Two Months Spent £273 in total £126 callout plus parts and still have the same fault. Charged £147 for spare part but only cost £85 on manufacturers website. Emailed a letter of complaint 10th Feb and no reply

“Avoid Company”

I booked for a repair for my tumble dryer. The engineer visited and didn't have the part. I paid him for the visit, which included his return visit for the repair. Head office then rang to say it was a two person job and I would have to pay for another engineer. Total cost would be more than a new machine. The refused to refund me for my initial payment. Terrible service. C

“Incompetent and Inexperienced on Modern Miele Dishwashers”

After reading several good reviews we thought Glotech repairs would be a good choice to look at an F25 fault on our Miele G7102 Dishwasher. It had given us excellent results on daily use over the last 30 months. We gave all the appropriate fault code make/model/serial number data to the call centre when making the booking, so we expected a good outcome from the visit. The Glotech technician attended on the day and at the time agreed, however he readily admitted that he had never seen a "Miele Dishwasher and really didn't have a clue". He plugged in a wall mains socket tester, that confirmed out kitchen ring main was in good condition / safe. He then laid the machine on the floor and removed the bottom panel. Unfortunately this put water into the circuit board area. Miele confirmed that NONE of their dishwashers should ever be laid horizontal for this very reason. Without doing a single electrical test he made a list of new parts that would be required and left. We then received an invoice for his "investigations" together with a long list of parts required. Luckily both my wife and I are electronics engineers and realised our mistake in asking Glotech Repairs to have a look. We then contacted Miele who quickly rectified the problem, after drying the PCB's. The machine has worked faultlessly since. We refused to pay for the Glotech technician, as he didn't know what he was doing, potentially damaged our machines delicate electronics and basically listed every moving part in his "diagnosis". We have explained our reasons for not paying in three phone calls and eight emails. Today we have received threatening letter, with an inflated £25 charge for debt collecting and more charges to follow. To avoid the incompetence of this technician, wasted time, delayed repair and potentially expensive litigation We suggest that you go elsewhere for your repair. Date of experience: 27 July 2023

Sounds very similar to my recent experience with. Miele washing machine. Engineer sent my Glotech, knowing the name and model, proclaimed he was not trained in the newer models and could not perform any diagnostics as did not know how to remove the fascia. The machine is 4 years old. Hardly new!

“No show no repairs ”

Fourth call out for repairs to a dishwasher that they have never successfully repaired. Three times an engineer has failed to turn up on the day,each time costing me an expensive day's holiday. No record of any job booked in today despite two separate Glotech agents telling me my appointment was today, one as recently as Tuesday. When I ask to speak to a manager, I'm told that there isn't one available until Monday. Between loss of earnings and the cost of the plan I could have bought two new dishwashers instead.

“Rescheduled SIX TIMES - and washing machine never repaired”

Glotech - please don't go there; it's not worth your mental health. I could have smashed the phone having to listen again to Glotech's utterly misleading self-promotional blah-blah when on hold, trying to get the washing machine they were paid to repair actually repaired. A month after that first call out - where the main concern of the engineer was who was paying - and six reschedulings later I finally got them to admit that they couldn't do the work. The part needed was never, and I assume now, never would be with the engineer on the day. I have been on hold, chasing for information, continually rescheduling visits for more hours than I want to count and dealing with my 90 year old mother's washing in launderettes, with neighbours etc. for weeks. I have now had to buy a new washing machine. The people who speak to you on the phone are uniformally nice, doing their limited best,but they are working for an appalling outfit.

“Rogue, money grabbing and underhanded company”

I took out a 'repair and protect' policy with them for an appliance for a year. I never received details of the policy, only a DD instructions. I chased them for it for a while, but then I forgot. They did the repair and started to draw the DD. I have 12 flats and something is always going on with them, but recently I suspected that the Glotech policy should have ended a while ago. In fact they drew the money for a further 10 months. No renewal notification, nothing. I just called them to ask for my money back. Talked to Amna who was singularly unhelpful. She said they sent me the policy... I never received it... And it's in their terms and conditions that they just keep drawing the money until I cancel it. What?!?! That's underhanded. Every other insurance policy asks you if you wish to renew after 12 months. They advertise it for 12 months!!! Not sure I would have spotted this little gem even if I did receive the T&Cs and they don't point this out verbally when you take the policy out. She was not willing to refund the overpayment, kept saying we emailed you the T&C's. Glotech just lost my custom forever. They are a rogue, money grabbing and underhanded company.

