They say that people are more likely to post bad reviews than good reviews.....I guess their right.
I felt compelled to write this review in the hopes that it stops someone else from buying from Blacks.
Let me first say that I am a very shrewd purchaser of on-line goods. If I have never heard of the company I do background checks on-line to check it is not a fake website or their service is not appalling. Due to the blanket advertising around where I work, St Pauls, both in papers & magazines and on the underground, I stupidly assumed Blacks was reputable. Who spends so much money on advertising and then nothing on customer service, No one right?.....wrong! Blacks do.
So below is my experience.....enjoy!
I placed an order on Blacks website for well over £100 of goods on 2/12/14. I am well aware of delays in delivery due to black Friday with all companies but this is not where the problem is. After over 7 days without a word from Blacks other than the automated e-mail saying order received I decided to call Blacks customer service. I called on the 9/12/14 to say I wanted more information regarding my order. I spoke to someone who informed me that my order had fallen into some sort of order black hole....maybe that's why their called Blacks...anyway, he assured me that he was going to retrieve it and as by way of apology he would give me 20% off my next order and free next day delivery....fine I said, can you send me an e-mail stating that?....No, sorry....How do I prove that this was ever promised?....just mention it on your next order.......
All began to sound like he just wanted to get me off the phone.....If you're not happy we can give you a refund.....I would rather have the order I ordered, I said......All sounded like a brush off so I decided to call back the next day. This time I became down right suspicious about them. The number for chasing up orders was dead so after a work around I finally got through and the lady informed me she would look into it and put me on hold for 16 minutes and then hung up! Now I'm really suspicious, so I google Blacks reviews and here I fell upon the numerous complaints about Blacks.....Never again I assure you, ALL companies will be vetted prior to purchase from now on! But the story is not finished......I immediately rang back and was by this time suspicious that the helpline was not in fact owned by Blacks but a call centre that takes calls for multiple clients/companies. This time a lady answers....how can I help.....first question, I would like to know if you work for Blacks or you're just a call centre?......I work for Blacks sir (that was a lie that she later admitted after double checking that I was calling about a Blacks order)....to cut an already long story a bit shorter.....It ended with me cancelling the order and her promising to call back to check they had not attempted to take any money from my account. I decided to call my bank to attempt to see if they had taken any money and if not, block it. She did call back but suspiciously quickly, under 2 minutes! She said that money had not been taken but as a gesture of goodwill, if I continued with the order they would give me 20% off my order!....really I thought.....where would a call centre get that authority considering they are not Blacks employees??? As I stated. she called me within 2 minutes so obviously had not spoken to Blacks.....at this point I got really worried that this is in some way a ploy to stall me to take money from my account. If they could not even process my order to the despatch warehouse, how the hell are they going to stop themselves from taking my payment.....So 2 months of watching my account ahead due to the bank allowing companies 60 days to claim money.....Thanks Blacks! Merry Christmas to you all.....Not! If you invest only in advertising but nothing into the company, you will go under in 2015
