I ordered a basic PC using Palicomps website. I was informed after placing my order that a sales person would need to contact me by phone to discuss my order. I thought this odd as most on line companies don't do this, as all correspondence is done on line. Anyway, the following day I spoke with a salesman who was very pleasant at the time, and discussed delivery to which we agreed on a delivery date, so far so good, he then "mumbled" about warranty and free upgrades, unbeknown to me, he was selling me extras, and at no time was any extra charge mentioned to me, so I thought nothing of it. The computer arrived on the agreed delivery day, but I noticed that an additional £68 pounds had been charged, and I phoned Palicomp who informed me that this was for Carefree Warranty and upgrades, neither of which I had ordered, and certainly had not authorised payment for this. On phoning to get a refund of the £68 I was told that as the upgrades were already in the computer I would have to either return the unit, or I could only get a partial refund. On asking to speak to the accounts dept, was informed no one was available (I doubt there is an accounts dept), and to send them an email. I did get a refund of £38 but feel that the whole process was far too upsetting (especially that they could dip their fingers into my credit card for this extra payment was worrying) that I will not purchase from Palicomp again nor recommend them. Pity, so far the computer is working well!
