I booked Kent appliance world via Glotech.com. service was bad from start to finish.
I booked an appointment for 8am to 1pmto fix a dishwasher , I reported to them that I had a Bosch dishwasher and the water was not heating. I was told that there vans keep the latest Diagnostic equipment and they will spend all the necessary time to identify the problem and repair on site as they have an 80% fix rate or they can order spare parts within a couple of days.
The engineer failed to arrive for the appointment, so i contacted the head office who phoned me and said my appointment was for 8-1 but they had it for 3-5 and an engineer was on there way but may be earlier. 5.00 pm and the engineer had still failed to arrive. i once again contacted the company who told me the engineer was just around the corner as they needed to get another one who was in the area as the first one was not coming now. at 5.30 an engineer arrived , when i told him that i was expecting someone between 8 and 1 he said no i wasn't as they don't start work til 9. I asked him if he would like to see the email booking but he said he wasn't interested, as he was here now and that he was on his way home when he was called to do the job.
he then turned on my machine , ran it for 2 minutes and then put his hand in and said the waters cold which means it needs a new heater element and if it was him he wouldn't bother getting it fixed as it would be £130. he also told me that the machine wasn't a Bosch but it was a Hotpoint with the Bosch name on it.
he then asked me for the £72 call out fee , but would not accept my card as payment which it says i can pay on the website. I said i'm not paying the £72 because I had already told the company that the water does not get hot and they could have told me at that point how much it would be to fix/replace the part and i could have made a decision then. Not for him to use his latest Diagnostic equipment (his hand) and tell me what i had already told him.
The engineer refused to leave my house until i paid him which i did stating that i would be in touch with Kent appliance world and Glotech,com and then to make matters worse and show the professionalism of this company the engineer would not give me a receipt for the payment. I should not have paid him at that time and asked him to leave but felt intimidated and forced into paying just to get him to leave.I strongly recommend anyone to not use either of these 2 companies as this appears to be something to force people out of money by playing the repair game. Kent appliance world has taken £72 from me after only being in my house for less than 15 minutes. I have emailed both companies and have yet to receive a reply from either.
