“Would never buy from this company again.”

I bought a fridge freezer in May 2019 which has a fault (an excrutiating high-pitched whistling sound). This is not the reason I won't be buying from Debenhams Plus again though; any company can sell a faulty item. The reason I would never buy from them again, and would urge anyone else to avoid buying from them, laziness of their after sales services. The first sign of a problem was when they initially tried to deflect me away to the manufacturer after I asked them to organise a repair. When I said I'd like them to deal with it, they said yes but asked if I was sure because, for some mysterious reason, if they have to contact the manufacturer, it would take a couple of weeks extra to have someone investigate the fault (surprisingly, it did not!). The engineer visited, and because he could not hear the sound, he did not investigate any of the mechanical parts of the fridge-freezer. He simply bent some tubes at the back so they were further apart and said "see how you get on". I have never seen his report, but Debehmans Plus insist that the manufacturers have reported to them that the device is fit for use! I did explain to them that not only could the man not hear the sound, but he did not even attempt to investigate what could be causing it. He even refused to answer me after asking him 5 or 6 times if he could hear it, both before and after he started bending the tubes. So following this failure to repair, I requested that the item be returned, which is of course my right under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Instead of following the law, Debenhams Plus instead refused to have the item returned and are trying to fob me off with the manufacturer again. I have never dealt with such a time-wasting company as this. Needless to say I have now raised my complaint officially and have reminded them of the Consumr Rights Act. Avoid this company like the plague.

“FIRST and LAST time I'll be using Debenhamsplus”

I very rarely complain or write poor reviews, but DebenhamsPlus have today really let us down. Having organised for a new fridge freezer to be delivered tomorrow - and had a call to also confirm this on Friday - I received an email (not a call or a text) to say that the product could not now be delivered FOR ANOTHER MONTH!! I had taken the day off work to be in - and my wife has spent much of the day emptying and accomodating the contents with neighbours. Having called to complain and find out if this email was a mistake, I was told they could do nothing about it apart from refund me in 4-5 working days.. no apology, no compensation, no valid reason. This is the first and last time I will be using DebenhamsPlus. Very very poor from a supposed trusted retailer.

“Absolute rubbish service”

Whatever you do, do not buy anything from this website. Ordered a Hotpoint tumbledryer for next day delivery, given a 2 hour delivery window. Once the window had passed and just gone 5pm when customer services are closed, the delivery driver phones to say his van has broken down, at the end of the day and couldn't be bothered to do the rest of the drops no doubt. By the way the delivery company is called Panther, avoid them like the plague. Product finally delivered three days later, actually arrived. Unpacked it, plugged it in and the loudest grating and graunching noises due to casing damage. Phoned Customer Services who said as it had been plugged in, a Hotpoint engineer had to inspect it and send a report in. Three days later he arrived and stated it had been dropped in transit and the casing was distorted, report to be filed and I have to phone customer services again to arrange for delivery. Did this and said I no longer wanted to deal with Debenhams but wanted a refund. Collection scheduled for today, 18 August, between 14.00 and 16.00. Gets to 17.00 and , yes you guessed it, the driver phones up to say his van has broken down, again just after customer services have closed, pretty good timing eh! Now have to wait until Monday to get hold of anyone and probably another three days to get a re-scheduled delivery that actually arrives. I cannot recall any service worse than this and the biggest mistake was to think that by using Debenhams, there was some guarantee of service. My advice to any prospective customer is DON'T, go to John Lewis or someone more reliable and using reliable delivery company whose vans do not break down regularly at 5pm, end of the working day.

“I was given 5 delivery dates”

I was given 5 delivery dates, each kept getting put back. After waiting 3 weeks I ended up cancelling because after calling them I learnt the item would not be in stock for a further 2 weeks. If I had known this in the first place it would take 5 weeks to deliver I wouldn't have ordered the Macbook and gone elsewhere in the first place. I needed this for work, I found it very irritating how terribly they managed my expectations by continuously giving me new dates over the 3 week period. Only reason I'll give it another star was the response was reasonable and those I spoke to were pleasant. However, after having this experience I won't shop here again.

“dreadful response from phone query and live chat 4 times”

i emailed this company, telephoned them and used live chat, except for one person out of 5 calls none of them could answer basic questions properly regarding warranties and after sales support on a potential mobile phone purchase. question: if the phone goes faulty under warranty, where do i send phone for repair answer: "you send it to the manufacturer" I commented the manufacturer is in china! and that in law the contract is between the customer and debenhams plus not the manufacterer therefore its up to debenhams plus to sort it. i then said because your answers do not make sense i will go elsewhere for a phone. the answer to that was "no worries" i said your company should be worried! this fiasco went on and on for 4 enquiries with various staff. based on this experience i would definitely not recommend debenhams plus. I actually thought this was an extension of debenhams store which gave me confidence to purchase, when i visited this review centre i read there is no connection!

