“Trying to return an unwanted item”

★☆☆☆☆

written by bloodound on 22/02/2013

My father ordered himself a wheelchair but unfortunately died the day after it arrived. It was not even unpacked. Four weeks later and after six phonecalls we are still trying to get the wheelchair collected for a refund. We are promised to be called back and are assured that it only normally takes 48 hours. Now Chums says that it is the manufacturers fault that the item has not been collected and that they cannot supply a date when it will be collected and that someone will have to wait in until it is. My father purchased the wheelchair from Chums and not the manufacturers, his contract was with Chums. We phoned Chums initially only two days after my fathers death, so well within their returns policy. Chums are aware as to why the wheelchair is not required and i am now finding their attitude disrespectful and offensive due to their complete lack of regard to the feelings of my family at this time. Obviously customer care does not apply in this case as they know that my father will not be a returning customer. At a time like this it is the last thing we need is to be dealing with a company like Chums. My advice do not use them.
