We received an E mail purporting to be from a "Travel Agency" telling us that a hotel we had booked through Venere had canceled our reservations. But all we had to do was contact the phone number in the E mail and they could fix it. The E mail at first glance looked ok as it had the correct dates and Hotel Name for our visit in Lucca, Italy but a wrong confirmation number. We almost fell for it. We then checked our reservation confirmation E mail from Venere and used the phone number Venere had supplied if we had any problems. They contacted the Hotel in Question directly and confirmed that we still had the reservation in question. Thanks to Venere we avoided falling victim to an online scam.