“Wasted my time ”

I ordered a TV on Debenhams online which said it was in stock. The website stated delivery would be 2-3 working days. 4 days later I get an email from Debenhams saying they cannot deliver for another 10days. When I spoke to their customer services they said the item was not currently in stock. I had to get a refund. Totally misleading and inaccurate information on website. Poor customer service. Would never use Debenhams again.

“Bank Holiday plans carnage..... due to failed delivery”

I bought a cooker hood from Debenhams Plus prior to the last Bank Holiday and whilst I have no complaints with the product itself - it actually was very good value for money - the whole experience was a nightmare due to failed delivery and a complete lack of communications within the customer services department. I had paid extra to have it delivered on a BH Saturday..... and the fact that that it could be had swung the purchase for me. Needless to say it did not arrive. Furthermore it was impossible to find out what was happening from Debenhams Plus as they did not reply for days - let alone the 'hours' response that they boast about on their web-site. My time was utterly wasted, my builders time was wasted and the weekend kitchen work had to be put on hold ..... and to rub absolute salt into the wound..... I was given the princely sum of £10 compensation for this complete carnage in service, which Debenhams Plus admitted was their fault! Awful, awful, awful.

“Terrible Service - DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM ”

I ordered the mobile phone from Debenhams as a birthday present for my brother, had it sent directly to him. I received a call fromDebenhams last week asking me what phone I had received, I obviously didn't have this information as I had it sent directly to my brother who was told not to open till his birthday which was yesterday the 17th May, I had it delivered early as he was going away over his birthday and could take it with him. She advised that there is a chance that a different could have been sent, I did advise if this was the case I would be extremely annoyed as it was a birthday present. I continued to say that I would ring back if it was the wrong phone when he opened it. I called my brother on the 17th to find out what he actually received he advised a LG I then had to proceed to tell him it isn't the one I ordered, I may add this was horrible to do!! He then told me that he had opened the box and was looking at what it did. I then had to go on to tell him to put it back in the box as I now had to sort out this complete mess which Debenhams had caused. I honestly called Debenhams to advised the wrong phone had been received, spoke to a lady who took all the details and advised would have to pass to a different department to deal with the case and assured me that would receive a call back in the morning to sort this out. I didn't receive the call this morning and to make matters worse I received a email asking for more information, and thanking me for completing a returns form which I didn't do!! and then asking for me to take photo's of any damage of visual faults, bit difficult since I didn't have the phone, beside this has all occurred by Debenhams incompetents by sending out the incorrect phone in the first place. This is absolutely disgusting service from such a big company, will not being using again

Worst customer service ever! I would not give this company any of your money. Since buying a laptop of them which became faulty, i have been met with a catalogue of poor service - un returned calls which were promised, lost paperwork, rudeness and miss-quoting of customer rights!

I wish I had seen your review and others like it before buying a TV- which became faulty within days of delivery. Appalling customer service. I've been reading the Consumer Rights Act 2015 as it seems they have no idea what consumer law is

Ordered an iPad Pro, which was showing as in stock. Paid for next day delivery. 2 days later, no iPad, but I did just get an email saying that I might get it by 7 working days from when I placed my order, but that the courier would contact me closer to the time. Phoned through to cancel my order (never pay for the 0871 number as their menu options are longer than War & Peace read on 2 speeds too slow!), only to be told that I will get a call in around 36 hours from when I cancelled to confirm the refund. I await my confirmation call at 4:45am on Saturday!

“Disappointing”

Without a doubt the worst experience I have had with an online retailer. Purchased a laptop that didn't work, was initially told by them to contact HP and Microsoft directly to fix, and then told to download online tools from various online sources (some not even official Microsoft sources?) to resolve the issue. I had to return it to them (twice) and eventually received a replacement which didn't work either. You would think that Debenhams is a brand you could trust, based on my experience this is far from the truth.

“Truly dreadful service”

My promised delivery time was between 8am to 6pm. I waited in my home until 6:30pm. The package arrived at 6:47pm when I was out of the house,well after the promised time. To rearrange a delivery slot, I now have to pay 10p per minute to call them. It seems the earliest they can redeliver is 4 days away as they do not deliver on a weekend! What a bunch. I made a mistake. I should have gone to John Lewis who have a much better business ethic and customer service.

