“Disgusting service!!!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by lxm1 on 15/01/2013

Please do not buy a computer from this company!!!!! I wish I had read some reviews online before parting with £1200.

I ordered a custom built computer, the order went through, all the parts were in stock.

I recieved an email to inform me that my order had been recieved. A week later (6 days) I recieved another email informing me that they had only just started to build my pc.

Another full week later (7 days) I recieved an email to inform me that a part was out of stock, and they would have to order it in.

(why did it take 7 days from them starting the build to find out a part was out of stock?)

I recieved an email 5 days ater that to let me know that the part was back instock ,and the build had begun.

I recieved an email 3 days later to inform me that my build was now complete and it was going through the testing and overclock process.

The next day I recieved an email asking me if I wanted to substitute my motherboard because unfortunetly it had gone out of stock.

(I was clearly being told lies about the build being complete and going through the testing stage, how could they have built, tested and overclocked the pc if they didnt have a vital part (the motherboard)?)

(why was another item allowed to run out of stock when awaiting another item on order - shouldnt my other parts have been 'held' to avoid this issue?)

22 days had past since order conformation and payment had been taken and my order had not even been started. I didnt wish to wait another week for the second part to come in stock, and then possibly more time for the build, and possibly be told more stories and lies.

At this stage all I was thinking about was they had taken £1200 22 days ago and I had recieved nothing!I was starting to worry, and due to them being unable to fullfill my order I requested they cancel the order and refund my payment.
---------------------------------------------

I recieved an email telling me that they would charge me an admimn fee for cancelling my order, and they would further charge me a 'stock handling fee' The total charges they wished to take from me was £120.00

Yes they wanted to charge an 'admin fee' of £120! for lots of incompetencies of their part. I explained to them that I was not prepared to pay any stock handling fee because I felt that they hadnt completed and delt with my order within a reasonable time and was fed up of constant excuses and delays, they could not provide me with the computer build I had ordered within a reasonable time, and that they were at fault for allowing multiple items to go out of stock, one vital item went out of stockl after they had told me the computer had been built and was being overclocked.

They ignored all further emails for a week and with no sign of any refund I phoned there customer helpline, I was very polite and courteous and the 'girl' was extremelty rude and couldnt care less what my problem was, she told me it was not her problem and that someone would get back to me.

I waited another two days without a returned phonecall, so I phoned again and spoke to im guessing the same 'customer care' who told me they would not refund me the whole amount, they would refund me the £1200 minus the £120 fee being £1080. She confirmed that they had cancelled my order.

At this point they had cancelled my order and were refusing to refund me my full amount, pretty much saying take the £1080 or we will refund you nothing.

I told her i would deal with the matter through my bank and credit card company.

I phoned the credit card company through my bank and they forced a full refund back without issue.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! THERE ARE MANY MORE OUT THERE WITH GOOD SERVICE AND REVIEWS.

Johnallen's Response to lxm1's Review

I'm currently experiencing similar problems with Computer Planet, except that the order value is around £2,400. My order was placed at the beginning of November, finally delivered halfway through December but ran for barely an hour before dying. It took several attempts to arrange collection for repair and was returned to Computer Planet on 20th December. It's still not out of repair as of today (23/1/13). That's nearly 3 months since originally ordering and paying for the computer!
