Nightmare Company

Had numerous problems since moving to ecton brook site . poor workmanship had to have lino relayed, paving slabs redone, paintwork issues, electrical issues, hot water issues, garden was a complete hack job paving slab just came straight off when stood on for the first time. Bathroom was done in a different spec to what we had chosen and when we seeked some compensation for it they offered to plant a bush in our Tiny back garden. Have had people out numerous times for the same problems as first attempts were so poor. Customer service is great when your looking to buy but terrible there after wait weeks for a reply to any emails. To top it off we have now been told they landscaped the front garden wrong and it is imposing on council land so they are cutting back the already tiny walkway that we have leading to the outside pavement. Always excuses and definsiveness with them. Have put off writing this for months but am now just exhausted and agitated by them. Do not buy without having a snagger take a good look at everything first as they are not a good quality builder !

Don't Believe What They Tell You. There Is No Qual

Don't believe what they tell you. There is no quality control either within their own organisation or of their sub-contractors. Their customer service team is poor and creates new problems when trying to correct existing ones. And they will disappear without saying anything, leaving you to find the damage. There will be in-built problems that They cannot fix. They can't build in straight lines. They absolutely love "flexible" sealant ---- its everywhere. You will suffer months and years of anxiety if you buy one of their properties. Have a snagging report done prior to completion as a condition of the contract. Do not use their recommended solicitors - conflict of interest. You have been warned!

Stay Well Clear!

If you buy a house from them, you’d better hope that you don’t have any defects or you’re stuffed. Their ‘Head of Customer Services’ is full of promises, with no ability, knowledge or capacity to actually resolve any issues. In fact after his involvement you end up with your house in a worse state than when you moved in, which really is saying something. His assistant has all the talk, of how passionate she is about her job and how much she wants to help, but you may as well talk to a shop mannequin. I genuinely wish I had never purchased my house and many of my neighbours feel the same.

May we ask what you are experiencing with your problems at butterfields??

Helloitisme

No Humberston Meadows. But I guess by the fact you’ve commented you can empathise?

Gradygrady19

Are you at Butterfields too by any chance?!

Live Cables Under The Kitchen Units, Rubbish Under

Live cables under the kitchen units, rubbish under kitchen units, extractor fans not connected, missing bricks, poor brickwork and joints, mastic everything, missing block pavers on the drive, uneven ridge tiles to roof, nails protruding from floor boards, drainage not connected in floor void....

Just some of the problems we have had with our home built by Westleigh.

Don't exchange before everything is complete to your satisfaction.

I would walk over broken glass, rub salt into the wounds and then cut my feet off before buying another house built by Westleigh. I won't have them on my property again.

Not To Be Trusted!

I totally agree with BenjaminMcCurdy20's review.

We bought from Westleigh, and they have completely done us over. They agreed to works being carried out before completion, but after exchange (because of the long gap between the 2 when buying a new home). We trusted that they would do what they said they would.

Now we've raised it they are looking for any excuse to avoid dealing with the corrections that need to be made. It means that we are now left with a bill running into the '000's, just to get to where we should of been when we moved in.

My advice is avoid this developer at all costs, as that is what you will end up with - huge costs.

Whilst I appreciate this website, and the opportunity it allows to leave feedback on a new home builder, I believe there should be a better, and more specific forum to share these kind of experiences with new home builders - In fact hell, I may even set one up!

Don't Touch

Beware as soon as you move in, that's the last you will hear from them. They make themselves very scarce and ignore your issues. You have been warned