“Item did not arrive”

I purchased a monitor, two days before the delivery was due I received a call to say the item was out of stock and to arrange a new delivery date. Two days after the delivery date I called to find out why the item had not arrived only to be told that it has increased in price. I was told that since the price of the item has risen by over £100 they could not cover it. Even after I had mentioned that I had already purchased the item and had at that point been waiting almost two weeks, I was told my only option was to pay the difference in price or get a refund. Valuable time wasted for me. I will be hesitant to order from Debenhams Plus again.

“DODGY AS ”

Firstly NOT Debenhams at all and customer service is terrible ,rude and mega unhelpful . Staff tried to put the blame on me for an aircon unit that stopped working after a few hours . The box it came in was damaged and had clearly been opened before , should have stopped there and sent it back straight to them but it worked ok and it was badly needed at that time. When I tried to send it back before I'd even described anything the biatch started implying it was gonna be my fault , insisted on my taking photos and then began saying I'd set it up wrong , which I hadn't . In fact she had got her facts completely wrong and I had to send her a link to the manual to show her how it was supposed to be set-up. The point is being accused of setting it up wrong before youv'e described any details is pretty crappy and obviously makes you wary they will follow their legal obligations .

“Terrible after-sales service”

5 months after buying a Sumvision Windows 10 mini-pc, it failed. Manufacturer suggested tests, which proved it was faulty, and they recommended I return it to Debenhams Plus for replacement under warranty. I did so - over a month ago - and included copies of the test results and supplier emails. Debenhams Plus say it is with 'someone' to be repaired. I do wish 'someone' would get the finger out.

Do not order from this company under any circumstances. They ship half of an order and then refuse to speak to you, despite multiple requests for assistance. I have never experienced anything so bad in 20 years of online ordering!

“WASHDAY BLUES”

Ordered Zanussi washer dryer beginning of January 2016 -eventually came 19/2/2016 after changing delivery date 3 times Delivery was also nightmare -men unloaded machine from van without packaging then dropped the machine They advised contact Debenhams Plus and get replacement washer dryer I contacted Debenham Plus and had to send photo of damage then she told me she would order replacement which would arrive 3rd of March -when questioned she would not guarantee delivery for this date AND I WAS NOT TO USE NEW MACHINE -I requested I get my old washer dryer back and so began the nightmare -after numerous phone calls and emails -not possible Then I found a Knight in Shining Armour -CO-OP ELECTRICAL who were cheaper and could deliver in two days WONDERFUL Then began the farce of returning machine it had to be bubble wrapped cos arrived with no packaging -they sent bubble wrap Was supposed to be collected by Arrow XL on Wednesday 24th February but van broke down -told by head office collection now would be Saturday ON PHONE YET AGAIN and now machine would be collected on Thursday at 7pm -hurrah that happened and the guys were very pleasant took machine away WAITED patiently for reply from email -nothing -girl thinks she gives a good service Phoned on Monday 29/2/16 -and yes they have record that washer dryer had been collected and they would put through refund which could take 5 days to clear AFTER THIS EXPERIENCE I WOULD NEVER USE OR RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO MY WORST ENEMY

“Warranty Period”

Website showed HP Pro book P5S40ES with 3 year warranty ordered on line, took screen shot as proof of 3 year warranty. Invoice sent via email 1 year warranty. Customer services contacted, she advised me 3 year warranty would be honoured and email would be sent stating this. Laptop dispatched and no email received. Laptop received and customer services contacted. He advised me 3 year warranty not being honoured. Hassle now to send laptop back and wait for confirmation of laptop being received and then wait for payment being made back into my account. Don't trust them even when you have solid proof of a warranty !

“Cancelled order still posted out.”

1) This company is not associated to Debenhams , although they try to infer they are. 2) Ordered an item and then cancelled within 24 hours, they ignored the cancellation and posted out 36 hours later after cancellation. 3) Refused delivery and informed Debenhamsplus and couriers. 4) Contacted couriers and they confirmed return date to Debenhamsplus. 5) Contacted Debenhamsplus who responded when item is returned they will process my refund, I informed them it was returned to themselves 8 days previous. 6) I am still awaiting a response/refund. I cannot recommend this company because of their inefficiency

My baby has had a gift from your company that unfortunately is a duplicate of what I already have. Being as I have only just opened it due to Xmas and it was dispatched on 9th dec. How do I stand where returning it is concerned?
