Bought a dress from Talke outlet. Was advised by the store manager to be careful how I wash it as a couple of others had gone a funny colour due to dye running, including her own, and that I need to hand wash in cool water to avoid this. I followed her care instructions, which are also in the label and the dress still ran and went an off pink colour! I also noticed some loose stitching at the front which had caused sequins to come off! Returned to store and the managers attitude was a disgrace, she was rude and advised not a manufacturer fault, despite the care instructions being followed precisely! I asked how loose stitching could not be classed as a manufacturing fault, which she advised "probably happened when I washed it!" Obviously her confidence in the quality of the products they sell is poor if she believes they can not withstand a delicate hand wash without stitching coming away, but was determined that this is not a manufacturer fault?! I asked how to escalate my complaint and she was very obstructive. I found the customer service email address online and returned my dress to head office. 10 days later I emailed to advise I was still awaiting a response, despite the item being signed for over a week prior (I would advise you pay for a signed for service when returning items as I've read they will try and get out of dealing with complaints by saying item was never received!) I got a response advising that this was a manufacturing fault and that I could have a full refund, plus the cost of my postage. However I do feel that the only reason they conceded was because since me buying the dress they changed the care instructions online to "dry clean only" which I printed off a picture of and included with my complaint! Good luck to anyone who has a problem and needs to return an item. I have read nothing but negative comments since I bought the dress, including the lady in the post office who sent my item off for me! It has taken persistence to get my money back and has been a bit of a battle of wills, which it absolutely shouldn't be! That said I am triumphant and got my refund and a lesson to never shop with this awful company again!
