY FURNITURE IN THE MIDDLE OF MAY. NO ONE HAD CONTACTED ME TO TELL ME THIS AND I NEEDED THE FURNITURE FOR EASTER WEEKEND. I ASKED FOR A MANAGER TO CALL ME THE NEXT DAY AND I HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING. RUNG AGAIN TODAY, HAVE BEEN TOLD ANOTHER EXCUSE AND NO MANAGER CAN SPEAK TO ME AND APPARENTLY HE WILL ONLY TELL ME THE SAME THING!!
TO TOP IT ALL I RECEIVED A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION SURVEY FROM THEM THE DAY IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE DELIVERED AND THEN THE NEXT DAY ANOTHER EMAIL WITH SINCERE APOLIGIES THAT THEY SENT THE SURVEY OUT TOO SOON!!! BUT NO COMMUNICATION ABOUT THE FACT THAT THEY HAD MISSED THE DELIVERY DATE.
I WOULD HAVE ACCEPTED A DELAY ON DELIVERY BUT NOT WHEN THEY ARE OBVIOUSLY JUST GIVING FALSE EXPECTATIONS TO GET ORDERS IN.
DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY IF YOU WOULD LIKE YOUR GARDEN FURNITURE BEFORE CHRISTMAS OR NOT AT ALL. I AM NOW CANCELLING MY ORDER.

Dear Sir,

I apologise profusely for the immense inconveniences you have experienced, and I greet the points you have raised with great concern. I can assure you that unfortunately we did not receive sufficient quantities of stock of this item to satisfy the orders we had amassed earlier this year as a direct result of the warmer weather experienced this winter. Although we are not in control of this we are in control of the way we communicate information with you and serve you as a customer and in this instance we have not provided a service to the required standard.

We here at Rattan Direct Ltd. are continuously striving towards providing an efficient, effective and high quality service to compliment the quality of our products, and your feedback will allow us to learn from these mistakes and improve as a company. However, with regards to your order again I express my sincerest apologies for any stress and inconvenienced you have incurred and I urge you to contact us if you would like to further discuss the points you have raised.