“Never ending nightmare ”

A simple repair on my dishwasher is no entering it’s fifth weeks. 2 now show, no repairs yet. My dishwasher has actually been damaged, kitchen flooded, dishwasher taken a park and never put back together!! £165 later, no repairs has been done! Total waste of space! They are awful

“Zero stars, AVOID”

ZERO STARS. Booked a repair of my oven and told them exactly what was wrong and what part needed fixing. Sent a photo of oven serial number on request. ‘Engineer’ turned up without any parts, took the same photo that I’d already sent them and tried to charge me a large call out fee for a unsuccessful 2 minute visit. These are sham, AVOID at all costs. Their business model seems to be based on charging big call out fees with no intention of completing the work. After weeks of silence they have now sent a ‘final notice’ demanding payment with extra fees threatening debt collectors. Terrifying for a young family in a cost of living crisis. I haven’t even been sent one invoice and they have gone straight to final notice scare tactics. PLEASE don’t use this company

“Money Grabbing Time Wasters - don't bother to complain”

My tenant in Basingstoke returned from holiday late November to find their fridge-freezer had stopped working. I contacted Glotech expecting a next day visit as advertised on their web site. This is what happened: 1. The first available visit date was several days later the next week. 2. This visit was cancelled on the day and rescheduled for five days later. 3. After arriving, the engineer simply sniffed inside the freezer compartment and announced that the condenser had broken and the unit was therefore unrepairable. He was in and out in two minutes. I repeated this test shortly after, and the only smell I could detect was due to plastic inside the freezer compartment. 4. Next week after chasing them Glotech offered replacement freezers at full price plus an installation cost of £169. 5. I had to remind them of the web site promise to reimburse 50% of the cost of the diagnosis visit. 6. I was about the pay for the replacement when I remembered to check what date it could be installed. Good job too, because the answer turned out to be February the next year! This is what they say on the web site. Based on my experience my opinion is in brackets. 1. Same / next day appointments (untrue) 2. Fast reliable service (untrue) 3. Web site tricks to lull you into thinking this a local company e.g. a landing page headlined as Basingstoke Appliance Repairs (misleading by design; the company is based in St Albans). 4. Promise to refund 50% of initial call out fee if you buy from them (worthless). I have complained to the Customers Service Manager on the basis that the service is not remotely as advertised. Her reply includes “With regards to the replacement appliance, our installers are booked up until the middle of February now. This time of year is incredibly busy as I am sure you can understand, it is unfortunate but this is completely out of our control.” My opinion is that if employing fitters is completely out of their control they should not be in the business.

“Average service - EXORBITANT prices”

This company has charged me £168 for fitting a lamp for my cooker hood - excluding the price of the bulb!! On the same visit, the engineer replaced a single screw which had dropped from the cooker door all for the second fee of £111. Never again - and nor should you !

“£700 taken from us and we have two broken washing...”

Engineer broke new machine on delivery, refused to take old machine (even though we’d paid £65 for the gold fitting service). So far we are down £700, including the cost of the new machine which they broke and the fitting service. the call centre workers refuse to put you through to managers, refuse to arrange collection of the old machine, refuse to cancel the monthly platinum plan, refuse to refund you the money for the gold fitting service despite the fact that the fitting service hasn’t been carried out. i’ve been waiting for a call back from a manager for over 2 weeks. Anytime i call i’m told the managers are “ in a meeting. avoid at all costs, they are taking your money, not providing promised service and their engineers are incompetent

“Avoid At All Costs!”

Used to be very good but dreadful now. Shelled out £250 so far for two separate visits and a replacement element I’m sure we didn’t need, and my oven still doesn’t work. Said they couldn’t do any more because they couldn’t buy the parts, but I’ve been able to source them online. Both management and customer service didn’t even have the decency to respond to either of my letters - avoid at all costs.

“Zero stars!”

If I could give zero stars I would. An engineer came to fix my washing machine and stated that he needed to order spare parts and arrange another day for installation. No problem. A week later he was sick so second appointment delayed. He eventually came, installed said parts and left. The machine was worse than before and now was causing a burning smell. A week later a different engineer came to inspect and stated that the parts I had paid for were not needed and that I needed something else. He left but never got back to me. A week later again a part was ordered that was stuck in France (another delay). A week later again they were scheduled to install the part but delayed it for another day. Then the next day they stated that a Trainee could not install the part alone so would have to wait ANOTHER WEEK for a qualified engineer to install. Week later and they did not turn up and just agreed to give me a refund. Six weeks it took them and then they cancel whole thing and refund me. An absolute disgrace of a company. TLDR: Bought wrong parts, never came to install correct parts, after 6 weeks they cancelled everything and gave me a refund. Disgrace.

