Sky Poker - A Great Community

The first time I'd ever heard of Sky Poker was when I stumbled across channel 861 (formerly 868) on Sky. The show on Sky Poker TV drew me in instantly, I'd signed up virtually straight away and am still a regular viewer of the shows. The channel is a massive USP for the site which provides a great balance of educational information alongside fun and interactive entertainment.

Two of the things I saw on the channel in the early days that really enticed me was the Total Player promotion and the Team Sky Poker promotion. From the very early days, I strived to be good enough to get into TSP as I just loved the idea of representing Sky, playing in big MTTs, and really feeling part of the community.

The other major USP for Sky has to be the community. I have met countless people through the forum who I now consider to be friends outside of poker. It is a really welcoming forum and from my experience, much more friendly and inviting than any other poker forum I've ever frequented. There are so many members of the community happy to help others improve their game and it's largely thanks to some of these members that my game is at the level it is now. But the community goes further than that, if you are involved with the community, you can always rely on getting 'a rail' when going deep in a tournament, a bit of encouragement when things aren't going so well or a congratulations when they are.

The above 2 things are what make the real difference between playing on another site where I just feel I am playing against faceless people and playing on Sky. It's these 2 factors that hooked me in and have kept me a loyal customer to the site ever since.
