I bought an item of furniture from Christies recently which turned out to be the incorrect size from what I had asked for. Their first reaction was to say that I couldn't return it and returns were above their position so I would have to speak to the manager. They were adamant it was my problem and not theirs - as the furniture specialists, when taking the order they should be the ones knowing the different size options and guiding their customers. I was abashed by the after sales service received; they were very obnoxious and I felt like I had to fight my corner to get the product I ordered when the error was with them. When waiting for the replacement I was told that it was probably best I drive up to their warehouse to collect it if I wanted it in a timely manner, otherwise it'll arrive in their Penryn store 'at some point'. I would strongly advice people not to purchase anything from Christies, they're ready and waiting to take your money but if you have any issues they proved to be extremely unhelpful.

Excellent choice of high quality furniture and all very well priced. Delivery came on time. All in all very happy and will be going back.

After a relative bought over £2000 of furniture in Christies and the lady she dealt with was lovely I thought I would shop there too. Unfortunately I was not so lucky and had to couldn't be bothered 'you have to buy if from the catalogue as we don't keep everything on the floor' guy. Very patronising and down right rude. Will not be going back and will definitely not recommend them to friends.

My husband and I ordered a 3 seater reclining sofa with 2 matching recliner chairs. Christie's had them hand made in Italy for us and delivered in 6 weeks. The quality and comfort is outstanding and a cut above, yet the prices were much lower than the other furniture stores were charging for less authentic high quality leather sofas. We also found Christie's Furniture to be a genuine pleasure to do business with in terms of friendliness and professionalism etc They have a large showroom with all sorts of furniture and beds and we will certainly be back when we are ready for more. This is the 3rd time I've bought something from Christie's Furniture and I find them reliable, professional and courteous. Above all the furniture that they sell is the best you will find in Cornwall. It's stylish, good quality and very well priced

From the moment we walked in to the time we left we were looked after very professionally ( But not hassled ) by a very good team in Penryn. The range of settees on offer were excellent and made for a easier choice.

Very Happy I highly recommend Christie's Furniture store in Cornwall. The prices are much lower than any where else I looked given how high the quality is. I bought a Farnborough corner group and a matching 2 seater sofa last year which I absolutely love. I also just took delivery yesterday of a New York oak console table, hifi unit and coffee table which looks absolutely stunning all together in my living room. The service I received was very good. They told me it would take approximately 2 weeks and as I was excited to get it, I kept phoning them every few days for updates (which I apologise for!!) but they were always very helpful and polite. It ended up taking 15 days so not too bad and definitely worth the wait. There's loads of other bits I liked so will be returning when I'm ready. All in all a great furniture store. Lizzie

I bought a corner sofa and a 2 seater sofa from Christie's Furniture which was delivered early January and we are very happy with it. The service we received was excellent. They told us it would take 4 - 6 weeks to be made for us but then they called us after 3 weeks to say they could deliver it and when do you want it where it was delivered the next day. All in all we both think it's a gem of a store as it has a huge range of various furniture where all of it is stylish, good quality and surprisingly cheap given this. Highly recommended.

The corner suite fits the room perfectly and looks really good. The only criticism I would have is that the fabric on the 'corner chair' always puckers up and needs straightening after you sit on it! Maybe it's just the type of fabric. Getting used to it! The sofa is really comfortable.

As I said at the time of our last purchase we (my wife & I ) were pleaseantly surprised with the professional attitude to our needs & the service provided was great I did tell your staff that we walked out a few months ago when we were intending to purchase at lease 1 new bed but the salesman on duty at the time had his head in his mobile phone-presumably texting someone When we left he did not even acknowledge us-so I suppose we/you were lucky we gave your company a second chance Living locally we always try to support local business regrards Ray & Vicki Clark

I have been meaning to write a review for a while about this place as the quality of the products and customer service is absolutely atrocious! We bought 2x 2 seater leather recliners and a dining set from the Penryn store in Cornwall and at first we were really pleased with our purchases despite them being delivered by the most unprofessional, scruffy looking delivery men who seemed to have been hired purely for the fact that they had a van and were probably cheap. However, our joy completely dissipated shortly after this, it's true that we had absolutely no problems with the dining set and are still happy with that till this day, however, the sofas are the poorest example I have had ever been unfortunate enough to purchase. After only a couple of months they were literally falling apart at the seams and since then have continued to unravel at every possible seam, I have had to repair them on numerous occasions. At the first sign of deterioration I contacted the store and was spoke to very rudely by the manager whose attitude seemed to be that it was just tough so I wrote to the head office and sent photos of the ruined sofas. I had told them I did not want to deal with the manager again as he was rude to say the least and they still continued to use him to contact me, it felt as though they were sticking together to get out of putting right their wrongs. I had several exchanges with head office and was told that if you have animals or children that your year guarantee is void....considering the amount of households that have either or indeed both, I thought it was a ridiculous clause to have in a guarantee and I was not made aware of this when I purchased the sofas either, I pointed out the fact that millions of households have pets/children and they told me that the decision does not lie with them but with the manufacturers, trying to make themselves seem blameless and shirk their responsibilities. Following this I asked them for the manufactures details so I could contact them directly, it was at this point that they changed their mind and told me that it was up to them but they were not going to do anything about it, in such a manner as to say that the discussion was over and there was no point trying to reason with them further. I will never be buying anything from them again and I urge any prospective buyers to remember when you purchase something pets/children void your guarantee and that the customer service they showed you at the beginning of the transaction does not extend to aftersales.

furniture fantastic service average biggest let down was we ordered a 3str and 2str recliner only to be told once they had been delivered we had to dispose of the huge amount of packing mainly cardboard a problem as we had no car and council wouid nor dispose of be warned before you buy

The gentleman who served me went out of his way to make sure I bought exactly what I wanted and needed. I returned and ordered a sofa bed to compliment the three seater sofa and reclineing chair and oak sideboard and tables I'd previously ordered. The oak furniture and sofa bed were delivered and now I await the delivery of the three seater and chair . Thankyou for your wonderful service and help .My only dislike is having to await the delivery of my remaining furniture hopefully as I was told in 2 weeks time .

Great selection of things and in this case we needed a sofa, found one we liked, had all the info explained clearly and in detail so we placed an order and even managed to get a few pennies knocked off! Great local store and would definitely go back

My first mistake was to visit this place. I purchased a new sofa and when it was delivered it was not what I ordered. I called the shop straight away and after explaining what had happened I was told in a very rude manor and round about way that it was my fault and that they would do nothing about it. When my husband got back from work he called the shop. As you can imagine my husband was very angry and what made the whole situation worst was my husbanand was swore at by the member of staff and said that they dont have to listen to this ****. My husband demanded to speak to the manager and to his horror was told that you already are. Trying to speak to anyone else there is impossible so we have decided to move on from this due to my ill health as it was only making it worst. It wasnt until a fellow friend of mine who also had a bad experience showed me these reviews that I have decided to share my bad experience. I only wish that I had seen these first as I would not have wasted my time. Stay well clear of christies.