“GLOTECH WARNING”

WARNING My LG washer dryer suddenly stopped working and I called Glotech to fix it. After waiting at home all day, the workman arrived and said the fault is either this, or that, broken (I had gathered this much from a Google search). A phone call to HQ quickly progressed from ‘the parts are not available’ to ‘we can take away your (three years) old machine and sell you a new one’. So, I got nothing for my £78, not even an engineer’s report…I asked in vain several times. Glotech shouldn’t have accepted a job they couldn’t undertake. Secondly, they shouldn’t have had the nerve to keep the money after their own failure. They’ve just grabbed my money and run. When I complained to LG about premature obsolescence, they said that’s not correct and fixed it, so I had to pay again.  WARNING

“Poor and frustrating customer service”

Had a very frustrating and poor experience with Glotech, who despite asking for details of the fault with my washer/dryer arrived without having read them. The engineer stated clearly that if the notes had been read they would have known it was a waste of time coming out. He also failed to mention that I'd get half the repair fee back if I ordered a replacement from them. Their customer service was also poor. Not what I'd expect from supposedly 'helpful professionals' I'd go else where if you can.

“Never again!”

I am a busy NHS medic with two young children. I have been without a washing machine for nearly a month as the company are unbelievably incompetent. Because of work during the pandemic I have lots of uniforms to wash. The company have had me in tears on several occasions. We have now gone to Bosch as there was no end in site with Glotech's incompetence. They are so awful that I am worried we may need to get a county court judgement to get our money back.

AVOID! Their operations are mainly focused on getting people into a 1) pre-paid diagnostic analysis, then 2) give a bogus, way overpriced quote, followed with 3) weeks later revisiting that rate and increasing the price again (now to 7x of normal market price) and 4) in case of complaints vanish with the already prepaid amount. Impossible to get a reply or an explanation from them, let alone a solution or a finished repair. Be very careful with them!

“Fault still not resolved ”

DON’T USE THIS COMPANY WHATEVER YOU DO! After several months of attempting to repair a fault on my oven Glotech have still been unable to resolve the problem. 4 Engineer visits, over £200 spent and no result. After the last visit I was told that they would refund the parts as it was clear it wasn’t those and I hadn’t used the oven. I was also told that the Senior Engineer would call me that day. A month later and no call and no response to my weekly emails. Customer service is appalling and I entered a complaint several weeks ago after a representative cut me off by putting me on hold whilst I was trying to explain the situation. She was rude, abrupt and it was like having a conversation with a stroppy teenager! I am absolutely palled by Glotech and will be seeking advice from consumer agencies as Glotech aren’t responding to my emails etc.

“Awful terrible poorer than poor service”

Poor poor poor. DO NOT USE, GO ANYWHERE ELSE! First day, installers claimed they did not have the right part. Second try, no part again claimed the smell of cannabis & said they were hallucinating, but drove off no problem. People do not hallucinate from the smell of weed, it was later I found out the worker who turned up basically couldn't be bothered to do the job, the part was probably with him. I then had to take another day off work for the third attempt at installing my fridge/freezer. Got offered £30 off my order, which I never received and is a poor offer considering the cost of me having to take three days off. The operative that dealt with the order, got told it got past up to head office. I have heard nothing from the company since my installation, I want nothing more than to do with the company and would not recommend. I could have got a much better fridge/freezer for the cost of me having to take three days off to get the job done. Got told i had to wait 12 hours to turn it on after installation because it had been stored on its side. All of this is unacceptable and very disappointing.

“Aweful Company ”

I would have given a negative star review if I had the option. This company is awful, please do not be a victim. i had a technician visit to us for fixing Miele dishwasher. The drain light was flashing and the machine was not draining. The glotech technician did nothing, just blow the air from his mouth through hose pipe and said he has cleared the garbage and problem is fixed. We paid fee of £113 and he left. On the next cycle same problem persisted. When I called glotech they said pump and hose pipe need to be replaced which will cost another £150 and one week wait. it cannot be trusted as the technician did not do any diagnose. There is no honesty, transparency and i am feeling like cheated. I have given up with them. A very very disappointed experience and awful company.
